Gilbertson, Timothy of Stillwater died unexpectedly June 4th, 2007 at home.

Timothy Ian Gilbertson, age 42, of Stillwater, MN, and formerly of Hudson, WI, died unexpectedly on June 4th, 2007 at his home. Timothy was born in 1964 in Hudson; the son of Duane and Susan Gilbertson. He attended EP Rock elementary school in Hudson before graduating from Hudson High School in the class of 1982. He would further his education with an Associate’s degree in accounting with a minor in computer technology. Timothy was a gifted computer technician. He worked for his close friend Mark Secrest (Secrest Consulting), HB Fuller, and IBM. Most recently, he was employed with Washington County, Minnesota as an Information Technology Analyst. On September 7, 2002, he was married to the former Becky Secrest at St. Lucas Church in Lake Elmo, MN. Timothy truly enjoyed music; whether listening to his favorite rock and roll bands or playing his guitar. He enjoyed downhill skiing as well as golfing. He also appreciated the ride of a “decked out” Corvette, and flying his remote control airplane. Timothy will remain in the hearts of his loving wife, Becky; step-sons, Cole and Cody; mother, Susan (Tom) Kampmeyer of Edina, MN; brother, Jon (Kimberlie) Gilbertson of Houlton, WI; sister, Laura (Marty) Austin of South Windsor, CT; step-brother, Tom Kampmeyer II of Coon Rapids, MN; step-sister, Colleen Kampmeyer of Buffalo, MN; Uncle Darrel (Barb) of Texas; Aunt Trisha of Doncaster, England; several cousins, mother and father in-law, several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-heart (Deej Olson, Fred Henderson, and Mark Secrest). Timothy was preceded in death by his grandparents and father. Funeral services for Timothy Gilbertson will be at 11AM on Friday, June 8th, at Highlands Bethel Lutheran Church (504 Frontage Road) in Hudson. Burial will be in the Resurrection cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN. Active casketbearers will be Fred Henderson, Deej Olson, Tom Kampmeyer II, Marty Austin, Mark Secrest, and Jon Gilbertson. Visitation for Timothy Gilbertson will be on Thursday from 5 until 8PM at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Memorials are preferred, and donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Dorotha Rode, age 91 and longtime Hammond resident, died on Wednesday evening, June 6th.

Dorotha Lucille Rode, age 91 of Hammond WI, died on Wednesday evening, June 6, 2007 at the River Falls Area Hospital. Dorotha was born on December 26, 1915 in Black Earth WI to Albert F. and Laura (Bothe) Daschler. Dorotha attended country school, then graduated from Saint Paul Park High School before she went on to receive her degree from the Winona State Teachers College. Dorotha worked as a teacher for grades 1-8 in School District 29 in Washington County, Minnesota. Dorotha would be united in marriage to Howard A. Rode on September 17, 1937 in Cottage Grove Township MN. This union in marriage would be blessed with two sons, Donald and Warren. After leaving the teaching profession, Dorotha dedicated herself to her family by being a farm wife, mother and homemaker. She kept busy with all the things that life on the farm and being a mother and grandmother had to offer. She also enjoyed baking, all kinds of gardening, sewing, bird watching, teaching piano, and being a member of the Hammond Homemakers Club. Dorotha dedicated herself to Christ through her church, serving as the church organist and also as a Sunday school teacher. Dorotha will be missed dearly by her loving family, which includes sons, Donald (Shirley) Rode, and Warren (Diane) Rode both of Hammond WI; grandchildren, Sherry (Robert) Crosby of Glenwood City, Dawn Pace of Hammond, Roger (Heather) Rode of Hammond, and Robin (Chad) Falde of Spring Valley; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Daschler of Solon Springs AR, and Louise Rode of Woodbury MN, and numerous other relatives and dear friends. Dorotha was preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Rode; her parents, brother, Mel Daschler; and grandson, Craig Rode.

Funeral services for Dorotha Rode will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Hammond United Methodist Church in Hammond, with Pastor Carrie Hamm officiating. Interment will take place at 2 PM on Monday in the Woodbury United Methodist Church cemetery in Woodbury MN. Pallbearers will be Donald Althoff, Kent Althoff, Francis Oehlke, Roger Bothe, Robert Crosby, and Chad Falde. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin.

Hanson, Myrtle of Hudson died June 7th.

Myrtle A. Hanson age 92 of rural Hudson died Thursday June 7th, 2007 at the Kinnickinnic Long Term Care Center in River Falls. Myrtle was born on August 10, 1914 in the Town of St. Joseph; the daughter of Benjamin W. and Martha (Doerer) Sargent. Being raised in St. Joseph Township, she attended McKinley School. She worked as a cook for a time for a well known banker in Hudson named Cecil Day. On June 19, 1937, she was married at Bethel Lutheran Church to Albert P. Hanson. She was well known as a good cook and a gardener with a green thumb. She said when her savior took her, she was ready to die. Her last words were, “Good night.” Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin W. and Martha (Doerer) Sargent and her son Kenneth Archie Hanson. She is survived by her son Wayne Hanson of Hudson, daughter Beverly Bronfeld of Westport, Connecticut, and grandson Kenneth "Kelly" Hanson of Bemidji, Minnesota. Funeral service for Myrtle A. Hanson will be 10AM Saturday June 16th at Bethel Lutheran Church, downtown Hudson. Burial will be in the Houlton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday June 15th from 4 until 7PM at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Memorials preferred.

Lathe, Ernest H., loving husband, dad and grandpa, age 68 of Baldwin, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, July 17, 2007.

Ernest Harvey Lathe, loving husband, dad and grandpa, age 68 of Baldwin, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, July 17, 2007. Ernie was born on February 2, 1939 in Ashland WI to Harvey Deford and Ruth Naomi (Hunt) Lathe. Ernie attended schools in Ashland, and graduated from Ashland High School. Ernie met Della Mae Voetman, and after their courtship, the couple would marry on June 6, 1959 at the Assembly of God Church in New Richmond WI. This union in marriage would be blessed with three sons, David, Michael and Steven. Ernie was a hard-working and self-made man. He started out working as a dairy farmer, and later became an owner-operator of his own milk truck business. Ernie worked seven days a week, but loved the work. Outside of his work, Ernie took great pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping trips with his family, fishing, occasional hunting trips out West, and attracting hummingbirds with his well-stocked feeders. He was an active member of the Calvary Assembly of God for nearly fifty years, and also served on the Board of Deacons. Ernie will be missed dearly by his loving wife of 48 years, Della; sons, David (Laurie) Lathe of Fridley MN, Michael (Trish) Lathe of Cave Creek AZ, and Steven (Tonya) Lathe of Hammond WI; grandchildren, Christina (Victor) Celadita, Elizabeth Lathe, Jennifer Lathe, Carol Ann Lathe, Michelle (Eric Tody) Lathe, Michael Jr. (Gina Johnston) Lathe, Brad (Lynn) Seehafer, Troy (Carrie) Seehafer, Matt Seehafer, Andrew Lathe, Tyler Lathe, Jacob Lathe; great-grandchildren, Korbin Joseph Lathe and Amelia Christine Celadita; siblings, Eva Dreyer, Janie (Marvin) Kosmatka, Reverend Vernon (Mary) Lathe, and Marvin (Judy) Lathe; sister-in-law, Rose Ann Lathe; mother-in-law, Iola Voetman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Ruth Lathe; brother, Paul Lathe; and father-in-law, Mal Voetman

Funeral services for Ernest H. Lathe will be at 11 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Wilson WI, with Pastor Rick Mannon and Pastor Vernon Lathe officiating. Interment will follow at the Baldwin cemetery in Baldwin WI. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Friday, July 20, 2007 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin, and also one hour prior to services at the church.

Cormican, Paul, age 69 of Baldwin, died Friday, July 27th, 2007 at United Hospital in St. Paul.

Paul Daniel Cormican, age 69 of Baldwin, died early on Friday, July 27, 2007 at United Hospital in Saint Paul MN. Paul was born on November 1, 1937 in Connorsville WI to Clarence and Anna (Klusher) Cormican. Paul attended country school at the Bolen Creek School. Paul was married to Doris Thelma Walz on November 21, 1969 at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin. Their union in marriage would be blessed with two sons, Jeff and Timmy. Paul worked for many years in construction, most recently with BOR-SON Construction of Minneapolis. Outside of work, Paul enjoyed the outdoors through hunting, fishing, and vegetable gardening. Not only did he enjoy growing them, but Paul also enjoyed canning his vegetables. As a father, he took great pleasure in watching his boys play sports, especially baseball and softball. Paul is survived by his wife of 37 years, Doris; sons, Jeffrey Cormican of Menomonie, and Timmy (Lisa) Cormican of Baldwin; stepchildren, Linda (Ronald) VanSomeren, and Dean Brenne, all of Las Vegas NV; granddaughters, Jessica (Kris) Bruner and Jenny VanSomeren; great-grandson, Dylan Bruner; sisters, Dorothy Burton and Rosella Burton, both of Boyceville; and brother, Marvin Cormican of Glenwood City; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kent Annis; and brothers, Jerry, Walter, Leonard, and Elmer.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4-8 PM on Tuesday evening, July 31, 2007 at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin. A prayer service will be held at 8:00 PM, with Pastor Keith Anderson officiating. Miltary Honors provided by the Baldwin American Legion Post #240 will immediately follow the prayer service.

Petersen, Margaret age 95, formerly of Hudson died July 28.

Margaret A. Petersen, age 95, formerly of Hudson died Saturday July 28, 2007 at The Lodge Hospice Center in Elko, Minnesota. Margaret was born on March 27, 1912 in Trimbelle Township of Pierce County, the daughter of Frank and Annie (Paulus) Matzek. She was raised near River Falls where she attended school. On June 29, 1940, she was united in marriage to Arthur Petersen at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in the Twin Cities. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. She also enjoyed sewing, needle point, and ceramics. Margaret is survived by her children Karen (Duane) Hauge of Rosemount, MN, Jim (Joan “Casey”) Petersen of LaCrosse, WI, Michael (Patti) Petersen of Rock Hill, So. Carolina, five grandchildren Julie (Dan) Anderson, Prior Lake, MN, Jeff Hauge, St. Paul, Cory Petersen, Holt, Michigan, Colin Petersen, Oregon, WI, Ryan Petersen, Hendersonville, No. Carolina, great grandchildren Katie Graham, Jordan and Jessica Anderson, siblings Marcella Lewis, Hudson, Florence Kordosky, Avon, MN, Lucille (Harry) Colberg, Jacksonville, FL, and brother-in-law Lawrence Peterson, River Falls. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Arthur, siblings Susie Lundy, Vince Paulus, Joe Paulus, Raymond Matzek, Vince Matzek, and Clarence Matzek.

Mass Of Christian Burial for Margaret will be 11AM Tuesday July 31st at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson with Father John Parr officiating. Burial will be in the Willow River cemetery in Hudson with her grandchildren as casketbearers. Visitation will be on hour prior to the mass at church on Tuesday. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.

Nehr, JoAnn age 86 of Somerset died July 30th.

Jo Ann Nehr (Cody) a resident of Somerset, WI for the last two years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota on July 30, 2007 at the age of 86. Formerly a resident of Eagle River, WI for 27 years, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nehr and son, Thomas Nehr. As a homemaker, Jo Ann enjoyed raising three sons, reading and volunteering at the Eagle River Hospital. Survivors include her; sons, Michael (Betsy) Nehr of Lutz, FL, Richard (Karen) of Somerset, WI; two grandchildren, Peter (Julie) of Oconomowoc, WI, and Andrew (Tracy) of Appleton, WI; and six great-grandchildren. “Nana, your strength and wisdom will always be cherished and our love and respect for you will remain forever in our hearts.” Per the family’s wishes, there will be no services held. O’Connell Family Funeral Homes and Countryside Crematory assisted the family.
