LAVERNE HAROLD DONNELLY
Mr. Laverne Harold Donnelly of Vassar, died Wednesday, October 11, 2000 at his home. He was 61 years of age.
Mr. Donnelly was born April 9, 1939 in Saginaw and was the son of William Donnelly and Elviria Berlin McCreedy. He had been employed as a welder at Peter's Manufacturing in Vassar. Mr. Donnelly enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family and his many nieces and nephews. He had been a resident of Vassar since 1958 and was a member of Vassar F.O.E. #2380.
Surviving is his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy; one son, Patrick; three granddaughters, Amy, Jenny, Tricia; one great-granddaughter, Kayla; his mother, Elviria McCreedy; and one brother, Midge Donnelly.
He was preceded in death by his father, William and one brother, Duane.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 14, 2000 at the Hanlin Chapel for Funerals in Vassar with burial at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor Cyril Haines officiated.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.

ALFRED L. ANDERSON
Mr. Alfred L. Anderson of the Vassar and Millington areas, died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at Bay Medical Center in Bay City. He was 87 years of age.
Mr. Anderson was born February 21, 1913 in Sandwich, Michigan and graduated from East Tawas High School in 1934. Mr. Anderson served in the United States Army during World War II. On December 27, 1941 he married Margaret Bradd and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage. She survives him.
Mr. Anderson retired in 1972 after 30 years with Malleable Iron in Saginaw. He was a member of Local UAW #455, Masonic Lodge of Otisville #401, Eastern Star #282 and a 32nd degree Mason with Bay City Consistory. He was also a member of Arbela United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; four children, Jan and Richard Myers of Vassar, Barbara Anderson of Gainesville, Florida; one brother, Lloyd Anderson of Birch Run; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan and one brother, Vernon.
Funeral services were held Sunday, October 8, 2000 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington with Pastor Herb Wheelock officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Arbela United Methodist Church.

RICHARD G. GRAVES SR.
Richard "Rick" G. Graves Sr. of Vassar, died Monday, October 2, 2000 at Caro Community Hospital. He was 49 years of age.
Mr. Graves was born March 14, 1951 in Flint, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Oral and Helen (Coats) Graves. He married Diane Ruperd September 14, 1968. Mr. Graves was employed at Means Industry of Vassar with over 24 years of service and was an assistant Scout Master for five years for Vassar Boy Scout Troop #201. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed motorcycle trips, especially to the Upper Peninsula.
Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Diane of Vassar; and his family, two sons, Richard Jr. and wife Stacy Graves of Mayville, James and wife Lisa Graves of Reese; three grandchildren, Destinee, Caressa, Dylan; one brother, William Graves of Vassar; two sisters, Valerie Graves of Mt. Morris, Melissa and husband Mark Bellisle of Florida) McWilliams. She lived in Millington her entire life.
Surviving are her parents, Francis and Mary Kathleen McWilliams; one sister, Theresa McWilliams, at home; aunts and uncles, Ray and Carol McWilliams of Otisville, Roger and Donna McWilliams of Vassar, Mike and Jan McWilliams of Pueblo, Colorado, David McWilliams of Idaho, Gail and Fred Starnes of Millington, Chuck and Linda Florida, Willis and Shirley Ware of Sterling, Gert and Gailin Morse of Burton, Don and Tom Ohio, Loretta and Larry Henderson of Burton; and many cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 29, 2000 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington with burial following at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor Max McCloud officiated.
