Passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 18, 2000 at Spectrum Health-East Campus, East Grand Rapids. Age 70 years. The son of John and Catherine (Gala) Platko, he was born July 5, 1929 in Carrollton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2000 at St. Charles Catholic Church, Greenville, with the Rev. Fr. Fred Brucker, celebrant, and the Rev. Fr. Tom McKinney, con-celebrant, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Charles R.C.I.A. Envelopes are available at the Brown-Teman Funeral Home, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville (616-754-5638), where the family will receive relatives and friends this evening from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., with a Rosary Prayer Service beginning at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Platko will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral Mass.

Passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at Covenant Medical Center- Cooper. Age 74 years. Marjorie Poag was born June 26, 1925. She was married to Verrian Kime. He passed away on Sept. 8, 1983. She then married Dale Kime on July 16, 1994. She had been employed by Cedar Drugstore in Standish for 27 years. She was an active member of Burt United Methodist Church having been involved in the U.M.W. She was a member of the Taymouth Historical Association and the Burt Opera House. Surviving besides her husband Dale are two sons and two daughters, Mary Jane (Cecil) Magnus, Catherine (Frederick) Wenn, Verrian (Sharon) Kime, Michael (Jodi) Kime; two step-sons, Russell (Shelly) Kime, Roger (Patricia) Kime; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two brothers. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Burt United Methodist Church. Rev. Robert Harvey and Rev. Sandra Uptegraff officiating. Friends may call at The Krauss-Torhan Funeral Home, Birch Run on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials suggested to Burt Methodist Church.

Saginaw, Michigan. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a member of the Secular Franciscans. Surviving are her three children, David J. King, Bridgeport, Mich.; Mary H. King, Midland, Mich.; Michael L. King, Seattle, Wash.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a special friend, Sr. Lucia Medina. Helen was preceded in death by a son, Peter King and by two brothers, Richard and John Kimble. Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2000 at The Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Rev. Robert Konopa O.F.M. will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at HealthSource Saginaw. Age 79 years. Margaret Hanna Cottrell was born June 20, 1920 in Saginaw. She married Paul M. Burgess, he passed away May 30, 1970. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, the T.O.P.S. and an avid bingo player. Surviving are three grandchildren and their spouses, Paula and David Huggard, Shari and Kevin Strand, all of St. Charles; Paul Burgess III and his wife Tammy, Mio; seven great- grandchildren, Sarah and Joshua Huggard; Jacob, Ashleigh and Hannah Strand; Travis and Savanna Burgess; a daughter-in-law, Vivian Nesbit, St. Charles; a brother, Milton Cottrell, Saginaw; three half-brothers, two half-sisters; several nieces and nephews. A son, Paul M. Burgess Jr. had predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2000 at Christ Lutheran Church, 8795 Ederer Rd. Rev. James P. Seelow will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd., from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and at the church from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
