CLARA MABLE REEFER, wife of Homer Reefer, Indiana, R.D. passed away, May 19 at 5:00 P.M. from a heart attack at her late home in Washington Township, Indiana County [PA]. Born December 18, 1885, in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County, a daughter of William and Ann Good Ank, she had been a resident of Washington Township for years; a member of Gastown Reformed Church. Survivors include her husband Homer, and these sister: Mrs. Grace Kelly, Ashtabula, O., Mrs. Edith Smith, Shelocta, R.D. 1, Mrs. Pea_ Bark, Creekside, R.D. 1. Funeral services will be held at the Gastown Reformed Church on Sunday, May 22, at 2:30 P.M. (DST). Burial will be in the Gastown Cemetery. Friends will be received in the Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, from 7:00 to 10 P.M., and at the church one hour previous to the hour of service. - No date-

HOMER B. REEFER, Friends of Homer B. Reefer, who died Sept. 5, 1972, are being received at the Clarence P. Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Kantz, pastor of St. Jacobs Reform Church, Gastown, officiating. Burial will be in the Gastown Cemetery. Arrangements by Clark. HOMER B. REEFER, 87, Shelocta RD 1, formerly of Indiana RD 1, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 1972, at the Armsdale Hospital, Kittanning RD 5. The son of Jacob and Della Cribbs Reefer, he was born Dec. 7, 1884 at Plumcreek Twp., Armstrong County. Mr. Reefer was a member of St. Jacob's Reformed Church, Gastown. He was a farmer by occupation. Surviving are two brothers: Gettus, Shelocta; Albert, Rural Valley RD 1; three sisters: Mrs. Arlie (Ocie) Harkleroad and Mrs. Clarence (Lillie) Walker, both of Rural Valley RD 1; Mrs. Clark (Flodie) Thomas, Kittanning RD 1. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Mabel Ank Reefer; an infant; two brothers and three sisters. Friends are being received at the Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, today from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Services will be held Friday at 2:30 pm, with the Rev. John Kantz, DD, officiating. interment will follow in Gastown Cemetery.

FRANK REEFER, 59, died at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, November 14 [1951], at the Armstrong County Home from complications. He was a member of the Gastown Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held in the church Friday, November 16, at 2:00 pm with his pastor, Rev. Howard Amick, officiating. Burial will be in the Gastown Cemetery. Respect may be paid at the Clark Funeral Home, of Elderton, after 7:00 pm today and at the church on Saturday from 1 to 2. [1951].

SAMUEL WILBERT (MICKEY) REEFER, passed away at 3:50 am Friday, November 7 [1958], in Kittanning Hospital. Born February 11, 1904, in Plumcreek Township, son of Arthur and Irene Jewart [Reefer], he had been an engineer for the Peoples Natural Gas Company at Valley Station for 34 years and had lived in Rural Valley for the past 30 years. Surviving are his wife, Edna Foster Reefer; one son, Harry W. of Rural Valley; his parents, four brothers: Cecil of Yatesboro; Carl of Mosgrove; James and Russell of Rural Valley; four sisters: Mrs. Josephine Cosgrove of Kittanning RD 5; Mrs. Zelda Wartuck of Erie; Mrs. Mae Van Horn of NuMine; Mrs. Martha Li-- of McGrann. Friends will be received at the Carson Funeral Home, Rural Valley, where services will be conducted Sunday, November 9, at 2 pm. Services by the Rev. Raymond Custer. interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, near Echo. [1958].

VIOLET PEARL REEFER, 58, of Dayton RD 2 died Thursday, Feb. 1, 1979, at her home. The daughter of John and Melda Montgomery, she was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Armstrong County. Mrs. Reefer was a member of the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church and the Woodmen of the World. Surviving are her husband, John E. Reefer; a son, Richard of Templeton; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Janice) Cogley of Berea, Ohio, and Mrs. Edward (Maxine) Barrett of Dayton; five grandchildren; her mother, Melda Montgomery of Spartansburg, Pa.; three sisters: Mrs. Grant (Ruby) Hawkins of Kittanning RD 5; Mrs .William (Mildred) Reeseman of Homer City; and Mrs. Loraine (Dorothy) Delancey of Lucernemines; four brothers: Ronald Montgomery of Apollo; Earl Montgomery of Kittanning; and George and Derwood Montgomery, both of Spartansburg. She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Frances, and a brother, John. Friends will be received at the Roy W. Carson Funeral Home, Rural Valley, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Friends may also call at the Glade Run United Presbyterian Church on Sunday until 2 pm, the time of service with the Rev. Francis E. Stetler officiating. interment will be in Glade Run Cemetery.

GOLDIE MARIE GRESS REEFER, 50, Rural Valley, died Wednesday, Jan.; 31, 1979, in the Butler Hospital, Butler. The daughter of Paul W. and Olive Cooper Gress, she was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Cowanshannock Township, Armstrong County. Mrs. Reefer was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rural Valley. Surviving are her husband, James W. Reefer; one son, Dennis W., Rural Valley; her mother of Rural Valley; two brothers, A. Neil Gress, Rural Valley, and Earl S. Gress, Kittanning RD 5; one sister, Mary Lorene Gress, Rural Valley. Friends will be received from 7-9 pm today and from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday in the Roy W. Carson Funeral Home, Rural Valley, where a service will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, Feb. 3, with the Rev. J. Samuel Johns, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, Rural Valley, assisted by Fred Cook officiating. interment will follow in Harkleroad Cemetery, Rural Valley RD 1.

ELDER GETTUS REEFER, 91, RD 1, Shelocta, died on Monday, Oct. 6, 1980, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning. He was born on Dec. 28, 1888, in Plumcreek Twp., Armstrong County, a son of Jacob and Della Cribbs Reefer. A farmer most of his life, he was a member of the Gastown Christ Lutheran Church. Survivors include three sons, Ward, Hartstown, and Emmet and Eugene, both of RD 1, Shelocta; a daughter, Mrs. Louise Scott, Elderton; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Meyer Reefer. Friends were received on Wednesday at the Clarence P. Clark Funeral Home, Elderton. Viewing was held at the Christ Lutheran Church in Gastown, where services were conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Vaughn E. Taylor, Elderton, in charge. Burial was in Gastown Cemetery.

HARRY EDGAR REEFER, Dayton RD 2, passed away in his home about 5:45 pm yesterday [Friday, Oct.21, 1965]. He was the husband of Matilda Reefer, who died in 1949. Born September 5, 1886, in Plum Creek Twp., he resided in the Dayton area all of his life. He was a son of Jacob and Della Cribbs Reefer. He was a member of the Gastown Lutheran Church. Surviving are four sons and two daughters: Miles, NuMine; Earl, Valencia RD; Harry, Elderton; Berton, Dayton RD; Mrs. Clarence (Martha) Prugh, Shelocta RD; and Mrs. Lawrence (Della) Sloan, at home; 28 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Homer, Shelocta RD 1; Getus, Shelocta RD 1; and Albert, Rural Valley RD 1; four sisters: Mrs. Clark Thomas, Elderton; Mrs. Arthur Frailey, Shelocta RD 1; Mrs. Arlie Harkleroad, Rural Valley RD 1, and Mrs. Clarence Walker, Rural Valley RD 1. Friends will be received at the Carson Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Sunday. Services will be held at the funeral home at 2 pm Monday with Rev. Edward Balint officiating. interment will be in the Gastown Cemetery.

MRS. EDNA REEFER, 73, Rural Valley RD 1, died Thursday, May 20, 1971, at home. A daughter of John N. and Mary Jane Parks Blose, she was born Feb. 21, 1898, near Smicksburg, Indiana County. She was the wife of Albert J. Reefer and a member of the Reformed Church at Gas Town. Surviving are her husband, and the following: a son, Orian Reefer, and two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Clara) Kaufman and Mrs. Ray (Ilean) Fiscus, all of Rural Valley RD 1; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orville Blose of Daytown, Pa., and Robert Blose of Kittanning RD 1; five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Wrightstone of Mechanicsburg; Mrs. John (Virginia) Stuchell of Greentree, Mrs. Ellen Nicholas and Mrs. Jay (Belle) Henry of Elderton and Mrs. Clarence (Mildred) Wrightstone of Harrisburg. One daughter precedes her in death. Friends will be received at the Carson Funeral Home in Rural Valley from 7 to 9 pm today and from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm Friday where services will be conducted Saturday at 2 pm. Rev. John Kautz, DD, will officiate and interment will be in the Harkleroad Cemetery.

MISS ERMA JANE REEFER, of Shelocta RD 1, in Cowanshannock Twp. died after an illness of three months, on Saturday, February 19th, [1944] at 3:00 am. She was born March 17, 1929, the daughter of Albert and Erma (Blose) Reefer. Surviving are her parents; two sisters, Iolean and Clara at home; one brother, Orian at home; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Della Reefer of Rural Valley RD; maternal grandfather, John N. Blose of Shelocta RD; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. Friends will be received at the late home after 12:00 noon Sunday. Funeral services will be held at the parental home Monday at 2:30 pm. The Rev. Paul S. Schmiedel will officiate. Burial will be in the Harkleroad Cemetery.

EARL A. REEFER, 57, Valencia RD 2, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 1970, at the North Hills Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh. A son of Harry Edgar and Matilda Meyer Reefer, he was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Plumcreek Twp. He was the husband of Cleora Sloan Reefer. Mr. Reefer was retired from the U.S. Steel Plant at Saxonburg. Surviving are his wife, Cleora Sloan Reefer, a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Viola) Buzard, Valencia RD 2; two brothers: Miles, NuMine; Berton, Rural Valley; two sisters: Mrs. Clarence (Martha) Prugh, Shelocta RD 1; Mrs. Lawrence (Della) Sloan, Dayton RD 2. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry. Friends will be received from 7-9 pm today and 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Thursday at the Carson Funeral Home, Rural Valley, where services will be held Friday at 2 pm with the Rev. Arthur R. Kaufman, officiating. interment will be made in the Atwood Cemetery.

LLOYD RAY REEFER, 55, of Gastown (Shelocta RD 1) passed away Wednesday, October 20, 1965 at Armstrong County Hospital, Kittanning of complications over a fall six years ago. A son of Gettus and the late Elizabeth Meyer Reefer he was born March 16, 1910 in Plumcreek Township, Armstrong Co. Mr. Reefer ws an employe of Yount Construction Company, Kittanning, and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, at Gastown. He is survived by his widow, Bertha M. Houser Reefer; one son, William Cecil Reefer, Metairie, La.; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Nadine) Altheide of Home, Pa.; and Linda Jean, at home; two grandchildren; his father, Getus Reefer; three brothers: Ward; Emmett; and Eugene; and one sister, Mrs. Edgar (Louise) Scott, all of Shelocta RD 1. Friends are being received from 2-4 and 7-9 pm today and from 4-9 pm Friday at the Clark Funeral Home, Elderton. Friends will also be received from 1:30 to 2:30 pm Saturday at Gastown Lutheran Church where funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm. Rev. Edward Balint will officiate and interment will be in Elderton Cemetery.

HARRY BLAINE REEFER, 53, of Elderton, died Wednesday, April 9, 1969, at 4:10 pm in the Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. A son of Harry Edgar (Edd) and Matilda Meyer Reefer, he was born June 21, 1915, in Plumcreek Twp. He was the husband of Martha Prugh Reefer. Mr. Reefer was a foreman for the Ray F. Yount Co. and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Gastown and the Elderton Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, mentioned above; three daughters and a son: Mrs. Murray (Dorothy) Fairman, Jr., Sagamore; Mrs. Arthur (Ella Mae) Rowe, Indiana; Mrs. Charles (Maxine) Graham and Harry, Jr., both of Elderton; 11 grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters: Miles, NuMine; Earl, Valencia; Berton and Mrs. Lawrence (Della) Sloan of Dayton RD 2; Mrs. Clarence (Martha) Prugh, Shelocta RD 1. Friends will be recieved at the Roy W. Carson Funeral Home, Rural Valley, Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm, where services will be held Saturday at 2 pm with the Rev. Edward Balent, officiating. interment will be in the Atwood Cemetery.

MATILDA MAY MEYER REEFER, wife of Edgar Reefer, died Sunday, July 24, [1949], at 11:00 am at her home, Shelocta RD 1. Mrs. Reefer was born March 23, 1892 in Armstrong County, a daughter of C. H. and Rachel Meyer. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Gastown. She is survived by her husband, Edgar Reefer, four sons and two daughters: Miles, of Pittsburgh, Earl, of Rural Valley, Burton, Shelocta RD 1, and Mrs. Clarence Prugh and Mrs. Lawrence Sloan, Shelocta RD 1. Surviving also are 18 grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters: J. W. Meyer, Gastown, Charles Meyer, Indiana, Mrs. Getis Reefer and Mrs. Jessie Thomas, both of Shelocta RD. Funeral services will be held at her late home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 by her pastor, the Rev. Howard Amick. Burial will be in the Gastown Cemetery. The Croyle Funeral Home of Rural Valley is in charge of arrangements.
