Ceasar Schiavo
CRYSTAL FALLS — Ceasar Schiavo, 84, of 638 N. 6th St., Crystal Falls,
died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Iron County General Hospital in Iron
River. Mr. Schiavo was born June 11, 1916, in Crystal Falls, son of
the late Peter and Elizabeth (Pedranzan) Schiavo. He grew up in
Crystal Falls and attended the Crystal Falls schools.
He married Bernice Byng on April 4, 1934, in Crystal Falls. She
preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1992. Mr. Schiavo worked for Ira
Odgers Drilling Co. from 1941 to 1953, worked at the Bristol Mine
until 1969 and then worked for Slivensky Builders before retiring.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp, gardening and his
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Byng,
and four brothers, Carmello, Clarence, Lawrence and John P. Schiavo.
He is survived by two sons, Bernard (Merle) Schiavo of Crystal Falls
and Eugene (Marjorie) Schiavo of Kingsford; two brothers, Albino
Schiavo of Chicago and Peter Schiavo of Virginia; six sisters, Ida
(Garfield) Nelson of Crystal Falls, Angeline (George) Mindock of
Crystal Falls, Carmen Korpi of Crystal Falls, Olga (John) Cocco of
Carney, Menominee County, Veronica (Frank) Malecha of Mt. Prospect,
Ill., and Annie Smith of New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Gregg
(Wendy) Schiavo, Jon (Mary) Schiavo, Jeffrey (Jackie) Schiavo, Julie
(Mark) Aho, Daniel Schiavo, Gina (Gary) Hoaglund and Elizabeth (Jon)
Lorenzoni; 13 great-grandchildren, Danielle Hoaglund, Casey Hoaglund,

ANTHONY "DUCKY" J. SCHIAVO
ANTHONY "DUCKY" J. SCHIAVO, 57, of West Long Branch died Nov. 28.
Born in Newark, he was a lifelong resident of the shore area. He was
the proprietor of Peddler Bicycle Shop, Long Branch. Prior to that,
he was a teacher at Monmouth Beach Elementary School and Asbury Park
Middle School. He was a graduate of Monmouth University. He was
predeceased by his father, Angelo R. Schiavo Sr. in 1996; and his
brother, Angelo R. Schiavo Jr. in 1963. He is survived by his wife,
Dr. Susan Young of West Long Branch; three children, Michael Schiavo
of Long Branch, and Erin and Lorin Schiavo, both at home; and his
mother, Angela Rizzo Schiavo of Long Branch. A funeral service was
held at the First Presbyterian Church, Long Branch. Interment was at
Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Memorial donations may be

DEL SCHIAVO, 60 RETIRED TRUCK DRIVER
LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. - Services will be conducted here tomorrow for
Del Schiavo of Lehigh Acres, a former Boston truck driver.
He died here unexpectedly Monday at age 60.
Mr. Schiavo was a driver with Teamsters Local 25 of Boston for 40
years before retiring.
He was born in Charlestown, Mass., and lived in Weymouth, Mass. He
moved to Lehigh Acres in 1982.
He leaves his wife, Rita T. (Trisa); his mother, Antonetta Schiavo
of Boston; two brothers, Gerald and Joseph Schiavo; eight sisters,
Thelma Macarokas, Ronnita Hammond, Laura Walsh, Anna Cassidy, Era
Schiavo, Jeanetta Dowling, Lee Langlois and Tia Mazza.

LUCY CHIMENTO SCHIAVO, 70, of Clifton, formerly of Passaic, died
Friday. Before retiring in 1973, she was a machine operator at the
Bright Star Battery Co., Clifton. She was a parishioner of St.
Brendan R.C. Church in Clifton, and a member of its Rosary Society.
She was a member of Clifton-Lakeview Chapter 1995 of the American
Association of Retired Persons, the Clifton Chapter of the Deborah
Hospital Foundation, and the Handicapped Association of Passaic
County. Surviving are her husband, Anthony; a daughter, Paula Bringas
of Clifton, and a grandchild. Mass will be said Tuesday at 10 a.m. at
St. Brendan Church, with entombment in Calvary Mausoleum, Paterson.

Helen E. Schiavo, 82, of 3 Lafayette Court, died Sunday at her home.
Born in Philadelphia, she lived in Ardmore before moving here 16 years
ago. Mrs. Schiavo organized the senior citizens club here. She also
was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church and
the American Association of Retired Persons and past president of
both the Victorian Towers Tenants Association and the Sunshine Club.
Surviving are: her husband, Louis; her daughter, Eleanor Becht of
Upper Darby, Pa.; her son, Frank Wilfong of King of Prussia, Pa.; a
sister, Frances Henderson of Audubon; a brother, William Brunner of
Norristown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
at 10 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, where friends

Gustave A. Schiavo, 79, died Thursday in Newcomb Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a Vineland resident for the past 60
years. Before retiring, he was a painter. A former boxer, known as
"Harry Greb," Mr. Schiavo was a former member of the Diamond Social
Club. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and St. Mary's
Church, East Vineland. Surviving are: his wife, Josephine; a son,

Vineland; and seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will

JOSEPHINE (MACCRI) SCHIAVO, 80, of Vineland, died Monday in Newcomb
Medical Center in Vineland. Before retiring she was employed as a
clothing worker by Crown Clothing in Vineland for over 20 years. Mrs.
Schiavo was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Union of America,
St. Mary's Church in East Vineland, Shepherds of Bethlehem, the Loyal
Order of the Moose, and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Born in Vineland, she was a lifelong resident.
Surviving are a son, Gus D. of Vineland; two daughters, Gloria Noto
and Berni Pigott, both of Vineland; four brothers, Joseph Maccri,
James Maccri and Dominick Maccri, all of Vineland, and Frank Tudisco
of California; four sisters, Edith Zimmermann, Eleanor DeLancey and
Bette Healy, all of Vineland, and Lillian Barry of Mays Landing;
seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Church
in East Vineland. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
