James Ray Streeter
Age 54, of Fairgrove died Friday April 13, 2001 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1946 in Bay City, the son of Edson and Evelyn (Hellebuyck) Streeter. He married Joan C. Smith June 12, 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam war and was member of the Akron-Fairgrove VFW Post # 7486.Prior to his retirement he had been employed at the Grede Foundry in Vassar for 34 years.Jim had also been an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife Joan of Fairgrove; 2 sons and 1 daughter: James T. and Joy Streeter; Jennifer and Chris Holland all of Atlanta, Ga.; John Streeter of Merrill; Mother: Evelyn Streeter of Essexville; 1 brother and 2 sisters: Michael Streeter of Fairgrove; Kathy and Jim Nagy of Fairgrove; Jayne and Tod Houthoofd of Standish. His father Edson Streeter preceded him in death. Funeral Service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church, Pastor Rich Lawther officiating with burial in Brookside Cemetery under the direction of Akron-Fairgrove VFW Post 7486 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home 7:00 pm Sunday evening. The family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home-Clark Chapel in Fairgrove Sunday 5-9 p.m. Monday 1-9 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Bertha Wilma Sackman
Of Mesa, Arizona for 24 years. She was born August 25, 1925 in Ann Arbor the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jr. and Lilly (Zissler) Bodeis. She married LeRoy Sackman. Surviving are, husband LeRoy of Arizona; daughter: Beverly & Clayton Bolton; sons: Dennis and Judy Sackman; Carl and Denise Sackman; John and Jeffery Sackman; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 4:00 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at Martin Funeral Home, Clark Chapel in Vassar. Burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Family will be present to recieve friends at the funeral home on Wednesday 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

Norma Vidas Severn
Age 97 of Port Charlotte, FL formerly of Columbiaville and Mt. Morris died Wednesday April 11, 2001 in Port Charlotte FL. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday from Miles Martin Funeral Home, Mt. Morris. Burial Mt. Morris Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12noon - 9pm Sunday. She was born in Lapeer County August 20, 1903 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Blanche (Murray) Middleditch. She and Ike Severn were united in marriage at Vassar July 1925. He preceded her in death November 1, 1995. Surviving are her 2 children: George Severn of Port Charlotte, FL; Ida and husband Harold Bloomfield of Flint; 11 Grandchildren; 18 Great grandchildren; 2 Sister-in-law: Cathy Middleditch of Mt. Morris; Minnie Eisinger of Flint. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Clarence Donald Severn, and daughter Margaret Palso.

Paul E. Church
Age 80, of Mt. Morris, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 6, 2001 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4-9pm at the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Following, he will be flown to Charlotte, N.C. to his final resting place. Paul was born July 5, 1920 in Statesville, N.C., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy G. and Evolia A. (Benfield) Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He retired from GM in 1986. He is survived by: his loving companion and best friend, Elzora (Ellie) Bailey whom he loved with all his heart, also left behind are his stepchildren, Delores and Del Tewksbury, Pam and Mark Banyas, Bill and Annie Crow, John Bailey and Candice Wilson , Earla Troth and John Swanson, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his beloved pet Missy, several sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. Paul has left us with several wonderful and fun memories and we thank God for the years he was lent to us. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Karen Anne Deuel
Age 55 of Grand Blanc died Friday April 6, 2001 at McLaren Regional Medical Cntr. Funeral services will be 6pm Sunday at the the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Rev. Mr. Norman Heintz officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 12 noon Sunday until time of services at 6:00 pm. She was born December 1, 1945 in Flint the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Eva (Bason) Babcock. She was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School Class of 1963. She retired from GM Delphi October 1999 with 35 years service. Surviving are her 3 children: Ronald and wife Shelly Babcock of Clio; Sandra Landes of Grand Blanc; Lisa and husband Kurt Heintz of Grand Blanc; 5 grandchildren: Misty; Kyle; Joshua; Shelby; Dierk; Father: Walter and wife Carla Babcock of Mt. Morris; Brothers and sisters: Walter and wife Nancy Babcock of Clio; Ted and wife Cindy Babcock of Clio; Sharon Belott of Fenton; Mary and husband Edward Merrill of Clio; Robert Babcock of Mt. Morris. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother 1980.

Rosanna Servis
Of Millington, age 89, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Heartland Nursing Home. Rosanna was born August 8, 1911 in Arbella Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August and Sarah (Beard) Summerfield. She married Frank W. Ill August 25, 1934. He preceded her in death. She then married William Servis August 22, 1965. He also preceded her in death, also daughter Marilyn Cooper. Surviving are, son, Cleo Ill of Millington; daughter, Rosemary and husband James Childs of Bridgeport; stepdaughter, Sharon and husband Gordon Woodhull of Vassar; Son-of-Law Wayne Cooper; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Fischhabler and Elsie Sanders both of Millington. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a. m. Saturday, April 7, 2001 at the Vassar First Baptist Church with Rev. Douglas Stockwell officiating. Burial in Millington Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home, Clark Chapel in Vassar 6-9p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Friday. On Saturday morning Mrs. Servis will be taken to church to lie in state, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Lila Pearl Sheldon
Age 80, of Flint, died Wednesday April 4, 2001 at Maplewood Manor in Clio. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday from Mt. Morris Community Church, Center Road South of E. Mt. Morris Road. Pastor Eldon Busenitz officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park. Mrs. Sheldon will remain at Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call 11:00 am to 9:00 pm Friday. On Saturday she will be taken to church to lie in state from 12-Noon until time of service at 1:00 pm. .Those desiring, may consider memorial contributions to Child Evangelism. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church. Lila was born February 19, 1921 in Hewitt, MN the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elias A. and Pearl L. (Wilde) Dobson. She and Walter Sheldon were united in marriage June 23, 1940 in Bagley, MN. He preceded her in death 1990. Surviving are her sons: Joel and wife Laura Sheldon of Genesee; Bruce and wife Brenda Sheldon of MO.; Daughter: Donna and husband Frank Dockham of Columbiaville; 7 grandchildren; Sister: Effie and husband Milo Castle of MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 daughter, 1 sister and 5 brothers.
