NATALIE (KNEELAND) LINDSAY
LINCOLN - Natalie (Kneeland) Lindsay, 98, died Nov 6, 2004, at an Orono healthcare facility. Natalie was born in Lincoln on August 22, 1906, the daughter of William and Bertha (Staples) Kneeland. After graduating from Mattanawcook Academy's Class of 1925, she attended Beal Business College. Nat was then employed in the office of Lincoln Fine Paper for many years. In later years she was Assistant Librarian in the Lincoln Public Library. She always enjoyed her work. Nat married the late Verne Lindsay in Lincoln, where they lived on High St. the rest of their lives. Their only child, Gareth Lindsay predeceased her in 1986. Natalie and Verne enjoyed the out of doors, hunting and fishing, and their cottage on Cold Stream Pond. She was an avid Bridge player, meeting with her friends once a week.
Natalie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Diana (Lakeman) Lindsay; two grandchildren, Karen Lindsay of Orlando, Maine; two great grandchildren, Karen's son ReneÇ and Dan and Sandy's daughter Makayla; a brother, Harold Kneeland; a nephew, Steve Kneeland; and four nieces who have lovingly cared for her, Natalie Adath Stormann of Milford, Gloria Salisbury of Veazie, Nadia Rand Shirley of Old Town and Betty Comstock of Orono.

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society in her memory. Gifts may be left at Clay Funeral Home.

GEORGIA E. MARTIN
Howland-Georgia was an avid gardener, and enjoyed her retirement kayaking, traveling and reading "You will always be missed and never be forgotten."
She is survived by two sons, Anthony of Howland and Christopher of Passadumkeag; two daughters, Melanie Lavertu and Tami Colbath & her husband, Randy, all of Howland; ; five sisters, Elizabeth Hoxie and her husband George, of West Enfield, Gloria Faloon and her husband Glendon, of Howland, Charyl Gonzalez and her husband, Reggie of Lewiston, Lois Crawford and her husband Robin, of Lincoln and Colleen McCormick and her husband, Dalton of Lewiston; grandchildren, Seth, Bianca, Sarah, Jonathan, Garrett, Kelsy, Nolan, Gavin, Brittany, Brooke, Erynne, Bryce; one great-grandchild; Seth Emery Joseph Martin Colbath, Jr.; special friends, Gina, Uda, Carlyn and Inez; her two cats, Max and Zachary; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, "Bee", she was predeceased by a sister, Betty, and her step-father, Louis Leveille.

Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the West Enfield Cemetery, with the Rev. Andre Houle officiating. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.

MATTIE L. MERRILL
LEE - Mattie Leila (Cobb) Merrill, 96, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, sister and friend, died November 5, 2004 in Lincoln. She was born in Lee, August 23, 1908, the daughter of Elmer and Leila (Hooke) Cobb. Mattie was a 1926 graduate of Lee Academy and Lee Normal School Program and taught school for a short time. She resided in Lee with her husband of 53 years, Charles W. Merrill, who predeceased her in 1980 and they raised three children.
She was a woman of steadfast faith and strength, an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a member of the Lee Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving as Sunday School Superintendent and was involved in a variety of church functions and activities. She was an excellent cook and utilized her culinary skills in the school hot lunch program and also as a chef in the 60's when she and her husband were employed in Christian schools and camps in Green wich, New York City and Long Lake in Harrison, Me. In their retirement years, Mattie and Charles enjoyed wintering in Leesburg, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, Sharon Newey, Edwin Goodwin, Elaine Goodwin-Thomas; Fred Goodwin, Janet Goodwin-Eddy, Jeffrey Goodwin, Carol Goodwin, Erlene Goodwin, all of Tennessee and Robin Griffin of Birmingham, Vermont, Sharon Quesada and her husband Norm from Enfield, Michael Shorey and his wife Karen from Vermont, and her sons' father, Kelton Bates from Patten, as well as seven precious grandchildren, Abraham, Amy, Luke, Corrine, Kassie, Kristina and Kelsey. She also had many nieces, nephews and friends.
Corace lived in Maine to take care of her mother she did nursing for CHC and Area Home Health Care. She was loved by her patients and their families. Her sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew her. She spent many days fishing at Nicatous Lake. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. May God bless her soul.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carolyn Metzler officiating.

DORA E. MILLETT
Lincoln-Dora E. Millett, 79, died Sept. 15, 2004 at a Lincoln healthcare facility. She was born Oct. 15, 1924, in Lincoln, the daughter of Gordon S. and Eva M. (Delano) Kelly. Dora was a life member of the Lincoln United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Gerald Millett and his wife Gladys of Enfield; a daughter, Emily Barker and her husband Bruce Barker, Sr. of Lincoln; a brother, Eugene Kelley and his wife Ardel of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Kelly of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Bruce Barker, Jr., Jonathan Barker, Shaughn Millett, Rebecca Tardif and Heather Millett Peare; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, William Kelly.

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young officiating. Interment will be in South Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Penobscot Valley Humane Society. Donations may be left at the funeral home.

HELEN M. PAGE
LINCOLN - Helen M. Page, 76, wife of the late George M. Page, died unexpectedly, Nov. 19, 2004, in Lincoln. She was born July 19, 1928, in Burlington, the daughter of Harry J. and Myrtle V. (Sibley) Soucie. Helen was a foster mother for more than 30 years and raised several children. She held that job until the time of her death. She worked for KFI for many years, and at the school. Just a few months ago, she took a job as a greeter at Wal-Mart.
She is survived by ten children, Claudette Day and Charles of West Enfield, Christine Page, Deborah Taylor and Vernon, Susan Pinkham and Timothy Baker, and Lisa Savage and Mike Tibbetts, all of Lincoln; George Page and Bonnie of Farmington, Connie Birmingham, and Michael Page and Nancy, all of Lincoln, Kimberly Thomas of Dover and Thomas Page of Lincoln; two brothers, Howard Shorey and Edythe of Burlington, and David Florida; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, George, she was predeceased by a son, David Allen Page, as well as several brothers and sisters.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery.

NINA (McCORMICK) WILLIAMS PEASE
DANFORTH and BROCKTON, MASS - Nina (McCormick) Williams Pease, 80, wife of Donald Pease, died July 18, 2004, in Danforth. She was born in Danforth, Dec. 28, 1923, the daughter of Edison and Ella (Lockhart) McCormick.
Nina loved church and religious music. She loved her family and loved kisses. She married Clarence Williams and they had three children, Blaine Williams, Royce Williams and Frances Lee. In addition to her husband, Donald Pease of Brockton, Mass, her son Blaine Williams and her daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Alonzo Lee, all of Danforth, she is survived by a step-daughter, Donna Verdon, two sisters, Glenna Stiles of Ohio and Lewis Golding of Pennsylvania. Rhonda had a hard life, and she will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her father, Chief Big Eagle of Carroll Plt., two sons, Maurice Richardson of Chicago, Ill., and Tracy Jacobs of New Haven, Conn.; two brothers, Rickey Piper of New York City, the son of James and Mildred (Black) Pettit. He was a graduate of Kent's Hill in Readfield and Wentworth Institute in Boston. Before moving to Lincoln, he worked for Fairchild Semiconductor in South Portland and Corning Components in Biddeford. He and Helen moved to Lincoln in 1976 where they owned and operated W & H Electronics for 27 years. Bill was active in municipal affairs in Lincoln, and was a member and past president of the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Lincoln Rotary Club and served as Warden at St. Hugh-of-Lincoln Episcopal Church. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and the Order of the Arrow.
In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by a son, James, his wife Valerie, and their son, William of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters and brother, Carol Deane Wildman and her husband, Dr. Edward Wildman of Burlington, Vt; Margaret Pettit Caplow and her husband, Dr. Theodore Caplow of Earlysville, Va.; Charlotte Anne Pettit and her husband, James Hanna of Alpharetta, Ga.; and D. George Pettit and his wife, Barbara, of Houlton; a nephew, David Wildman and a niece, Chelsey Pettit.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m Tuesday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Winn, with the Rev. Carolyn Metzler officiating. Those who wish may donate in his memory to St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Donations may be left at the funeral home.

BERNICE H. (KNIGHTS) PUTNAM
BROOKTON - Bernice Hazel (Knights) Putnam, 95, died Oct. 25, 2004, at a Houlton healthcare facility. She was born June 4, 1909, in Brookton, the daughter of Alfred Hiram Knights and Lucy Adeline (Cole) Knights. Bernice was a life long resident of Brookton and a member of the Brookton Baptist Church.
She is survived by four step-sons, Charles, Joe, Donald and Russell; two step-daughters, Priscilla and Patricia; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two husbands, Otis Kinney and Charles Putnam; as well as three brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Brookton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Peter Grenier and the Rev. Clayton Crocker officiating. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Brookton Baptist Church. Interment will be in Eaton Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Brookton Baptist Church. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home - Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth.

EVELYN ROBICHAUD SCOTT
MATTAWAMKEAG - Evelyn Robichaud Scott, 92, wife of the late Herman Scott, died Oct. 11, 2004, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born April 19, 1912 in Chester, the daughter of Jacob and Alice (McCafferty) Robichaud. She was a graduate of Mattawamkeag High School in 1931. Married July 12, 1930, she and Herman were life-long residents of Mattawamkeag, where they owned and operated a general store (Scott's Esso) for approximately 35 years. She was well known for her Italian Sandwiches which were sold in Penobscot and Aroostook counties for many years. Her favorite hobby was her plants and flowers. Over the years, she had been active in both St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Winn and the United Methodist Church in Mattawamkeag. She was Past Noble Grand of Ivaloo Rebekah Lodge No. 80 of Lincoln, and Past Worthy Matron of Pine Grove Chapter No. 55 of Mattawamkeag.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Wyman and husband Richard of Springfield, VA; grandsons, Jason Wyman and wife Miriam of Naperville, IL and great granddaughters Annlouisa and Jacquelyn; and Aaron Wyman and wife Sara of Baltimore, MD and great granddaughter Julia; a brother, Vernon Robichaud and wife Norma of Mattawamkeag; sisters-in-law Annette Robichaud of Brewer and Yvette Robichaud of West Springfield, MA ; nieces, Betty Schick of Lincoln, Darlene Oakes of Wallingford, CT, and Patricia Dexter of Brewer; a nephew: David Robichaud of Ashland, NH; an uncle, Edward McCafferty, Sr., of Mattawamkeag and several cousins. In addition to her parents and her husband, Herman, who died November 15, 1994, she was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Robichaud and Robert Robichaud.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Leon Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Mattawamkeag Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church. Donations may be left at the funeral home.

LENORA DEAN "LONIE" STURGEON SPENCER
LINCOLN - Lenora Dean "Lonie" Sturgeon Spencer, 93 died Oct. 11, 2004, at her home. She was born April 27, 1911, in Barnard, the daughter of Charles A. and Madeline (Damerill) Dean. Lonie had been a member of the Chit Chat Club, The Pilgrim Daughters, the Junior Extension, and the First Congregational Church of Lincoln. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was married first to Lawrence R. "Buster" Sturgeon, and later to Clarence Spencer, and was predeceased by both of them.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence D. "Bing" Sturgeon and his wife, Joan and Barry Sturgeon, all of Lincoln; a sister, Mary Jackson of Portsmouth, NH; two grandchildren, Linda and her husband, John Lombard of Veazie; and Russell Sturgeon and his wife, Linda of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four great-grandchildren, Russell and Grant Lombard of Veazie, and Joseph and Paige Sturgeon of Colorado Springs; sixteen nephews and three nieces; two step-daughters, Madeline Spencer, and Janet and her husband, David Mullen; three step grandchildren, Kenneth and Penny Spencer and Michael Mullen. Lonie was predeceased by three brothers, Arnold, Donald and Frank Dean; and six sisters, Helen Chadbourne, Madeline Johnson, Ruth Copeland, Veltina Spencer, Edna Carroll, and Shirley Dean.

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, or donations in her memory may be made to the First Congregational Church of Lincoln. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
