Yvonne A. Bernard
GARDNER - Yvonne A. (Roy) Bernard, 79, of 75 Oak St., a retired waitress, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999 at home.
Among her survivors is a brother, Edmond Roy, of Orange.

Robert H. Chiasson, Formerly Of Orange
ORANGE - Funeral services for Robert H. Chiasson, 73, formerly of Orange who died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999 at his home at 901 West Mathews, Roswell, New Mexico, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1800 W. Bland.
Robert and his wife, Elaine, moved to Roswell from Orange in December of 1977.
He is survived by his son Wayne Chiasson of Roswell; sisters, Virginia Colo of Athol, and Nellie Honkala of Westminster. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Adrianna, Dareena, and Lisa Chiasson, and one great grandchild, Lucas Gurule, all from Roswell.

Wold Services
ORANGE - Funeral services for Thelma M. (Bolivar) Wold, 89, of 15 Burrill Ave., were held Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999 in Witty's Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Blakney of Central Congregational Church officiated.
Burial was in South Cemetery. The pall bearers were Edward Dornig, Richard Ballou, Jesse Worrick Jr., David Fisher, John Griffiths and Carl Fisher.

Francis Stanley
SOUTHWICK - Francis "Bud" Stanley, 63, of 283 College Hwy., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999 at Noble Hospital in Westfield.
He was the father of Frances Baker of Athol.

Esephene E. Moulton
NEW BRAINTREE - Esephene E. (Doughty) Moulton, 81, of 275 Hardwick Rd., died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 19999 in Quaboag on the Common after an illness. She was born in Petersham.

Frank F. Webster
L.S. Starrett Retiree
ORANGE - Frank F. Webster, 62, of 24 Church St., died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 at his home after a long battle with scleroderma, with his family at his bedside.
He was born in Wendell, Sept. 29, 1937, the son of George A. and Delphine (Fox) Webster, lived in Wendell several years and since 1954 resided in Orange.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Maureen E. (Camden) Webster; a son, Charles Webster of Athol; three daughters, Sunny Clukey of Orange, Brenda Barnes of Phillipston and Catherine Ploof of Athol; a brother, Elmer Webster of Orange; five sisters, Shirley Kingsbury, Kathryn Grout, Carol Stansell and Joan Gates, all of Orange, and Phyllis Muniz of Athol; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Beatrice Harris, died in May of 1999 and a sister, Henriette LaFountain, died in January of 1999.
Webster attended New Salem Academy. He worked very hard from the time he was a young boy starting on the Fiske family farm in Wendell and continuing at the Vaillencourt Texaco Station, Barnes Foundary, the Highland Dairy, manager of the Sure Gas Station, Smith Trucking Company, Orange Cooperative Coal, Millers Falls Tool Company, and the L. S. Starrett Company for 27 years, retiring in 1992 as night supervisor in Department 4.
He served several years in the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, Hospice Care, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, Mass., 01440.
Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home of Athol is directing arrangements.

Marion L. Abare
Athol High Graduate
Marion Lavalette Abare, 72, of 9617 Outlook, Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Athol, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999 following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 16, 1927 in Athol to Pauline Augusta and Ray Emerson Lavalette. She graduated from Athol High School in 1944. She married Robert E. Abare in 1946. He died Dec. 25, 1995.
She studied journalism in college in Kansas.
Survivors include nine children and their families; Sue Abare, Albuquerque, N.M.; Jacqueline Dotson, Overland Park, Kan.; and sons Dan and his son Shawn of Overland Park and Patrick and Amy and daughter Kiersten of Jamul, Gardner and children Kate, Ellie and Johnny, of Carrington, N.D.; Robert and Janet Abare and children Justin and Jessica of Lemoore, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins from California as well as a very dear friend Barbara Abare and many, many other close friends.
A brother, Ray Emerson Lavalette Jr., died in 1995.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5 at Cure of Ars' Catholic Church, Leawood, Kan.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kan. at a future date. Friends may call from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Arrangements are by D.W. Newcomers Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan.

Maisie Patterson
Nursing Assistant
ROYALSTON - Maisie Kay Patterson, 23, of 213 Athol Richmond Rd., died Thursday, Oct. 27, 1999 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
She is survived by her son Aastin M. Patterson, at home; her mother, Kaylene B. Lindell Champney and step - father, Skip Champney, of Athol; her father, James F. Patterson and step - mother, Jennie L. Patterson, of Sharon, Vt.; one sister, Ginnal J. Patterson of Athol; two half sisters, Patience S. Champney and Kanessa C. Champney of Athol; paternal grandparents, James H. and Frances Patterson of Brookfield; the father of her son, Kieron W. Smith of Athol; a good friend, Roy Mayo of Athol, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
She was born April 12, 1976 in Springfield. She was educated at New Braintree public schools and was a graduate of Montachusett Regional Vocational High School. She was a certified nursing assistant working for Baldwinville Nursing Home for the past three years. She enjoyed dancing, music, animals and flowers.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at the Pillsbury Funeral Home on Old West Brookfield Road in Brookfield. The family will receive guests from 10 to 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aastin M. Patterson memorial fund, c/o Family Bank, 2156 Main St., Athol, Mass. 01331.

Katherine R. Hodgkins
Katherine R. Hodgkins, 49, of 701 Cottage St., died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999 at her home.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home were incomplete at press time.

Maurice J. Songer
Retired Army Sergeant
ORANGE - Maurice J. Songer, 83, of 100 Burrill Ave., died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, in Quabbin Valley Healthcare.
Born in Farmington, Hunt Company for 33 years until retiring. After his retirement he was employed part - time at the Athol Daily News. Previously he had worked at the former Orange Shoe Company, Anson Shoe Company in Athol, and the Leavitt Machine Company.
A member of the American Legion Post 172 and Athol - Orange Lodge of Elks, he enjoyed his family, working around his home, his schnauzer dog "Max" and being a devoted husband for 56 years.
His wife, Gladys R. (Allard) Songer, died in 1994. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Ellsworth Songer, in 1990, and John Songer Jr., in 1994.
He leaves a son, Gregory Songer of Athol; three brothers, Frank Songer of Athol, Laurence Songer and Denis Songer both of Orange; four sisters, Mildred Bianchi of Orange, Freda Songer of Greenfield, Clara Wesockes and Jessie May Belletete both of Hollywood, Fla.; two grandchildren; one great - grandson and many nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m. in Witty's Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian F. McGrath of St. Mary's Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in South Cemetery.
There will be a calling hour Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 1 to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Save Our Hospital fund, 2033 Main St., Athol, Mass. 01331.
