ANNA M. GREGORY
Anna M. Gregory, 81, Baltimore, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at the Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home, Oakland.
She was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Poland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton D. Gregory.
Survivors include one son, Joe Gregory, Eglon, W.Va.; one sister, Josephine Jadwiga, Poland; one brother, Michael Kopee, Poland; and one grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Thomas, W.Va., on Friday, with Father Lino Ebejer as celebrant. A graveside service was conducted Saturday, Jan. 29, at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Baltimore.
The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, was in charge of arrangements.

HELEN I. BURRELL
Helen Irene Burrell, 90, Kitzmiller, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Dec. 24, 1909, in Walnut Bottom, she was a daughter of the late John and Caroline (Davis) Tasker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Burrell, and two daughters, Irene Love and Mona Hershberger.
Survivors include one son, Gordie Harvey, Elk Garden, W.Va.; one daughter, Margie Rhodes, Keyser, W.Va.; one brother, Foster "Pete" Tasker, Walnut Bottom; one sister, Ruth Shaw, Westernport; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, Kitzmiller, where a service was conducted Sunday, Jan. 30, with the Rev. Donald Nelson officiating. Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery.

JOHN W. HOLMAN JR.
John Walker Holman Jr., 82, Oakland, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at the Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland.
Born Jan. 7, 1918, in Friendsville, he was a son of the late John W. Holman Sr. and Katherine (Diefel) Holman.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ireta (Umbel) Holman; one son, John W. Holman III, Accident; one daughter, Sandra L. Cruse, Canton, Ohio; one brother, Walace Holman, Annapolis; six grandchildren; and seven great-grand-children.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland, where a service was conducted Monday, Jan. 31, with the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating. Interment was in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.

MARY G. UMSTOT
Mary Grace Umstot, 87, Oakland, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland.
Born Feb. 21, 1912, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest and Grace (Wotring) Shirer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Umstot, in 1991.
She retired from the Garrett County Board of Education, after serving as its financial secretary for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include two sons, Edward S. Umstot, Memphis, Tenn., and John W. "Jay" Umstot, Oakland; one daughter, Christine Mosier, Wheaton; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Friends were received at the Durst Funeral Home, Oakland. A service was conducted at St. Paul's United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Feb. 1, with the Rev. Roger Harrison officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials take the form of contributions to St. Paul's United Methodist Church or the Southern Rescue Squad.

VIRGINIA CHABUT
Virginia (Clower) Fitzwater Chabut, 79, Elkins, W.Va., and more recently a resident at Elkins Convalescent Center, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at Davis Memorial Hospital, Elkins.
Born Dec. 9, 1920, in Piedmont, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Elmo Murry and Flora Mae (Poland) Clower. Twice married, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, William R. Fitzwater, on Nov. 25, 1961, in Oakland, and her second husband, Daniel James Chabut, on Dec. 1, 1977.
She was a 1938 graduate of Bruce High School, Westernport, and a 1941 graduate of the Potomac Valley Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at Elkins City Hospital from 1943 until 1945, and was the Randolph County (W.Va.) public health nurse for 23 years.
She was a member of the Citizens National Bank Board of Directors for 20 years and was a member of the Citizens Financial Corporation Board of Directors. She was a member of the Elkins-Randolph County Ambulance Authority Board of Directors and served as its treasurer for more than 25 years.
She was also a member of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center Board of Directors and was a charter member of the Meals on Wheels Board of Directors. She was a member of the Randolph County Senior Center, the Woman's Club of Elkins, the Degree of Honor Lodge No. 21, and the Grace Episcopal Church.
Survivors include one sister, Laura Nell (Clower) Hill, Westernport; and one step-son, Andrew Ray Chabut, Bloomingburg, N.Y.

JULIA L. BOZIC
Julia Louise Bozic, 88, Thomas, W.Va., died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas.
Born July 16, 1911, in Thomas, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Markovich and Mary (Patrick) Bozic. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bozic; two brothers, and three sisters.
She was a housewife and worked as a cook in the restaurant business. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert Franklin Bozic, Parsons, W.Va.; two daughters, Joanne Lambert, Montrose, W.Va., and Barbara Ann Cussins, Oakland; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the Hinkle Funeral Home, Davis, W.Va., where a wake service was conducted Wednesday evening. The funeral liturgy will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 3, with Father Lino Ebejer as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

NAOMI WALKER
Naomi Walker, 96, formerly of Luke and Bloomington, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born in Lost City, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late W. Julius and Maude B. (Shipe) Brumback. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Walker Sr., on Aug. 1, 1981, and one sister, June McKenzie.
She was a member of the Piedmont (W.Va.) Pentecostal Holiness Church and was an active member of the church's Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Moorehead, Westernport, and Beatrice Hershberger, Baltimore; five sons, Robert L. Walker Jr., Keyser, W.Va., Overton B. Walker, Westernport, the Rev. Forrest D. Walker, Conneaut, Ohio, the Rev. Ralph D. Walker, Rockingham, N.C., and Joseph S. Walker, Eufaula, Ala.; one sister, Bonnie Clayton, Luke; 20 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Friends were received the Fredlock Funeral Home, Piedmont, where a service was conducted at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 3, with the Rev. Ralph Walker and Joseph Walker officiating. Interment was in the Philos Cemetery, Westernport.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Tri-Towns Rescue Squad.

NANCY V. SANTOS
Nancy V. Santos, 43, Grafton, W.Va., and a former resident of Oakland, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at her home.
Born April 19, 1956, in Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Walter Gene and Loretta Madeline (Furlow) Geary.
She was a member of the Grafton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She worked at the FBI Center in Clarksburg, W.Va., as a computer analyst.
Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Daniel Santos; one brother, Gene Geary, LaVale; and one sister, Sylvia Robison, LaVale.
Cremation services were provided by Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown, W.Va. A memorial service will be conducted at the Grafton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, on Saturday, Feb. 5, at 1 p.m., with Shaun Palmateer officiating.

DOROTHY M. BOWEN
Dorothy May Bowen, 64, Baltimore, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore.
Born Nov. 7, 1935, near Terra Alta, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ward Scott and Winnie (Groves) May.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Stuart Bowen, Raleigh, N.C., and Charles Scott Bowen, Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, Robert S. May, Frederick; and one grandson.
A private memorial service will be conducted in Baltimore.
The family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.

MARGARET MILLER
Margaret (Broadwater) Miller, Accident, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000.
She was a daughter of the late Delbert and Ida (Wiley) Broadwater. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Boulden.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Miller; one son, Tim Miller, Frederick; two sisters, Alice Jackson, Baltimore, and Rella Sibley, Edgewood; two brothers, Garland Broadwater, Frostburg, and Delmas Broadwater, White Marsh; and two grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the Cvach/Rosedale Funeral Home, Baltimore, are private.

JENNIE MILLER
Jennie (Timney) Miller, 94, Friendsville, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing.
Born July 29, 1905, in Moscow, she was a daughter of the late John and Hettie (Warnick) Timney. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charley B. Miller, and her son, Charles Edward "Eddie" Miller.
While in high school, she was an all-star basketball and volleyball player, and was a member of two statewide championship teams. After graduating from Frostburg Normal School (now Frostburg State University) in 1927, she began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse in Selbysport, remaining there for 12 years. In the 1960s, she was one of the first Head Start teachers in Garrett County. She spent most of her career as an elementary school teacher in Friendsville, retiring in 1970. She was a member of Bear Creek Church of the Brethren, where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher and deaconess.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Cormeny, Baltimore; two brothers, Harrison "Buck" Timney, Lonaconing, and Daniel "Tucker" Timney, Barton; three sisters, Mary Cooper and Ruth Phillips, both of Lonaconing, and Helen Miller, New Orleans, La.; and three granddaughters.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday. A service will be conducted at the Bear Creek Church of the Brethren, Accident, on Friday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. William Shimer officiating. Interment will follow in the Bear Creek Church Cemetery.
