He was a member of Beechwood Reformed Church for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army infantry during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 2144 and the American Legion. Julianna Bultman, 74, of Zeeland, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church of Zeeland where she was a volunteer. She retired from General Electric Corp. after 23 years of employment, and was a lifetime member of DAV Auxiliary No. 14. A daughter, Shirley, preceded her in death in 1949. Burrell H. De Young, 84, of Holland, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, in a local care facility. Born in Kalamazoo, he graduated from Allegan High School, and attended Western Michigan Teachers College, Hope College, and the University of Michigan. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II. He taught English in several area schools, retiring from West Ottawa Public Schools. He was a member of First Reformed Church where he had served as an elder, and was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Surviving are his wife, Arminta; daughter, Sherren Jones of Okemos; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Neil Stearns of Palo, and Tracy Tibbet of Holland; nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Claude Mulder in 1985. Juan Jesus Fuerst, 50, of Allegan died Friday, July 23, 1999 at Allegan General Hospital. He was born June 22, 1949 in Brownsville, Texas to Virgil William and Eloisa (Bejarano) Fuerst. He married Mary Kay Lyons on Dec. 5, 1990 in Bravo. He was a truck driver for R & S Transportation of Muskegon and attended Bravo Christian Reformed Church. He also served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Gwendolen Fuerst and Mary Fuerst, both of Allegan; a step son, Thomas Kamphuis Jr. of Allegan; two step daughters, Kathy Kamphuis of Grand Rapids and Erica Lyons of Allegan; 7 grandchildren; maternal grandmother Josefina Bejarano of Holland; three brothers, Jorge and Margaret Fuerst of Dorr, Thomas and Sally Fuerst of Grand Rapids and Virgil and Traci Fuerst of Fennville; five sisters, Gloria and Mark Stankeveh of Ft. Pierce, Fl., Margaret and Karry Forsten of Holland, Eva and Joelouis Duron of Holland, Mary Ann Fuerst of Holland and Rose Fuerst of Saugatuck. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. with the Rev. Nancy E. Brouwer, 47
ALLEGAN -- Nancy E. Brouwer, 47, of Allegan, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at her home. She was employed by Mead Johnson Division of Bristol Myers Squibb in Zeeland. Surviving are her husband, Stanley; children, Jolene Brouwer and Tara Brouwer of Allegan; father, Robert Loll of Allegan; brothers and sister, Terry Loll of Allegan, Randy and Tecnie Loll of Plainwell, Charyl and Larry Wallace of Dorr; parents-in-law, Stanley and Mildred Brouwer of Allegan; and brothers-in-law, Bert Brouwer and Aaron Brouwer of Allegan; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily, in 1992, and by her mother, Jean Loll, in 1999. No visitation is scheduled. A graveside service is 1 p.m. Tuesday at Popular Hill Cemetery, Monterey Township, with the Rev. Tom Bier officiating. Arrangements are by the Gorden Funeral Residence, 528 Trowbridge.

Eugene A. Ensing, 69, of Holland, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at an area care center. He was a member of Beechwood Reformed Church and retired from Hope College. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan, and a son, Robert. SAUGATUCK -- Donald R. Cook, 60, of Douglas, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at his home. He attended Holland schools, and retired from Western Tool after 20 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Edwin M. DeFeyter, 82
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Edwin Merle DeFeyter, 82, of Santa Barbara, died July 11, 1999, in Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in World War II and received two purple hearts. He had been employed by The Holland Sentinel, the Ventura Star Free Press, and retired from the Santa Barbara News Press. Surviving are his wife, Mary; children, Gary DeFeyter, Carol and John Gibbs, Toni and Art Fitzgerald, Bruce and Diane DeFeyter, and Carol Ann DeFeyter; nine grandchildren; sister, June and Don DenUyl; and two sisters-in-law. Private services were held. Arrangements were by Welch-Ryce-Haider Funeral Chapels.

Howard C. Kronemeyer, 88
Howard C. Kronemeyer, 88, a long-time resident of Pullman, Wash., died at his home Saturday, June 19, 1999. Born in Hamilton, the son of John and Gertrude Kronemeyer, he graduated from Holland High School and attended Hope College. He owned and operated the College Shop in Holland during the 1930s. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving in World War II. He was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, Moose Lodge, American Legion, and Elks Lodge. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Wilma "Kay"; children, David Kronemeyer of Pullman, Wash., Bill Kronemeyer of Atlanta, Ga., and Sandy Kronemeyer-Parness of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; brothers, Morrie Kronemeyer of Grand Rapids, and Harvey Kronemeyer of Holland; a sister, Viola Van Farowe of Allendale; and five grandchildren. A memorial service was held in Pullman.

Robert A. Beckman, 79
SHELBY -- Robert A. Beckman, 79, of Shelby died Wednesday, July 28, 1999. Surviving are his wife, Wilma; children, Christine and Scott Weomans of Muskegon, Robert and Mary Beckman of Shelby, Brian and Sue Beckman of Holland, and David and Kim Beckman of Holland; brothers, Floyd and Rose Beckman of Muskegon, Jesse and Ann Beckman, Lawrence and Irene Beckman, and Lavern and Beatrice Beckman all of Shelby; sister, Marguerite Reames of Shelby; sister-in-law, Norma Beckman of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Montello Park Christian Reformed Church, and had been employed by Hekman Rusk. Surviving are her father, Seward Wabeke of Zeeland; her brother, Roger and Delores Wabeke of Holland; nieces and great-nephews. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Wilbur; children, Judy and Augie Hoekstra, Rog and Bev Posthumus, Ron Posthumus, Bob and Laura Posthumus; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry and Marie Valk, and John and Joyce Valk; sisters, Ruth Cota, and Emma and Henry Hunderman; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Gerald Posthumus, Floyd and Ann Posthumus, and Doris Posthumus; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bernard (Geneva) Arendshorst, 91, of Holland, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, in an area care center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, in 1988, and by a son, David, in 1984. A graduate of Holland High School and Hope College, she was a member of Third Reformed Church, its Sunday School program, and Reformed Church Women. A member of the Frances Browning Hospital Guild and Century Club, she was a former member of the Woman's Literary Club. She taught elementary school in California and in the Holland Public School System. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Carla and Frederic Chmielewski of Holland; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; brother, Theodore Vanden Brink of Holland; brother- and sisters-in-law, Dr. William and Betty Arendshorst of Holland, and Mrs. Russell (Elizabeth) Klaasen of Grand Rapids; nieces and nephews. Services are 2 p.m. Friday in Third Reformed Church, 111 W. 13th St., with the Revs. Steven Stam and Sharon Arendshorst officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Visiting is one hour prior to the service. Memorials maybe made to Hope College or Third Reformed Church. Arrangements are by the Notier-Ver Lee-Langeland Funeral Chapel.
