Enos H. Bradford Sr.
BERLIN -- Enos H. Bradford Sr., 75, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in the home he built with his brothers in 1973.
Enos was born on April 14, 1928, in West Ocean City, the son of the late Dewey H. and Mildred Bradford.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jean Bradford; his four children, Dawne Muir of Salisbury, Enos "Jay" H. Bradford Jr. and June Fields, both of Seaford, and Lisa Tull of Whaleyville, as well as three stepchildren, Hilda King and Judy Holloway, both of Berlin, and Charles Shockley of Connecticut; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Hall and Mildred Warren, both of Berlin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Atwood "Woody" Bradford and Odus Bradford, and a sister, Frances Taylor.
Mr. Bradford had retired from a lifelong career as a carpenter, having worked many years alongside his brothers.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. A nephew, the Rev. Michael Bradford of Delmar, will officiate, and Pastor Phil Timmons of Berlin will assist. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Libertytown.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21802-1733.

Richard Francis Da Shiell
OCEAN CITY -- Richard Francis Da Shiell, 72, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004.
He was born in Philadelphia. He was a Navy veteran and a member of Sinepuxent American Legion Post 166.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; a daughter, Deborah C. Da Shiell and her husband, Richard A. Di Filippo, of Ocean City; and two grandchildren, Maxwell and Zachary Di Filippo.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bill Sterling will officiate. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ger-ri Harrison, 337 Winter Quarters Drive, Pocomoke City, Md. 21851.

Mary Lewis Warren
GALLATIN, Tenn. -- Mary Lewis Warren, 82, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004, in Gallatin.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Warren (Ellen) of Gallatin; sister, Virginia Bachman of Berlin; nephews, Stuart Scott (Ruth) and Bruce Scott of Berlin; grandchildren, Douglas Warren (Camille) of New Boston, Texas, David Warren (Sharyn) of Hendersonville, Tenn., Leslie McGinnis (Tim) of San Angelo, Texas, Chris Warren (Michelle) of Canton, Ga., and Allison Erdely (Steve) of Knoxville, Tenn.; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Ms. Warren retired with more than 21 years of service at Peninsula Regional Medical Center as a nursing assistant. During her service at PRMC, she received many exemplary service awards for her dedication to her patients and her employer. She leaves her family and many friends with loving and fond memories and will be greatly missed by all.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Parksley, with the Dr. Thomas McKelvey officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gallatin Healthcare, 438 N. Water Ave., Gallatin, Tenn. 37066.
Arrangements are being handled by Thornton Funeral Home, 24183 Chadbourne St. in Parksley.

Elizabeth D. "Betty" Davidson
SNOW HILL -- Elizabeth D. "Betty" Davidson, 79, of Snow Hill died peacefully Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at her home.
Born June 22, 1924, in Snow Hill, she was a daughter of the late William Edgar and Margaret Henman Dryden. Her husband of 50 years, William P. Davidson Jr., preceded her in death in November 1995.
Mrs. Davidson was a member of Spence Baptist Church in Snow Hill, where she was active in the Joy Group and Sunday school. She had devoted her life to her Lord by serving her church and dedicating her life to her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret D. and Stanley Cylc, and a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas W. and Teri Davidson, all of Snow Hill; four grandsons, Stanley Michael Cylc of Pocomoke City, Scott Cylc and wife, Kelley, Joshua Davidson and Zachary Davidson; a granddaughter, Rachel Davidson; two extended grandchildren, Joe Serman and David Serman, all of Snow Hill; a brother, William E. Dryden and wife, Alice, of Wilmington; one niece; and one nephew.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Spence Baptist Church in Snow Hill, where family and friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. Pastor Kenneth D. Elligson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Spence Baptist Church Building Fund, 7603 Spence Church Road,Snow Hill, Md. 21863.
Arrangements are being handled by Holloway Melson Funeral Home at 103 Linden Ave. in Pocomoke City.

Eddie Lee Revel
POCOMOKE CITY -- Eddie Lee Revel, son of the late William Revel and Leola Marshall, was called from labor to reward on Tuesday, March 16, 2004, after a lingering illness.
Eddie, better known as "Flinstone," was born June 13, 1953, in Pocomoke City.
After receiving his formal education in Worcester County public schools, he was united in holy matrimony to Cherrie Copes. Eddie was employed by Beauchamp Construction, where he worked faithfully until his health began to fail. After realizing the importance of a relationship with the Lord, Eddie recently rededicated his life to Christ.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his loving wife, Cherrie of 20 years; three daughters, Dawn and Derrielle, both of Pocomoke City, and Carla of New Church, Va.; four grandchildren, Jamaal, Darrius, Deaira of Pocomoke City and Breandon of New Church; six brothers, Robert Revels and his wife, Addie, of Horntown, Ronnie Revels and his wife, Sarah, of Dover, Alvin Revels of Salisbury, Albert Marshall and Willie Revels Jr., both of Pocomoke City, and Calvin Revels of Snow Hill; five sisters, Pauline Costen, Brenda Revels, Rosa Lee Melendez and her husband, Danny, Annie Mae Savage and her husband, Calvin, all of Pocomoke City, Madeline Blake and her husband, Richard, of Snow Hill; two uncles, Clarence Marshall of Wyoming, Del., and Logan Marshall of Stockton; his father-in-law, Charlie Carroll of Burkeville, Va.; four sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; two lifelong friends, Charles Bryant of Pocomoke City and Allen Purnell of Snow Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Eddie will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. To know that he's resting with his heavenly Father comforts our hearts and strengthens our spirit and encourages us to continue to look towards the hills where our help comes from. We know that earth has no sorrows that heaven can't heal.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Macedonia Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, where a viewing will be held Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Richard Willis Marine Sr.
SALISBURY -- Richard Willis Marine Sr., 64, of Salisbury died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Peninsula Regional Medical in Salisbury.
Born and raised in Delmar, he was the son of the late Robert Willis Ma-rine and Hettie Ellen Ma-rine. He was preceded in death by a brother, William W. Barrall Sr., of Laurel.
His chosen career was the selling and repair of boats for the last 30 years under the name of M&H Marine, with a reputation of fairness and honesty.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sandra Lee Marine of Salisbury; a son, Richard Willis Marine Jr. and his wife, Ruby, of Honolulu, Hawaii; a son, Roger Willis Marine of Salisbury; grandchildren, Richard Willis Marine III and Joshua Robert Marine of Honolulu; a sister, Betty Hardesty of Laurel; a sister-in-law, Minnie Barrall of Salisbury; Uncle Otis and Rachel Marine of Hebron; Uncle Charles and Mary Anne Marine of Lake Placid, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, along with numerous close friends.
He was a loving husband and father, valued friend and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A part of him will continue to live on in the recipients of his tissue, bone and cornea transplants.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Laurel. Friends may call Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. The family would like everyone to please feel free to dress casually.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations sent to the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Department, 11794 Somerset Ave., Princess Anne, Md. 21853 in appreciation of all they did for him.

Herman Austin Woodall
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Herman Austin Woodall, 92, of Charlotte died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at his home.
He was born in Dan-ville, Va., to the late Lil-lian Booth Woodall and William Ro-bert Woodall.
Herman spent his entire career in the printing business, starting in Danville and finishing in Char-lotte. Outside of work, his main interests were his family, neighbors and his devotion to church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Compton Woodall, in 1988.
He is survived by his daughter, Jacklyn Woodall Jones and husband, William, of Ocean City; grandchildren, Ronald Alan Jones and wife, Patty, of Seneca, S.C., and Stephen Michael Jones and wife, Karen, of Huntersville, N.C.; and four great-grandchildren, Austin, Colin, Kara and Parker.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 2, at 2 p.m. at Midwood Baptist Church. The family received friends in the fellowship hall following the service and will also receive them today from 1 to 2 p.m. at Towne Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery in Danville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Midwood Baptist Church, 2029 Mecklenburg Ave., Charlotte, N.C. 28205.

Nadene Marnetta Hostetler
SNOW HILL -- Nadene Marnetta Hostetler, 42, of Snow Hill died Friday, April 2, 2004, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.
Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of Harold M. and Sylvia Miller Hostetler of Snow Hill.
Nadine was a member of Snow Hill Mennonite Church. She taught in Christian schools, including the Snow Hill Mennonite School. During the last several years she was a foster mother and a day-care provider for several dear children. Her desire was that her daughters would know the ways of God and that her life would be lived to the glory of God. She had served as secretary at Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. She enjoyed Bible studies and always reached out in love to people she met.
In addition to her parents, she is also survived by two daughters, Nancy and Jenna Hostetler of Snow Hill; four brothers and their spouses, Paul and Anna Hostetler of Dalton, Ohio, Maynard and Mary Hostetler of Snow Hill, Bennie and Miriam Hostetler of Benton, Ohio, and Nathan Hostetler of Snow Hill; three sisters and their spouses, Ida Mae and Leon Overholt of Minerva, Ohio, Lois and Lamar Ropp of Mission Home, Va., and Christina and James Kurtz of Snow Hill; 15 nieces; 15 nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Mennonite Church, where friends may call Sunday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service. The Rev. James Kurtz will officiate. Interment will be in Snow Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery in Snow Hill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Snow Hill Mennonite School, c/o Mrs. Linda Grove, 24642 Porter Mill Road, Hebron, Md. 21830.
Arrangements are being handled by Short Funeral Home.

Benjamin F. Brittingham Jr.
TRAPPE -- Benjamin "Ben" F. Brittingham Jr. of Trappe died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Memorial Hospital at Easton. He was 74.
Born April 6, 1929, in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. Sr. and Delta Gordy Brittingham.
Mr. Brittingham is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Knipe, whom he married Nov. 13, 1965; seven children, Lynne Burkhart of Martinsburg, W.Va., David Brittingham of York, Pa., Benjamin "Benji" Brittingham III and John Brittingham, both of Easton, William Todd Brittingham of Rustburg, Va., and Paula Snead and Melanie Brittingham, both of Easton; a sister, Barbara Henry of Ellicott City, Md.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., in Easton, where friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery in Easton.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Talbot County Unit, PO Box 1306, Easton, Md. 21601.

Francis H. Rigsby
OCEAN CITY -- Francis H. Rigsby, 75, of Ocean City died Thursday, March 4, 2004, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Waynesville, Mo., a son of the late Glenn and Belva Rigsby.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Ann Rigsby; a son, Mark Rigsby, and his wife, Linda, of Gaithersburg, Md.; a daughter, Marcia Rigsby of Ocean Pines; and three grandchildren.
He and Mrs. Rigsby moved here from Silver Spring, Md., in 1976. He was a salesman for Pana Systems of Georgetown and was a member of the Ocean City Marlin Club. He was an avid fisherman and doted on his dogs, Petey and Mitzi.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 11 a.m. at Ullrich Funeral Home on Route 50 in Berlin.
Contributions in his memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1504 Riverside Drive, Salisbury, Md. 21801 or the Bertha Holloway Scholarship Fund, Marlin Club Auxiliary, 12902 Kelly Bridge Road, Ocean City, Md. 21842.
Arrangements are by Ullrich Funeral Home in Berlin.

Frances M. Pentz
ST. MICHAELS, Md. -- Frances M. Pentz of St. Michaels died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Genesis ElderCare: The Pines in Easton. She was 85.
Mrs. Pentz is survived by two grandchildren, Christian Hayden Pentz and Jennifer Leigh Pentz. Her son, Benjamin Hayden Pentz, died in 1991.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Michaels. Private inurnment will be in Christ Church Columbarium.
Memorial donations may be made to the Christ Church Building Fund, PO Box S, St. Michaels, Md. 21663.
Arrangements are being handled by Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., in Easton.

George McClelland Staples III
OCEAN PINES -- George McClelland Staples III, 79, died at home with his family on Thursday, April 1, 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jeanne Kolb Staples; his daughter with Phoebe Wood, Mary Staples McCoy of Centreville, Md.; his children with Bette Gavin Staples, John Clark Gavin, Liz Gavin MacFarland and Victoria Staples Shequine; his stepchildren, George Strott, Stephen Strott and Andrea Strott Travis; and his 11 grandchildren, William Gavin IV, Jennifer Gavin, Edward Gavin, Quinn Gavin, Patrick Gavin, Kenneth MacFarland V, Billie MacFarland, Meredith Strott, Elliott Strott, Lindsay Travis and Jacob Travis. He is also survived by a sister, Alice Stales Gigax of Washington, and a brother, Allen Alford Staples of Kentucky.
A son, William W. Gavin III, preceded him in death.
Mr. Staples was born in Chicago, raised in Louisville, Ky., and spent most of his adult life on the Eastern Shore. A graduate of Rose Hulman College, he received his master's in chemical engineering from Columbia University. He served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater aboard the destroyer escort USS Samuel B. Roberts. After the war and graduate school, he began his career at DuPont. A long and varied career included employment with Joseph P. Seagrams, Wayne Pump and Northrup Grumman. He came to Maryland after he and his mother purchased the three-masted schooner, the Edward R. Baird. The ship sank in the Chesapeake Bay in a tropical storm off Crisfield.
Following retirement, he continued independent consulting in environmental engineering. Mr. Staples became active with the International Economic Development Association, traveling to Asia, Africa and Central America. At his death he was president of Good Water USA, developing the Biocell concept for wastewater treatment.
Over the years, he played clarinet in jazz bands. He was an accomplished sailor and amateur glider pilot. Regionally, he was well-known for his sculpture and mobiles, most on exhibit at Salisbury University. He was scoutmaster of the BSA and a Little League Coach. Mr. Staples was a long-standing member of the Engineering Society in Baltimore. Most recently he was an active member of the Ocean Pines Kiwanis Club and a volunteer at Atlantic General Hospital.
Services will be held at his church, St. Martin's in the Field in Selbyville, on Monday at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow.
