JUNE E. ROGERS
Mrs. June E. Rogers of Vassar died Friday, September 22, 2000 at her residence. She was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Bad Axe, Michigan; three grandchildren, Christopher, Heather, and Paul Rogers; brother-in-law, Richard Rogers and sister-in-law, Veronica Rogers, both of Bad Axe; as well as her many special friends.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death also by a grandson, Anthony Vincent Oprea in 1995, a son, Daniel Peter Rogers and her parents, Peter and Natalie Sinclair.
A memorial service was held Sunday, September 24, 2000 at the First United Methodist Church of Vassar with Pastor Richard Sheppard officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, 139 N. Main St., Vassar, Michigan 48602.
Arrangements were in the care of Hanlin Chapel for Funerals, Vassar.

LAVERNE R. HUBER
Mrs. Laverne R. Huber of Vassar, died Wednesday, March 28, 2001 at her daughter's residence. She was 67 years of age.
Mrs. Huber was born March 19, 1934 in Vassar, the daughter of Milo W. and Lilly M. (Putman) Allbee. She lived her entire life in Vassar. On June 25, 1955 she married Ruben Huber. He preceded her in death in December of 1976. She had been employed at the Frankenmuth Motel for several years. Mrs. Huber was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Birch Run.
Surviving are six children and their spouses, Helen and Dick Beckrow of Millington, Fred and Katherine (Kay) Huber of Vassar, Linda and Brian Pennington of Millington, Gerald (Jerry) and Jennifer Huber of Reese, Sue and Randy Bell of Vassar, Allen and Michelle Huber of Crestview, New Jersey, Mark Podulka of Millington, Julie and Marty Whalen of Utah, Susan and Rick Burdick of Ann Arbor, Sally and Jeff Jewell of Swartz Creek; eight grandchildren, Zachary, Aaron, Joseph, Jaclyn, Brendan, Anthony, Nicole, Ryan; two brothers; five sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
A scripture service was held Friday, March 30, 2001 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington. Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 31, 2001 at St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar with burial following at Meadowview Memorial Gardens in Davison. Father Raymond Fron officiated.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements were in the care of Hanlin Funeral Home, Millington.

ROCHELLE L. MYERS
Miss Rochelle L. Myers of Millington, died suddenly Monday, February 5, 2001. She was 32 years of age.
Miss Myers was born April 13, 1968 in Saginaw, the daughter of Richard and Janice (Anderson) Myers. She had been a resident of Millington most of her life and graduated from Millington High School in 1986. Miss Myers was a member of the Arbela United Methodist Church and a member of the Clio Cast and Crew. She was very involved with Job's Daughters: Bethel Guardian Bethel #63, past Honored Queen of Bethel #63 Otisville of the International Order of Job's Daughters of Florida and was currently employed as a nanny for the Richard Matthews family in Southgate, Tennessee, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Sarah Ophelia (Johnson) Martin. He was a Veteran of World War II serving with the Army in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He and Evelyn Rasch were united in marriage April 26, 1946. He worked for Fleet Carrier Corporation as a truck driver for 30 years and was a member of American Legion Post #108 - Oxford, VFW Post of Oxford and the Teamsters Local #614.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; six children, Jerry and wife Lori Martin of Oxford, Pamela Bovee of Taylor, Dennis and wife Nancy Martin of Suwanee, Georgia, Lisa and husband Craig Gibisas of Vassar; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, William and wife Helen Martin of San Jacinto, Illinois, Thomas Boro of Illinois, Vivian Haines of Grove, California; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Raymond Martin, Robert Martin and Ira Martin.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 7, 2001 from the Martin Funeral Home-Clark Chapel, Vassar. Sam Pace was officiating minister. Interment was at Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Walter and Eleanore (Burger) Hahn. She moved to Millington in 1932 from Frankenmuth. In 1932 she married William Mossner. He passed away in 1947. In 1949 she married Robert Torrey. He preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Torrey was employed as a clerk at the Millington Bakery for her uncle from 1947-1972. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington and a member of the Dorcas Society.
Surviving are two children and their spouses, Jeannette and Leo Allard of Millington, Bob and Jan Torrey of Midland; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elinor Buuck of Ft. Wayne, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald in 1957, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 2, 2001 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington with burial following at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor Tim Bickel officiated.
Memorials may be directed to the St. Paul Building Fund.
Arrangements were in the care of Hanlin Funeral Home, Millington.

ANTOINETTE C. WEINZIERL
Mrs. Antoinette C. Weinzierl of Millington, formerly of Houghton Lake area, died Sunday, October 7, 2001 at the Lapeer County Medical Care Facility. She was 92 years of age.
Mrs. Weinzierl was born on May 23, 1909 in Ville Marie Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Peter and Georgianna (DuCharme) Preville. She lived most of her adult life in Millington until moving to Houghton Lake in 1970.
On February 15, 1927 she married Richard Weinzierl. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1992. Mrs. Weinzierl was a member of St. Frances X Cabrini Catholic Church of Vassar, formerly a member of St. Bernards Catholic Church of Millington and of the Lapeer American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #16.
Surviving is her family, three sons and three daughters and their spouses, Robert (Bob) and Lois Weinzierl, Dale and Sue Weinzierl, all of Millington, Leo and Beverly Weinzierl of Mayville, Betty Kreis of Lapeer, Dorothy Alexander of Flint, Delores and Marvin Cranick of Fairgrove; one sister, Bernadette Hamper of Flint; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and a granddaughter.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, October 11, 2001 at the Hanlin Funeral Home of Millington with burial following at the Watertown Township Cemetery in Fostoria. Father John Ederer officiated.
Memorials may be directed to the Suncrest Nursing Home or to the Lions Club.
