Alphonse C. Savolis
Worcester - Alphonse C. Savolis 81 of 2 Greenbush Road died Saturday August 18 in St Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife of fifty two years Monica C (Kunsaitis) Savolis, a son Mark W Savolis of Texas; a daughter, Dorothy Conte of Redding, California; 10 grandchildren; 7 great - grandchildren and nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Joseph, Adam and Martin Kazlauskas, died before her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of George and Agatha (Grabauskas) Kazlauskas and lived here all her life.
Mrs. Chiras was a manager for Cottage Donut Shop in Shrewsbury for 17 years and retired in 1973.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Leicester Senior Citizens Club; Holy Name Golden Agers and the St. Charles Social Club.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday August 22 from Dirsa - Kazlauskas Funeral Home, 51 Providence St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday August 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June St., Worcester, 01602.

Helen A. Skibauskas
WORCESTER - Helen A. Skibauskas 81 of Worcester died July 30 in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
Miss Skibauskas is survived by two sisters Alice C Deres of Worcester and Dorothea Survilas of Arlington Mass. and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, John Skibauskas of Lynn Mass died in 1971, Andrew Skibauskas of Worcester died in 1931 and Paul Peters of Denver Colorado died in 1996.
She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Andrew and Petrone (Babinas) Skibauskas. She lived in Worcester before moving to Cambridge and Somerville where she lived for many years returning to Worcester sixteen years ago. She was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School in Cambridge and attended Burdett College. During World War II she worked at Raytheon Corp. and later worked as a Secretary for various manufacturing companies in the Cambridge and Somerville area, retiring many years ago.
The funeral will be held Friday August 3 at 11am in Saint Casimir Church 41 Providence St. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and that donations be made instead to Saint Casimir Church 41 Providence Street Worcester Mass.01604
The Dirsa - Kazlauskas Funeral Home 51 Providence Street is directing arrangements.

Joseph Stanley Kozarnowicz
WORCESTER - Joseph Stanley Kozarnowicz, 77, of 65 Sagamore Road, died Friday August 1 in his home.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Estelle C. (Anusauskas) Kozarnowicz; three sisters, Jane E. Kozarnowicz, Helen H. Kozarnowicz and Laura Dymek all of Worcester and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley J. Kozarnowicz of Worcester. He was born in Worcester, son of Felix and Jadwiga (Rucki) Kozarnowicz and had lived here all his life.
Mr. Kozarnowicz was a distribution clerk 37 years for the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 2000. Before then he worked 15 years for U.S. Envelope Company and prior to that he worked for Norton Company.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Kozarnowicz was graduated from Commerce High School and attended Colby College. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
The funeral will be held on Monday August 4 from Henry - Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St.,with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday August 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Marion M. "Mae" March
Worcester - Marion M. "Mae" March 90 of 27 Marion Avenue died August 2. in UMass - Memorial Hospital, Memorial Campus.
Her husband of sixty one years Bartholomew G March died in 1993. Mrs. March is survived by three sons Bartholomew G March jr. of Worcester, Richard P March of Charlton Mass. and Robert J March of Marlborough Mass. Two daughteon M Racicot and Eleanor F Carmody both of Worcester. One sister Virginia Cummings of Worcester, sixteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A brother Joseph Jurgelonis of Millbury and a sister Veronica Scarbeau of Orlando Florida; nine grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Two brothers and one sister died before her; George Degon, Roland Degon and Madeleine Walsh. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of George and Alma (Bazinet) Degon and lived most of her life in Worcester before coming to West Yarmouth 11 years ago. Mrs. Desavage observed her 78th birthday Friday.
Mrs. Desavage was an office clerk many years for Marane Oil Co., Worcester and retired in 1980. Before then, she worked many years for the Wesby Bookbinding Co., Worcester.
She was graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester.
Mrs. Desavage was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Worcester.
The funeral will be held Tuesday July 24, from Dirsa - Kazlauskas Funeral Home, 51 Providence St., Worcester; with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday July 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Felix Masterson Scholarship, Worcester State College, in care of the Development Office, 486 Chandler St., Worcester, 01602.

Ruth T. Taparanskas
Worcester - Ruth T. Taparanskas 78 of 23 1/2 Cheever Street died July 11 in UMass - Memorial Hospital, University Campus, following an illness.
Her husband Vitantas Taparanskas died in 1989. She is survived by a daughter Dr. Wendy J Taparanskas of Baltimore Maryland and a sister Albina H Bartlett of Worcester. Another daughter Judith Taparanskas of Jamaica Plain died in 1996.
She was born in Leicester a daughter of Joseph A and Teophilia (Patrick) Valinicus, graduated from Leicester High School and lived in Worcester since 1942.
She had worked in the cafeteria of Holy Cross College and at one time was the bookkeeper for the former Turple Pharmacy then on Pleasant Street. She had been a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society, and was an Associate Member of The Veterans of The Battle of The Bulge Association and had also been a member of Auxiliary of The Air Force Sergeants Association.
Private funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and that donations be made to a charity of the donors choice.
