Kim A. Carver, 43
ATHOL - Kim A. (Cote) Carver, 43, of 160 Spring St., Athol died Thursday, March 6, 2003, as a result of injuries from car accident in Orange.
She was born October 20, 1959 in Athol the daughter of Charles H. Cote and Maxine (Bromley) Carey. She grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School in 1977.
She worked as an operator for Verizon for several years. She also worked at Athol Memorial Hospital in the food service department for several years.
Kim loved playing the piano, and organ. She loved animals. She also enjoyed horseback riding and writing poetry. She loved the ocean and everything about nature. She was excited about planning a future trip to Africa in 2004, to enjoy a safari via hot air balloon. Kim enjoyed summer vacations with the family. Her summers were packed full of family enjoyment that only summers can bring like barbecues, mini golf and late nights by the fire pits laughing and enjoying all that life is.
She was a member of the Athol YMCA.
She leaves a daughter, Brianna Powell of Athol; a son, Ethan Carver of Sunderland; her mother, Maxine A. (Bromley) Carey of Athol; a stepfather, James L. Carey of Athol; four brothers, Charles Cote of Arat Virginia; Gilbert Cote of Swampscott; Chris Carey of New Salem, Brian Carey of Athol; three sisters, Sandra Hamlett of Baldwinville, Patricia O'Lari of Athol, Michele Cote of Baldwinville; three step - brothers, Thomas Carey of Maine; one step - sister, Brenda Hickey of Las Vegas, Michigan in 1946.
He leaves his wife and children in Gardner offiicated.
Private burial will be in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. A reception followed the funeral at the Franco - American Club in Athol.

Wright Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Zelma B. (Scott) Wright, 99, of 171 South Royalston Rd., were held Wednesday, March 5, 2002, in the Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. R. Lee Smith, pastor of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Readings were done by Jeffrey Lilley, Mrs. Wright's grandnephew and special music was played by Becky Gray.
Burial followed in Highland Cemetery and the bearers were; Jeffrey Lilley, Ryan Lilley, Donald Baker, Wayne Frost and Ronald Fournier.

Charlotte Berlyn
Founding Member Of Women's Health Initiative
CHARLTON - Charlotte (Garcia) Berlyn, 85, of 36 Ten School House Rd., died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester, after an illness.
She leaves her husband of 24 years, Robert W. Berlyn; three sons, Gene S. Ahlers of Wayland, Peter L. Ahlers of Magnolia, and Glenn M. Ahlers of Pendleton, Ky.; two daughters, Patricia A. Tourigny of Spencer and Delores Paliulis of Athol; a stepson, Robert K. Berlyn of East Greenwich, R.I.; two stepdaughters, Marcia A. Stiles of Shrewsbury and Pamela Millette of Georgetown; 25 grandchildren and 19 great - grandchildren.
She was born in Brooklyn, New Hampshire, she was a daughter of Frank W. and Hattie E. (Dunsmore) Palmer and grew up and attended school there.
She was married to Waino Maijala, who died in 1993. She had lived in the area since 1920. Mrs. Maijala was self employed as a maid and took care of several residences in the area as well as doing the cleaning at Camp Cheneo in Athol. An enthusiastic yodeler, she also played the piano and harmonica.
Survivors include sons William "Bill" Gates of South Royalston and Allan Gates of Athol; a daughter, Sharon Gates of Athol; 27 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren; and 19 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons Herman Gates Jr., and David R. Gates; and two daughters, May Lillian Gray and Elaine Jason, as well as 14 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange, at 10 a.m.
Burial in Silver Lake Cemetery will be private.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening, March 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Zelma B. Wright
Deputy Tax Collector
ATHOL - Zelma B. (Scott) Wright, 99, of 171 South Royalston Rd., formerly Sanders Street, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at the Wachusett Manor Nursing Home in Gardner.
She was born in Athol on Aug. 10, 1903, the daughter of George H. and Elizabeth (Patterson) Scott. She graduated from Athol High School in 1921 and had resided in Athol all of her life.
She worked for the Town of Athol in the Tax Collector's office as deputy tax collector from 1956 until her retirement in 1967. She had previously worked as a bookkeeper at the former Wilcox Celluloid Factory in uptown Athol for several years.
She was a member of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, enjoyed music, dancing, crocheting, sewing and sending cards and letters to her family and many friends. She also enjoyed spending vacations at her summer home in York Beach, Florida, formerly of Athol, were held Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, in Highland Cemetery, Athol with Deacon James Linderman, of the Our Lady Immaculate Church, officiating.
The bearers were: Vernon Bass, Robert Costa, George Robideau, James Robideau, Robert Clifford and Harry Sanderson.
The Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home of Athol was in charge of arrangements.

Fuller Services
ATHOL - Funeral services for Margaret E. (Anderson) Fuller, 81, of 28 Horrigan Ave. were held Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003 in the Higgins - O'Connor Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. R. Lee Smith, pastor of Starrett Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating.
Private burial will be held in Silver Lake Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
