ROBERT E. WHITE, SR.
WEST ENFIELD - Robert E. White, Sr., 74, husband of Dorothy (Day) White, died April 28, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Woodville, July 30, 1928, the son of Claude and Minnie (Beathem) White. Bob was an Army Veteran serving in the Honor Guard in Germany from 1950 to 1952. He loved the outdoors, working in his garden and landscaping his yard. He also loved plowing snow in the winter, camping in the summer, and working with bulldozers and dump trucks. He worked sixteen years for the Town of Lincoln, twenty years for E H Downs, and 10 years for Maine to Elbridge and Orris (Gilpatrick) Cleaves. On Dec. 17, 1941, she married Glenn C. Adams of Linneus, with whom she had three children and a wonderful life together for 33 years.
Ardis had a loving, long life with her family and friends. She worked for the State of Maine Guide and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She loved the logging business, had her own woods crews, and developed sub-divisions in Mattamiscontis and Edinburg. She also served as Edinburg Town Clerk, worked for the Red Cross and drove taxi for many years.
She is survived by a son, Gerald Anderson of Alaska; two daughters, Sylvia Belanger and Albert Belanger, Sr. of Glenburn and Louise Ferguson and Norman Niles of Edinburg; six grandchildren, Rod Anderson, and Roy Anderson, both of California and Eric Ferguson and Marcia of Elizabeth City, N C.; 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, William Ayers, and a sister Emma Jordan.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Spring intermenty will be in Edinburg Cemetery.

RALPH E. BARNETT
BROOKTON-Ralph E. Barnett, 79, died December 3, 2003 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Somerville, MA, January 9, 1924 the son of Francis and Marguerite (Weymouth) Barnett. Ralph was a member of the Mason's and the Danforth Methodist Church. Ralph was a civil engineer. He owned his own business as a tax preparer, and was active up until his death. He was a past president of the Augusta Board of Alderman , and a former member of the 99th State House of Representatives and ran for state senate in 2002. Ralph also belonged to the University of California; and his constant companion, Maggie, the Scottish terrier. He was pre deceased by his wife Ellen (Neal) Barnett; and his brother, Jerome H. Barnett. A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2003 at the Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, Houlton Road, Danforth. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m., Friday, December 5, 2003 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2003, at the Danforth Methodist Church with the Rev. Leon Robinson officiating. Internment will be in Eaton Cemetery.

Friends and relatives are invited to the Brookton-Forest City Community Center for refreshments after the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Danforth Methodist Church. Donations may be left at the funeral home.

GLENNIS M. BOWKER
LEE - Glennis M. Bowker, 72, wife of the late Halton Bowker, died Nov. 3, 2003, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born in Lee, April 18, 1931, the daughter of John Ernest Gifford and Ida (Chesley) Gifford. Glennis attended Lee Schools and graduated from Lee Academy. For years, she worked as a supermarket clerk at Giguere's, Columbia, Shop N Save, and Lounsbury's, all at the same location in Lincoln. After retirement, she and Halton enjoyed spending their winters in Zephyrhills, Texas; a son, Michael and his wife, Kelly of Lee; four granddaughters, Jessica and Erin Goodwin of Longview Florida. She was a faithful member of the CMA church in Lee.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Goodwin of Longview Texas; Miranda Bowker of Lee and Amy Wilson, of Lincoln; a grandson, Cory Bowker of Lee; a brother, John Gifford and his wife Kim; and a nephew, Justin Gifford. In addition to her husband, Halton she was predeceased by a son, Halton Bowker, Jr. and a nephew, Joshua Gifford.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vince Hartford officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Joshua Gifford Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations may be left et the funeral home.

INZA R. BRAGG
MILLINOCKET - Inza R. Bragg, 69, died Sept. 21, 2003, at a Millinocket hospital. She was born in Maine, the daughter of Fred Corbett and Cora (Fitch.) Blanche was the fifth of ten children.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Brown, and children, Donald Brown and Charlotte Fullerton. Survivors include sons, Theodore and Emerson Brown and sister, Gladys Preble. Blanche was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Our beloved Blanche will always be in our hearts and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held in the spring. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home - Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth.

MARGARET A. BRYER
LINCOLN - Margaret A. Bryer, 83, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, January 1, 2004, with close members of her family at her side at Penobscot Valley Hospital. She was born July 1, 1920 in Pictou, Nova Scotia, the daughter of the late William R. and Elizabeth M. (McDonald) Campbell. Margaret was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked many years at the South Lincoln Nursing Home as a nurse's aide. She loved sharing her stories of the good old days of waitressing and potato picking. She will be remembered as an avid bowler and competed in many tournaments held at Lakeside and Broadway Lanes. She was very passionate about the long drives to the coast and being with family. She had a special place in her heart for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by family, a special friend, Bonnie Murray, and her extended family at Cummings Health Care facility. Margaret was predeceased by her husbands, Everett E. Bryer and George H. Dunbar; granddaughter, Deborah L. Batchelder; sisters, Dorothy Cobb, Emily Bradford; brothers, Alfred, Russell, and Harold Campbell. She is survived by her daughters Sheila E. and Randy L. Vaillancourt of Howland and Brenda J. and Eddie Overlock of Levant; grandchildren, Bryan and Sheila Batchelder of Levant, Russell and Tina Batchelder of Enfield, Ronald and Sharon Wallace Jr. of Howland, Kathy Overlock of Vermont, July 10, 1926, the son of Ernest and Anna (Sears) Burridge. He was a U S Army Veteran of World War II. Robert was a member of the D.A.V and the N. R.A, he also enjoyed hunting. He is survived by two daughters, Roberta Leonard and her husband David of Howland, and Anna Jenkins and her husband Richard of Beulaville, N.C.; two sisters, Esther Boberg of Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Joey Leonard, Joan Leonard, Kenny Leonard, Matthew Leonard, John Leonard, Amy Washburn, Shaun Washburn, Myron Wadleigh, Jr., Robert Wadleigh and Melinda Wadleigh; 16 great grandchildren, Cregan Leonard, Reese Leonard, Shawn Ireland, Rachel Ireland, Kelly Ireland, Jeffrey Handy, BrČAnna Leonard, Zachary Leonard, Chelsie Chandonait, Michael Durrstein, Brandon Himes, Blake Shyver, Austin Wadleigh, Katie Wadleigh, Hayley Wadleigh, and Hunter Wadleigh. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Charles Burridge and two sisters, Edith Sicardo and Ethel Lapan. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at the Community Evangel Temple, Access Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating. CHARLOTTE F. BURRILL
WINN - Charlotte F. Burrill, 61, wife of the late Oliver Burrill, Sr., died Dec. 12, 2003, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born March 8, 1942, in Kingman, the daughter of Ruel and Alice (Munson) Worster. Charlotte was well known for her knitting and crocheting. She is survived by a son, Timothy Burrill of Mattawamkeag; four daughters, Frances Burrill, of Mattawamkeag, Violet Burrill of Lee, Carla Burrill of Mattawamkeag and Kimberly Burrill of Winn; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Eric, Heather, Douglas, Melissa, David, Timothy and Emilie; four great-grandchildren, R. J., Cassandra, Ryan and Hunter; a half sister, Mary Bragg of Springfield; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Oliver Douglas Burrill, Jr., and a grandson, Shane Oliver. Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve McNally officiating. Interment will be in Kingman Cemetery.

EARL BURRILL, JR.
CARROLL - Earl Burrill, Jr., 72, died Sept. 12, 2003, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born in Lincoln, April 17, 1932, the son of the late Earl & Ethel (Severance) Burrill. He was predeceased by a sister, Gladys and four brothers, Benoni, Oliver, Basil and Robert. Junior is survived by fourteen brothers and sisters, Zara Worster; George and his wife, Linda; Charlie; Peter and his wife, Starr; Bennie and his wife, Marilyn; David and his wife, Janet; Marcia Severance and her husband, Elbridge; all from Carroll and Springfield; John and his wife, Jean of Codyville; James and his wife, Della of Kingman; Madeline Tripp of Hersey Town; Flora Linscott of Millinocket; Virginia Downs and Josephine A. Hopkins, both of Lincoln; also of Lincoln, Ruby Thurlow and her husband, Tom, with whom he resided and who had the privilege to be his caregivers from March 30, 2003 until he went into Penobscot Valley Hospital, the morning of Sept. 10, 2003; several nieces and nephews; a special uncle, Linwood Severance and his wife, Phyllis. Junior also had many friends of whom he was very fond and who greatly cared for him, four of them being Mae and George Brault of Acushnet, Mass and Judy and Bruce Farren of Walpole.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2003, at the Clay Funeral Home 7 Lee, Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept 16, 2003, at the funeral home, with Mr. Robert Jordan of Chester, officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Donations in Earl's memory may be left at the funeral home, and will be greatly appreciated.

ELSIE R. BUTTERFIELD
MILLINOCKET AND MOLUNKUS - Elsie R. Butterfield, 87, wife of the late Albert Butterfield, passed away Aug. 4, 2003, from cancer, at her home in Millinocket. She was born in Danforth, July 20, 1916, the daughter of the late Delbert and Adelia (McLaughlin) Russell. Elsie attended Danforth Schools. She and Albert built their own home and settled in Molunkus, where they farmed and raised their children. Elsie worked as a cook for Atlas Plywood, Red Apple Camps, the Deer Run Sporting Camps and the Anchor Inn in Molunkus. She also worked in East Millinocket at a Restaurant owned by Ellis New Jersey; a sister, Velma Russell of Green e, a brother, Lawrence Russell of Bucksport; seven grandchildren, Paula Butterfield, Laurie and her husband, Jody Lecrone, Joseph and his wife Sue Butterfield, Shawn Butterfield, Wade L. Bell, Wendy Collins, and Melissa and her husband, Enoch J. York; ten great-grandchildren, Crystal Hannington, Shannon Hannington, Krystal Collins, Kharyn Collins, Jonathan Bell, Jason Bell, Joshua Bell, Shawn Butterfield, Jr., Casey Butterfield, and Haley Butterfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Winn, with the Rev. Dr. Lance Almeida and the Rev. Robert Butler officiating. Interment will be in Macwahoc Cemetery. FRANCES (PIRAINO) CAMERON
LINCOLN - Frances (Piraino) Cameron, 95, wife of Walter Cameron, died Jan. 3, 2004 at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born in Palermo, Italy, Nov. 24, 1908, the daughter of Ettora and Serafino Piraino. Married Dec. 17, 1937, Walter and Frances just recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary.
They lived in Brookton until 1938, when they moved to Lincoln where they operated the Silver Star Cleaners for many, many years. Frances was a member of Community Evangel Temple. A Sunday School Teacher for 75 years, she was the 1995-1996 recipient of the Henrietta Mears Award for being National Sunday School Teacher of the Year. She was a member of the Republican Women's Club.

In addition to her husband, Walter, she is survived by very special nieces, Fauna Small and Dawn Small of Camden; special nephews, Robert Cameron of Portland and Jon Small of Bangor; a special friend, Charlotte Whitley of Lincoln; a sister, Betty Agolia of Brooklyn, NY; three brothers, Dan Piraino of San Diego, CA; Ettore Piraino of Claremont, CA and John Piraino of Duncan Hills, Long Island, NY; several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Celia Gibson, Jane Rouleau and Rose Beals.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Community Evangel Temple, 124 Riverside Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Brookton. LELAND F. "STU" CAMPBELL
MACWAHOC - Leland F. "Stu" Campbell, 72, died Nov. 26, 2003, at his home. He was born in East Corinth, Mar. 19, 1931, the son of Maurice and Sylvia (Foss) Campbell. Stu served in the U S Armed Services in Korea where he received two purple hearts for being wounded in action. He later served in the MP's in Germany. During his younger years, he was for hire as a mercenary. He was a Game Warden during the 1950's, served on the police force in Bangor and was Police Chief in Mattawamkeag for a time. Stu was a Registered Master Parker of Macwahoc; a daughter, Cheryl DeSalvatore, her husband Tony and their children, Tony, Jr., Matthew, Lindsay, Ashley and Daniel; a son, Douglas Scott Campbell and his wife Carrie of Bangor; special stepson, Terry Whittier, stepson, Greg Jimmo, stepdaughters, Kim Jacobs and Karen Crommett; brother, Wilbur F. Campbell and his wife, Pearl of Bangor; beloved brother, Sumner Campbell and his wife Donna of East Corinth; very special, beloved niece and nephew, Sonya Bragdon and Shawn Campbell; seven great nieces and great-nephews.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Root, pastor of the Danforth Pentecostal Church officiating. Interment will be in New Macwahoc Cemetery.

BERTHA M. "BETTY" CAREY
Lincoln-Bertha M. "Betty" Carey, 76, wife of the late James Carey, died September 27, 2003 at a Lincoln hospital. She was born in Brookton, May 11, 1927, the daughter of Irving G. and Beryl D. (Lyon) Thornton. Betty was a graduate of Lee Academy and worked at Bailey Drug Store and JJ Newberry. She enjoyed knitting and had many, many friends who cared for her during her illness, allowing her to stay in her home. She is survived by three sons, Brian and his wife Linda of East Millinocket, Scott and his wife Rosemary of Lansing, Kansas and Kevin and his wife Debbie of Winn; one daughter, Kelly Smith and her husband Donnie of Milford; eight grandchildren, Patrick, Megan, James, Shawn, Chris and Jamie Carey and Melissa and Jason Smith; one brother, Vaughn Thornton of Green ville; one sister, Hazel Noyes of Topsfield; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband James, she was predeceased by two sisters, Grace Thornton and Marjorie McNeil and a brother, Wayne Thornton. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2003 at the Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Foundation-Northern New England Chapter, 6 Chenell Dr., Suite 260, Concord, NH 03301. CARL E. CAREY
HOWLAND- Carl E. Carey, 70, husband of Charlene (Buzzell) Carey, died Sept. 27, 2003 at a Howland healthcare facility. He was born June 27, 1933 in Mattawamkeag, the son of Henry and Mildred (Hurlbert) Carey. Carl served in the Air Force from 1953-1957. He owned and operated Carey's General Store in Winn from 1966-1977. Carl was a member of the Masonic Composite Lodge #168 in Lagrange and the Mormon Church in Lincoln. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 27, 2002.
In addition to his wife, Charlene, he is survived by two daughters, Gloria Dahlgren and her husband Kirk of Detroit and Marilyn Voisine of Brewer; three grandchildren, Michael Jandreau, Jr. and his wife Beth of Medway, Geizette Voisine and her friend Thomas Witherly of Newport and Marlene Voisine of Bangor; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Dill and Heidi Jandreau; seven brothers and sisters, Ruth Afholderbach and LeRoy Carey and his wife Sharon, all of Zephyrhills, FL, Delmont Carey and his wife Inez and Norman Carey and his friend Marsha Lawless, all of Howland, Rebecca Martin of Hampden, Eldora Merrill and her husband Robert of Long Beach, Washington, North Carolina; a daughter Nadia and her husband James Wotton of Lincoln; two grandsons and two granddaughters, Joshua and Kelsey Wotton of Lincoln, and Samantha and Nathaniel Carlow of Ashville, North Carolina; six brothers and four sisters. He was predeceased by his first wife, Grace (Brown) Carlow.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Sept, 24, 2003, at the Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice, P O Box 208, Lincoln ME 04457. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd, Lincoln.
