Jane Brunelle
NORTHBOROUGH — Jane (Ryan) Brunelle, 66, of Northborough and Bass River, formerly of Marlborough, died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at home.
She was the wife of Paul A. Brunelle for the last 46 years.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Arthur P. and Helen (Perry) Ryan, and was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School and Worcester State College.
Mrs. Brunelle was an elementary teacher in the Shrewsbury and Marlborough public schools.
Besides her husband, she leaves her son, Paul M. and his wife, Joanna, and their children, Nicholas, Samuel, Cammie, Marcus, Ava and Quinn of Hudson; her daughter, Lisa A. Carroll and her husband, James, and their children, Lindsay, Rebecca and James of North Grafton; her son, John D. and his wife, Mimi, and their children, Simon, Max and Liza-Jane of Shrewsbury; her brothers, David and Richard Ryan of Florida; and her sister, Anne Sarowski, of Cape Cod.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 30, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernadette's Church, 266 Main St., Northborough.
Burial will be private.
There are no calling hours.
Instead of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Worcester State Foundation - Class of 1962, 45th Reunion Gift, c/o Office of Alumni Development, 486 Chandler St., Worcester, MA 01602.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.

Andrew F. Regan
FRAMINGHAM — Andrew Francis Regan, 82, formerly of Framingham and East Sandwich, died Friday, March 23, 2007, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bedford after a long illness.
He was the husband of Lorraine (Resteghini) Regan, who died in 2000, for more than 50 years.
Born in Northfield, Vt., son of the late John and Helena (Wall) Regan, Mr. Regan was raised in Framingham and graduated from Framingham High School in 1942.
After serving during World War II as a coxswain in the U.S. Navy, he returned to Framingham and soon began a 35-year career with the Framingham Fire Department, where he was one of the first members of the department's automated fire signal department, retiring as deputy chief in 1980. He later came out of retirement to serve briefly as interim fire chief for the town of Ashland.
A talented baseball player in his youth, Mr. Regan enjoyed golfing later and traveled extensively with his wife, visiting Hawaii and returning to Alaska, where he had been stationed during part of his Naval service.
Above all, Mr. Regan was devoted to his family, relishing every opportunity to be with his two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He leaves his son, Joseph Regan of Hopkinton and his wife, Diane; two brothers, John Regan Jr. of Framingham and Thomas Regan of Florida; two grandchildren, Cheryl Catalina of Shrewsbury and Keith Regan of Grafton; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be on Thursday, March 29, at 9 a.m., from the Callanan-Cronin Funeral Home, 34 Church St., Hopkinton, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church, 20 Church St.
Burial will follow in the Clinton Street Cemetery in Hopkinton.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Clinical and Research Program at Boston University School of Medicine, 715 Albany St., B-7800, Boston, MA 02118; or the Hopkinton Ambulance Fund, 73 Main St., Hopkinton, MA 01748.

Eda Wells
NORTHBOROUGH — Eda M. (Mainini) Wells, 100, of Northborough, died Sunday, April 1, 2007, at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough after a brief illness.
She was the wife of William F. Wells, retired detective lieutenant of the Massachusetts State Police, who died in 1976.
Born in Milford, daughter of Luigi and Regina (Contini) Mainini, she was a remarkable woman who was revered by those who knew her. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1926.
Mrs. Wells lived in Northborough for 56 years and worked in the cafeteria at Algonquin Regional High School for 15 years. Prior to that, she worked at State Mutual during the 1930's and 1940's.
Mrs. Wells was a very active member in her community, serving in many associations and clubs. She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Women's Club and Prayer Shawl Ministry; the Northborough Historical Society; a volunteer reader at Peaslee School in Northborough; a past president of the Friends of the Northborough Senior Center; nominated and served as grand marshall for the 2000 Applefest Parade; past president of the Northborough's Women's club; a five-year 7th degree member of the Northborough Grange; and was an honorary aide of Martha Scarsdale, president of the Federation of Women's Club of Massachusetts.
She leaves a daughter, Patricia W. Doyle, and her husband, Francis ``Skip,'' of Northborough; three grandchildren, Edward ``Teddy'' Doyle and his wife, Rose, of Florida, Andrew Doyle of Shrewsbury and Regina Cranford and her husband, Scott, of Berlin; and two great-grandsons, Joshua and Will Cranford.
A funeral Mass was on Wednesday, April 4, at 10 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough.
Burial followed in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. (Rte. 20), Northborough.
Memorial donations may be made to Friends of the Northborough Senior Center Building Fund, 1 Centre Drive, Northborough, MA 01532.

Gerald F. Spratt Sr.
MARLBOROUGH — Gerald F. Spratt Sr., 88, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at his Marlborough home after a long period of failing health.
He was the husband of Maria Joanna “Jenny” (DiBuono) Spratt, who died in 1977.
Born in County Cork, Ireland, son of the late Bartholomew and Mary (Malloy) Spratt, he lived in Maynard before moving to Marlborough more than 50 years ago.
Mr. Spratt served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Texas and in the invasion of Normandy, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Colleary Post VFW of Marlborough and Veterans of the USS Texas Association.
He served with the Marlborough Police Department for 35 years, including 30 years as the police safety officer. He became known affectionately as “Officer Spratt” to thousands of Marlborough students and their families, retiring in 1985. He was a member and past president of the Safety Officers League of Massachusetts.
Mr. Spratt served on the Marlborough City Council from 1986 to 1995 as councilor of Ward 2 and later, as councilor at large. For more than 50 years, he was known and loved as Mr. St. Patrick's Day in Marlborough, as he spent countless hours spreading Irish goodwill and humor, dressed in his Leprechaun green, visiting school classrooms, nursing homes, convents and shut-ins throughout the area.
He was a longtime member of the former St. Ann's Parish and the former Holy Name Society of the parish, and most recently was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish. An active member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Knights of Columbus, for many years he was an active member of the holiday helpers of Marlborough, where he spent countless hours helping with the distribution of food and gifts to the less fortunate of the city.
Mr. Spratt was a dedicated health and fitness enthusiast, swimming and working out until his health forced him to stop. He loved travel and cruises, and had planned to take a cruise this month.
He leaves a son, Gerald F. Spratt Jr. of New Oxford, Pa.; two daughters, Mary Joan Auger of Marlborough and Annmarie Taft of Shrewsbury; his longtime devoted friends, Achilles and Betty Evangelous, with whom he lived and who cared for him for the past 18 months; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral with military honors was on Saturday, March 17, at 11:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.
Burial followed in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Marlborough Sons of Italy (Spratt Scholarship) c/o Betty Evangelous, 47 Arnold St., Marlborough, MA 01752.

Michele D. Baldinger
MARLBOROUGH — Michele D. “Mema” (Bleau) Baldinger, 59, of Marlborough, died Friday, March 16, 2007, at home, surrounded by her family. She was diagnosed four years ago with ovarian cancer stage 4.
She was the wife of Jim W. Baldinger for 37 years.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Doris M. (Trudell) Bleau and had lived in Marlborough for the past 33 years.
She was employed as a massage therapist and polarity therapist for eight years, enjoying having her business in her own home called “The Peaceful Healing Place,” while working at other spas and doing outcalls.
Mrs. Baldinger enjoyed spending time with her family most of all, including camping and the outdoors, traveling -- especially to Aruba. She loved training and spending time with her canine soulmate, an Australian shepherd named Dakota Red Sky.
She was involved in many community activities including the Richer Home and School Association, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and, for the past five years, she volunteered with the Pan Mass Challenge in Bourne. Her daughter, Kerry, rode the PMC, 192 miles, in honor of her mother, grandmother and sister-in-law, Cheri.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Keith R. Baldinger and his wife, Erin, of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Kerry A. Pottle and her husband, Robert, of Everett; two brothers, Clifford E. Bleau and his wife, Phyllis, of North Brookfield and Kenneth D. Bleau and his wife, Ellen, of Auburn; two granddaughters, Mackenzie Rose and Malorie Hope; and a spiritually adopted grandson, Jaalen Pottle, nephew of Bob Pottle, who lives with them.
A funeral service was on Wednesday, May 21, at 11 a.m., at the John P. Rowe Funeral Home Inc., 57 Main St., Marlborough.
Cremation followed at Rural Crematory in Worcester, with burial at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
Memorial donations may be made to either the Levine Cancer Center, Oak Avenue, Worcester, MA 01605, or to the Pan-Mass Challenge - MB-0173, 77 Fourth Ave., Needham, MA 02494.

Barbara Dunn Goodman
WELLESLEY — Barbara Dunn Goodman, 86, of Wellesley, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at her home.
She was the wife of Dr. John E Goodman D.M.D., who died in 1987.
A Wellesley resident for 50 years, she was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Leo J. and Winifred V. (Costello) Dunn.
Mrs. Goodman was a 1941 graduate of Manhattanville College and received her masters degree in zoology from Wellesley College in 1943. Dedicated to learning she continued classes at Wellesley College most of her adult life.
Active in many charities, she was also was member of the Wellesley College Club and enjoyed sailing and gardening. She was a loving mother and grandmother and considered by her family a certified ``angel.''
She leaves nine children, Barbara Uhrie of Wellesley, Kathleen Goodman of Shrewsbury, Ann Haro of Denver, Marilyn Valles of Newton, Kevin Goodman of Baltimore, Md., Suzanne Carchedi of Plymouth, Leo Goodman of Takilma, Ore., Michael Goodman of Plymouth and Marybeth Grogoza of Plymouth; one sister, Alice Campbell of Needham; one brother, Leo J. Dunn of Falmouth; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces nephews and cousins.
She was the mother of the late John Peter Goodman.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, at 10 a.m., in St. Paul's Church, Wellesley.
Burial followed in St. Patrick Cemetery Natick.
Arrangements were under the direction of Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common, are Monday,from 3 to 8 p.m.

Matthew M. Alger
DOUGLAS — Matthew M. Alger, 22, of Douglas, formerly of Milford, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, following a car accident.
He was born in Woonsocket, R.I., son of Robert Alger of Douglas and Pamela (McCausland) Alger of Grafton, and lived most of his life in Milford.
Educated in Milford schools, he was employed as a laborer at Time Savers Construction Co. in Hopedale.
Besides his parents, he leaves his brother, Christopher Alger of Douglas; his maternal grandmother, Estelle (Poulin) Richards of Shrewsbury; his girlfriend, Theresa Fisher of Milford; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
The funeral was on Saturday, June 2, at 9 a.m., from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church on Winter Street.
Burial followed in Vernon Grove Cemetery on Depot Street.
