Dewaine was born December 27, 1923 in Marathon Twp., The son of the late Roland and Clarissa Aurand ( Plumb ) Dewaine retired from the Pontiac Parts Plant in 1981, and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, and friends. Dewaine is survived by his nephews: Erwin ( Susan ) O’Dell of Marshall, Raymond ( Ascha ) O’Dell of CO, Vernon ( Linda ) O’Dell of NC, Roland Carter of CA, Rex ( Gail ) Carter of Whittemore, Thomas ( Laura ) Carter of AR, Glen ( Joyce ) Aurand of Brutus, Nieces: Delores O’Dell of Flint, Louise Sansbury of TN, and Ann ( George ) O’Reilly of Trenary. He is also survived by his close friends Roy ( Dorothy ) Griswold of Columbiaville. Clarence "Bill" Allen

Allen, Clarence "Bill", Age 76, of Columbiaville died August 4, 2003 at his grandsons residence. Bill was born December 4, 1926 in Pontiac. The son of the late Howard and Marie Allen (Bates). Bill served his country honorably in the US Army, and worked for the City of Flint Water Department till 1963 and Pontiac Motors till 1979. He was a member of Oxford American Legion Post 0108, Otter Lake VFW 2409, and a past member of the Otter Lake American Legion Post 504. He was also a lifetime member of the Columbiaville Sportsman’s Club and NRA. Bill is survived by his daughters: Cindy ( Paul ) Berlin of Otter Lake, Susan ( Billy ) Long of AL, Brothers: Howard Allen of Oxford, Lester Allen of Glennie, Sister: Joanne ( Roy ) Rodabaugh of Flint, and his grandchildren: Jeff ( Carrie ), Jeremy ( Mona ), Amy ( Jamie ), Julie ( Joey ), Melody ( Ronnie ), and 16 great grandchildren. Carl Gerwolds, Age 81, of Columbiaville died August 10, 2003 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. David Carl Gerwolds was born August 4, 1922 in Oregon Twp. to the lateDavid H. and Clara C. Gerwolds ( McEnally ). He later married Barbara Magill in Flint on June 11, 1949 Carl served his country honorably in Army Air Corps during WW II. He retired from the Industrial Mutual Association in 1987, where he was a storekeeper. He owned Gerwolds Hardware and Gas Service in Columbiaville, and was a past member of the Columbiaville Rotary Club. Carl enjoyed traveling and staying at his cottage at Canada Creek, most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Barbara, Sons: Dennis ( Close friend Tina Balla-Cyman ), David, Daughters: Brenda ( Gail ) Fuller, Beth Brown, Sister: Mary Lucelia Younker, and 10 Grandchildren, and 10 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grand-daughter Kaylee. A funeral mass will be held Thursday 10 AM from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville. Father Francis Faraci celebrant. Curtis, Elizabeth A., age 81, of Columbiaville died August 15, 2003 at Suncrest Nursing Home. Beth was born August 4, 1922 in Lapeer, the daughter of the late Will and Ida Pearce ( Retherford ). She later married Carl J. Curtis, who preceded her death in 1991 . Beth took pleasure in needle point, music, and swimming. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons: Rolla ( Jo Ellen ) Curtis, Jim ( Maxine ) Curtis, Edwin Curtis all of Columbiaville, daughters: Mary Jane ( Wilbert ) Borck of Lapeer, Susan ( Marty ) Breinager of Millington, Laura ( Willie ) Comstock of Columbiaville, sisters: Katherine Inman, Mary Jane Congdon both of Lapeer, Charlotte ( Charles ) Batzloff of Columbiaville, Fran Schuler of Chicago, 18 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great-Grandson. She is also survived by her close friend Gordon Boehmer of North Lake and was preceded in death by her brother Bill Pearce. The daughter of the late Richard and Josephine Yates ( Rodriquez ). Cynthia served her country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a member of the Columbiaville Assembly of God Church. Ronald P. Jarvis, Age 85, of Columbiaville died September 20, 2003 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. Ron was born November 12, 1917 in Lapeer. The son of the late Arthur and Mary Florence Jarvis ( Redmond ). He later married Gertrude G. Ross in Columbiaville on March 20, 1945. Ron served his country honorably in the Amy Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of the Jaycees of Lapeer, Lapeer Historical Society and Columbiaville United Methodist Church. He retired from Prudential Insurance in 1983, and was a long term columnist for the Lapeer County Press, Flint Journal, and Davison Flag Staff. Ron is survived by his loving wife Gertrude, Son: Ross ( Terri ) Jarvis of Columbiaville, Daughters: Jo Ann ( Wayne ) Jarvis-Jackson of Columbiaville, Gayle ( Kirk ) Lindsay of Kalamazoo, Brother: Elmer Jarvis of Lapeer. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Marvin, Sister’s Lera and Genevieve. Taylor, Frank W., Age 67, of Columbiaville died October 26, 2003 at his residence. Frank was born June 18, 1936 in Flint, the son of the late George W. and Verna G. Taylor ( Ramsey ). He later married Gayle J. Taylor in Columbiaville on September 30, 1977. Frank served his country honorably in the Army Reserves. He retired from CPC Flint Engine in 1990, and was a member of UAW # 659. He was an avid sportsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golfing. Frank is survived by his dear wife Gayle, Son: Frederick W. Taylor of Ann Arbor, Daughters: Robin ( Michael ) Porter of FL, Catrina ( Ray ) Gann of Columbiaville, Darlene ( Christopher ) George of Otisville, Brother: Richard “Dick” ( Rev. Connie ) Taylor of OK, Sisters: Jean ( Max ) Sharp of Flushing, Carolyn Potter of Sand Pointe, and Nancy ( Pete ) Morey of Goodrich. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Dakota, Dylan, and Collin. He was preceded in death by parents and brother in-law Terry Potter. Bruce is survived by siblings: Larry ( Mary ) of Linden, Dennis ( Debbie ) of Fenton, and Joyce ( Dennis ) Gray of Lapeer. Nieces & Nephews: Scott (Lisa), Steve ( Renee ), Shane ( Stephanie ), Jim ( Leanne ), Susan ( Jason ), Adrienne ( Chris ), Laurie, Tim, Tisha, Threasa, Colleen, Heather, and many great nieces & nephews. He is also survived by his aunt Joann Frechette, cousins: Mike and Mary, and many others considered family, especially John Foehr - considered a brother.
