Donald L. Brooks
64, of Manchester
Donald Lee Brooks, 64, of Manchester, died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at his home.
Born Feb. 8, 1997, in Alesia, he was the son of the late Thomas and Jessie Harris Brooks. He was the husband of Carolyn A. Pierschek Brooks.
He retired from Harry M. Will, Inc., where he worked as a plumber.
He was a member of the Westminster Moose.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Jeffrey D. Brooks of Glen Rock, Pa.; a daughter, Donna C. Seets of Columbia; a brother, Thomas Brooks of Manchester; sisters Mable Walker of Alesia and Gladys Hull of Manchester; and six grandchildren.
He was predeceased by siblings Lawrence, Robert, Richard, and Arthur Brooks, Dorothy Weaver and Monza Green.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, with the Rev. Robert Rock officiating. Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll St., Westminster, Md. 21157.

M. Fred Cooper
91, of Reisterstown
M. Fred Cooper, 91, of Reisterstown, died suddenly Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at the Catonsville Commons Center from natural causes.
Born Oct. 16, 1905, in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Samuel and Kate Resh Cooper. He was the husband of Virginia Griffin Cooper, and formerly Ruth Keir, who died in 1979.
He was a 1925 graduate of Franklin High School, Reisterstown. He served with the 559th Anti-aircraft Battalion in Europe during World War II, where he saw action in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944.
He was a philanthropist and had worked for the Rand Corporation and the National Cash Register Corporation.
He was a member of the Reisterstown Lions Club, where he provided scholarship funds for exceptional and needy students and was awarded the Melvin B. Jones Award; the Fourth District Democratic Club; the Reisterstown Businessmen's Association; the Reisterstown, Glyndon and Owings Mills chambers of commerce; American Legion Post No. 200, Hampstead; and Stone Chapel United Methodist Church.
He was recognized as Citizen of the Year in 1990 by the Baltimore County Executives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Henry Keir Cooper of Sykesville; stepchildren Ragan Griffin of Reisterstown, Steve Griffin of Catonsville, and Veronica Ann Eichelberger of White Hall; two grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers Melvin Cooper and Paul Cooper, and a sister, Kathryn Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Glyndon United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 11605 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Russell S. Enos
82, of Randallstown
Russell S. Enos, 82, of Randallstown, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at his home.
Born June 23, 1915, in Marriotsville, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas and Genevieve Orem Enos. He was the husband of Bertha M. Howell Enos.
He was a retired auto and truck mechanic for Gulf Oil.
He enjoyed gardening and sports.
He is survived by daughters Shirley Palmer and Beverly Hall, both of Sykesville; a brother, Everett Enos of Randallstown; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by brothers Guy, Wade and Roger Enos, and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Loring Byers Funeral Home, 8728 Randallstown Road, Randallstown, with the Rev. Kenneth Humbert, pastor of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at the funeral home.

Murray E. Valentine
23, of Westminster
Murray Edward Valentine, 23, of Westminster, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at his home.
Born Sept. 4, 1974, in Gettysburg, Pa., he was the son of Dale Alan and Wanda Louise Meadows Valentine of Keymar.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Taneytown. He was a 1992 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, where he was active in baseball, basketball and soccer. He pursued his love of soccer and baseball by playing on teams in the Westminster area.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are sisters Terri Louise Beard of Taneytown, Tonya Lee Moody of Westminster; maternal grandmother Margaret Meadows of Keymar; paternal grandmother Lucille Valentine of Rocky Ridge; devoted friend Angie Barnes of Taneytown; one nephew; one niece and many aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Murray Valentine and Edward Meadows.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Keysville Lutheran Church, Keymar, with the Rev. James M. Russell officiating. Interment will be in Keysville Union Cemetery, Keymar.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Francis Scott Key High School Soccer Scholarship, Murray Valentine Memorial Fund, c/o F&M Bank, P.O. Box 489, Union Bridge, Md. 21791.

Esther N. Hart
70, of Manchester
Esther Naomi Hart, 70, of Manchester, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at her home.
Born July 8, 1928, in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Henrietta Lenora Bowman Bittinger. She was the wife of the late William Harvey Hart.
Surviving are daughters Denise F. Hart of Manchester, Drema Naomi Pursell of Florida, and Shelia Rae Scanlan of Winchester, Va.; sister Orpha E. Belford of Paw Paw, W.Va.; brothers Ellsworth I. Bittinger of Paw Paw, W.Va., Paul S. Bittinger of Westernport; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead. Interment will be in New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William C. Hough
87, of Frederick
William Clay Hough, 87, of Frederick, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at Washington Hospital Center, after an illness of five weeks.
Born Oct. 7, 1911, in Union Bridge, he was the son of the late Edgar C. Sr. and Nellie May Clay Hough. He was the husband of Esther Roop Hough, his wife of 55 years.
He was a 1928 graduate of Union Bridge High School. He was a member of Frederick Church of the Brethren, where he was a former Sunday school teacher of the Men's Bible Class. He was a former active member of the Linwood Brethren Church. He served in the Army during World War II in the 29th Yankee Division in France and Germany. He was formerly employed with I.A. Abb, later known as McHenry Auto Parts, as a parts manager for 30 years. During his retirement he enjoyed caning chairs and tutoring with the Literacy Council.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters and sons-in-law Mary H. and Louis Messler, Rebecca A. and Leo Duncan, all of Hagerstown, and daughter Martha R. Hough of Frederick; son and daughter-in-law Stephen C. and Patricia Hough of Falls Church, Va.; sister Helen Devilbiss of New Windsor; brother Edgar C. Hough Jr. of New Windsor; and seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by sister Margaret White.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Frederick Church of the Brethren, with his pastors, the Revs. Paul Mundey and Lerry Fogle officiating.
A private graveside service will be held in Pipe Creek Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public visitation.

Charles R. Kennedy
72, of Reisterstown
Charles J. Schleicher, 69, of Ellicott City, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at his home.
Charles Richard Kennedy, 72, of Reisterstown, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at home.
Born Sept. 17, 1926, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John P. and Margaurite Kennedy. He was the husband of June L. Kennedy.
He had been in the Merchant Marine, and was a Baltimore police officer. He was a member and finance officer of American Legion Post No. 116.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Patricia Ann Joy of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Lisa Ann Subock of Finksburg; sisters Grace G. Gemundt and Doris E. Smith, both of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road, Reisterstown, with clergy from Sacred Heart Church, Glyndon, officiating. Interment will be in Lorraine Park Cemetery, Baltimore.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Eugene L. `Frenchie' LeRoux
80, of New Windsor
Eugene Lester ``Frenchie'' LeRoux, 80, of New Windsor, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at his home.
Born Aug. 15, 1918, in Maryland, he was the son of the late Eugene and Margaret Boyle LeRoux. He was the husband of Ruth Virginia Babylon LeRoux.
He had been a painter with the state of Maryland, and was a member of the Sykesville-Freedom fire department.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are stepson Russell Babylon of Sykesville; stepdaughters Ruth Wire and Mary Hudak, both of Sykesville, Gail Mayne of Mt. Airy and Joyce Garland of Westminster; brother Thomas LeRoux of Florida; several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by stepson Wayne Babylon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Haight Funeral Home and Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.

Floyd E. Rimbey
66, of Hampstead
Floyd Eugene Rimbey, 66, of Hampstead, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at his home.
Born Aug. 29, 1932, in Reisterstown, he was the son of the late Claude Eugene and Margaret Jacobs Rimbey. He was the husband of Treva Ada Garrett Rimbey.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Hampstead, past commander and life member of Hampstead American Legion Post 200, Ionic Lodge No. 145 A.F.& A.M., VFW Post No. 467, AMVETS Post No. 22, Moose Lodge No. 1381, and the Republican Club of Hanover.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law Janice and Ronald Martin of Manchester, Carol and Luther Aberts of Hampstead, Susan and John Miller of Hampstead; sisters Betty Jones of Lutherville, Margaret ``Peggy'' Crowl of Woodensburg, and Dorothy Newell of Palm Harbor, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1371 North Main St., Hampstead, with the Rev. George E. Tuttle officiating. Interment will be in Hampstead Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main St., Hampstead, where the Hampstead American Legion Post 200 will conduct a memorial service during evening calling hours.

Theryl G. Robertson
77, of Baltimore
Theryl Gene Robertson, 77, of Baltimore, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at the Long Green Center, Baltimore.
Born Oct. 8, 1921, in Iowa, he was the son of the late Roy Taylor and Lorena Jones Robertson.
He had operated a pool hall and bowling alley. He served in the Army during World War II and had been a prisoner of war.
Surviving is his sister Erline B. North of Watermans, Iowa.
Funeral services and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., at a later date.
Arrangements are by Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville.

Marie Swanger
77, of Westminster
Marie Swanger, 77, of Westminster, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, at Carroll County General Hospital.
Born June 21, 1921, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Mary Wagner.
She attended the Deerfield Senior Center.
Surviving are daughter Gloria George of Jarrettsville; son Richard Allen of Baltimore; sister Elizabeth Stone of Westminster; brothers Michael and Louis Wagner, both of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Brigid's Catholic Church in Baltimore. Intemrent will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Thomas J. Skarda Funeral Home, 2829 Hudson Street, Baltimore.

Carroll L. Walsh
72, of Hampstead
Carroll Leroy Walsh, 72, of Hampstead died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at Carroll County General Hospital.
Born April 23, 1926, in Hampstead, he was the son of the late Charles and Bessie Rill Walsh. He was the husband of Virginia Myers Walsh, his wife of 52 years.
He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Hampstead, the Maryland Steam Historical Society, the National AACA and the Gettysburg AACA.
He is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws Wayne and Debbie Walsh, Ronald and Sandra Walsh, and daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Tom Corbin, all of Millers; brothers Sterling Walsh of Hampstead and Charles Walsh of Berlin; sisters Julia Gouge of Hampstead and Marie Treadway of Dunwoody, Ga.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday, 10 a.m., at the Eline Funeral Home, 934 S. Main Street in Hampstead with the Rev. Richard Brown-Whale officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church cemetery in Hampstead.
Friends may call Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary S. Azzarello
86, of Westminster
Mary Sarah Azzarello, 86, of Westminster, formerly of Inglewood, Fla., and Reisterstown, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at Westminster Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 23, 1913, in Birmingham, Ala., she was the daughter of the late G. and Rose Carnaggio Raimondi. She was the wife of the late Theodore J. Azzarello.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Inglewood, Fla., and a third order of Francisian Order.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Santo Joseph and Dolores Azzarello of Westminster; sister Connie Messina of Baltimore; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by brother Thomas Raymond.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church, Westminster, with Monsignor Arthur Valenzano officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Finksburg.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at Loring Byers Funeral Home, 8728 Liberty Road, Randallstown. A Christian Wake will be held at 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
