Jennie E. Lucier
ORANGE - Jennie E. (Thompson) Lucier, 91, of 31A Winchendon Rd., Baldwinville, formerly of Orange, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000 in the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, after a long illness.
She was born in Orange on Dec. 17, 1908, daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Miner) Thompson and resided in Templeton for 60 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of East Templeton, the Templeton Fish and Game Club, South Royalston Sportsman's Club and Otter River Sportsman's Club.
Among her survivors are sons, Earl Lucier of East Templeton, Lenard Lucier of Templeton and Nelson Lucier of Baldwinville, and daughters, Helem Monette and Ada LePage of Baldwinville, Frances Nelson of Templeton, Rosa Buzzel of Athol and Carol Eaton of East Templeton
A daughter, Ruth Wright of Templeton, predeceased her.

Gladys I. Oja
BALDWINVILLE - Gladys I. (Ladeau) Oja, 92, of 10 Pleasant St., a former rest home co - owner and operator, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at home after an illness.
She lived in Royalston before moving to Baldwinville 40 years ago. Among her survivors are sons, Leonard Oja of Phillipston and Thomas Oja of Baldwinville and daughters Vivian Prentice and Doneta Leslie, both of Baldwinville.

Memorial services for Helene t. "Ma" (Vorce) Fisher, 83, of 179 Silver Lake St., were held Saturday, April 15, 2000 in the First Assembly of God Church, Orange, with Pastor Frank Visco, officiating.
The organist was Laurie MacDonald, along with several friends singing special music. Burial followed in Silver Lake Cemetery and the bearers were her son's, Robert and Kenneth Bowers.

ORANGE - Funeral services for Gurlie C. E. (Johnson) Ingram, 84, of 360 Holtshire Rd., were held Monday, April 17, 2000 in Witty's Funeral Home. The Rev. Vance E. Frank officiated.
Burial was in South Cemetery.
The pall bearers were Robert Andrews, Leo Manewich, Donald LaBonte, Mark LeValle, Todd LeValle and Jeffrey Mann.

Funeral services for Terrence "Terry" O'Brien, 68, of 648 Pleasant St., Athol were held Friday, April 14, 2000, in Our Lady Immaculate Church. The celebrant was Rev. Stephen D. Johnson, pastor, the co - celebrants were Rev. James Callahan, associate pastor, Rev. Raymond Messier, fire chaplain and pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and Deacon James Linderman. The organist was Theresa Gabis and the church choir was in attendance. Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery.
The active bearers were Charles Stone, Walter Perkins, Kent Strong, Chris Sullivan, Bob Robertson and Mike Kuchieski. The honorary bearers were Neil Hachey, Brian Martin, Armond Dugas, Dick Gagnon and Warren Hasting.
The Athol Fire Department honor guard included Lee Chauvette, Tom Lozier and John Duguay. The color guard included Mike Smith, Brad Coolidge, George Terrien and Eric Jack. Engine 3 and the Chief's cruiser were included in the procession.
Officers and members of the Edward H. Phillips Post 102 American Legion were in attendance. They included Robert Carey, Past Commander; Wilfred Leslie, Sr. Vice Commander; Glenn Frenette, Finance Officer; Peter Krustapentus, Adj., Donald Walker, Sgt. At Arms; Victor Litchfield, Asst. Finance Officer; Mitchell Kenneway, Jr. Vice.
Peter Krustapentus and Glen Frenette folded the United States Flag and George Terrien of the Athol Fire Department presented the flag to Mr. O'Brien's cousin Katy Thomas.
Fiske Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Benjamin M. Berry
NORTHFIELD - Benjamin Michael Berry, infant son of David G. Berry and Erica G. Tamasiunas of 531 Mt. Hermon Station Rd., died before birth, Sunday, April 16, 2000 in Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield.
Among his survivors are maternal grandparents, Alan and Maureen (Osteler) Tamasiunas of Farmington, N.H.; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Crystal (Berry) Bouthillier Sr. of Northfield; maternal great - grandparents, Alphonse Tamasiunas of Michigan and Donald and Gertrude Osteler of Vermont; paternal great - grandparents, Ralph and Glennice Berry of Erving.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 19, at 10 a.m. in Erving Center Cemetery.
The Rev. Gordon Newell of the Erving Congregational Church will officiate.

Gurlie C. E. Ingram; Life Long Resident
ORANGE - Gurlie C. E. (Johnson) Ingram, 84, of 360 Holtshire Rd., died Thursday, April 13, 2000 in the Olympus Specialty Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, Springfield.
Born in Orange, March 25, 1916, a daughter of J. Adolf and Ellen (Carlson) Johnson, she grew up and lived in Orange all her life.
A graduate of Orange High School in 1934, she graduated from Forsyth Dental School for Hygienists, Boston, in 1937.
She was employed as a dental hygienist at the office of Dr. Ivor P. Muzzey and Dr. David P. Muzzey, Athol, for 44 years until retiring in 1981. An enthusiastic traveler, she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and pet dogs.
A member of the Athol - Orange Quota Club 35 years and the Orange Historical Society, she had also been a member of the Ada Rebakah Lodge and Linnea Circle.
Her professional associations included a life membership in Forsyth School Alumni Association, American, Massachusetts and Worcester District Associations of Dental Hygienists.
Her husband, Leighton L. Ingram, died in 1971 and two sisters, Amy S. V. Johnson died in 1998 and Martha G.E. Johnson died in 1994.
She leaves a sister, Ella Worrick of Athol; a step daughter, Gay LeValle of Lynnwood; two grandsons, Todd LaValle of Auburn and Mark LaValle of Franklin; a granddaughter, Laura Thorburg of Auburn; six great grandchildren and a cousin.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 17, at 1 p.m. in Witty's Funeral Home. The Rev. Vance E. Frank will officiate.
Burial will follow in South Cemetery.
There will be a calling hour from noon to 1 p.m. Monday.

Graveside services for Frances R. (Salmon) Vars, 75, of 648 Pleasant St., formerly of N. E. Fitzwilliam Road, Royalston, were held Saturday, April 15, 2000 in Lawrence Brook Cemetery, Royalston.
Rev. James B. Callahan, associate pastor of Our Lady Immaculate Church, officiated.
Bearers were Ronald Vars, John Chencharik, Joe Salmon, Kevin Davis, Roger LeBlanc and Ross LeBlanc.

Minnie Jarvenpaa; Enjoyed Cooking
So. ROYALSTON — Minnie (Bullock) Jarvenpaa, 85, of 19 River Rd., died Thursday, April 6, 2000 in Athol Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Baldwinville, April 30, 1914, the daughter of Ignatius and Mary (Gamala) Bullock and had lived here 67 years.
She worked many years ago in the Winchendon School. She was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church, Athol. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and frequent trips to Connecticut.
Her husband of 60 years, Olavi Jarvenpaa, died in 1994.
Among her survivors if two daughters, Joyce Levesque of Westminster and Deborah Mailman of Templeton; two sisters, Jennie Stickney of Baldwinville and Helen Dumont of Florida; nine grandchildren; ten great - grandchildren and five great - great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two sons, Donald Jarvenpaa and Richard Jarvenpaa, both of So. Royalston, as well as three brother, Edward, Joseph and Stanley Bullock and a sister, Charlotte Vaidulas.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 11, at 10 a.m. in the Smith Funeral Home, Gardner. The Rev. James Callahan of Our Lady Immaculate Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Lawrence Brook Cemetery, Royalston.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 10.
