RAYMOND A. RUTSKE
Raymond A. Rutske retired from MN Mutual. He was born Feb. 25, 1930. He passed away at the age of 75. He was from Sturgeon Lake, formerly of the twin cities. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 14, 2005.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly; children: Linda (Steve) Diehl; David (Nancy); Sherry Hoffman; Susan (Bill) Ratzlaff; Kathy (Greg) Ranczka and James (Dacia); 10 grandchil
dren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Viola (David) Chaffee; and his faithful best friend, Muffin.
Funeral Service was held 11 AM Monday, Sept. 19th at SOUTHERN FUNERAL HOME, 414 Marie Ave., So. St. Paul. Visitation was 2-6 PM Sunday, Sept. 18th and 1 hr. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park in Minneapolis.

WILHELMINA "MENA" M. WALETZKO
Wilhelmina "Mena" M. Waletzko, 92, died on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Elim Care Center in Princeton, MN. Mena was born on March 29, 1913, to Steven and Anna (Schoumaker) Purull in Norman Township, MN. She attended the Messenger School there through the eighth grade. On Nov. 28, 1935, she married Julius Waletzko in the Catholic church in Bruno, MN. Mena and Julius lived on and worked the family farm in Norman Township near Willow River for 25 years. They moved to Bruno in 1960 and farmed there until JuliusŐ death on Oct. 15, 1984. Mena remained on the farm and worked at General Andrews Nursery in Willow River for several years. Mena enjoyed quilting, gardening, raising flowers, picking berries and making jams and jellies. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bruno.
Wilhelmina was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Julius; and sisters: Florence Purull, Phyllis Lingle and Lillian Berg.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Donna) Waletzko of Alexandria, MN; daughter, Marlene (Jim) Sullivan of Santa Rosa, CA; brother, Frank "Buddy" Purull of Willow River; sister, Loretta Pletcher of Sandstone; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, in St. Luke's Catholic Church in Sandstone with Father Al Henger officiating. There was a visitation on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hansen-Mankie Funeral Home in Sandstone. A Rosary was said at 6:30 during the visitation. Arrangements were made by Hansen-Mankie Funeral Home in Sandstone.

LYNN ALLEN KIMINSKI
Lynn Allen Kiminski, 50, Willow River, died suddenly on Sunday, September 25, 2005 in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born on October 26, 1954 to Jacob and Shirley (Cisar) Kiminski. Lynn grew up in Birch Creek Township and attended Willow River High School graduating in 1972. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. On May 28, 1977, Lynn married Elaine Mikrot in Sturgeon Lake. Lynn worked for Jamar Company in Duluth and later for Commercial Roofing and Custom Metal Works in Barnum before returning back to Jamar Company where he currently was employed. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Local 10. Lynn was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake. He loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, traveling, and especially spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Shirley Kiminski and brother: Tim Kiminski.
Lynn will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years, Elaine; four children: Rachel Kiminski, Janelle Kiminski, Bonnie Kiminski, and Jacob Kiminski all of Willow River; Father: Jacob Kiminski of Willow River; Sister: Dana (Bill) Carlson of International Falls; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 1 PM in St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake. Father Frank Paquette was the celebrant. David Bouschor led the recessional with bag pipes. Casket Bearers were Randy Kiminski, Rick Cisar, Barry Goodnature, Nick Mikrot, Matt Peterson, and Louie Pufall. Honorary Bearers were Ron Hadley, Dave Tindall, and Mike Zipoy. Burial was in St. Isidore's Catholic Cemetery, Sturgeon Lake with Military Honors provided by the Hansen-Anderson American Legion Post #361 of Sturgeon Lake -- Denham.

NORMA ARLENE CARLSON
Norma Arlene Carlson, 76, of Barnum and formerly of Duluth, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, in Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake, MN. She was born in Eveleth on Feb. 11, 1929, to George and Anna (Johnson) Koski. She graduated from the Eveleth High School in 1946. She married Raymond J. Carlson in Eveleth in 1953. Norma loved to crochet, do crossword puzzles, read and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Duluth.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her son, John and her granddaughter, Jessica Peterson.
Surviving are her children: Wendy (Bruce) Peterson of Duluth; Lynette (Mark) Running of Brooklyn Park, MN; Bruce (Laurie) Carlson of Duluth and Marilyn (Jim) Barbo of Carlton, MN; a brother, Melvin (June) Koski of Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren: Krista (Mike) Volstad, Bridgett (Mike) Olson, Carl (Jenny) Anderson, Alan Carlson, Bob and Amelia Peterson, Joseph and Matthew Carlson, and Mike and Kayla Blom; great-grandchildren: Marissa, Haley and Jordan Volstad, Isabelle Olson and Isabelle Anderson; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, in the Jarvi-Dowd Funeral Home.

PETER C. KISLER
Peter C. Kisler, 59, Kettle River, died on Monday, September 19, 2005 in Sturgeon Lake Township, Pine County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on May 20, 1946 to Vernon and Ann (Svoboda) Kisler in Carlton. Peter grew up in Wright and attended school in Cromwell. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army. After serving his country, Peter lived in Michigan Peat in Cromwell and had also owned and operated Kisler Automotive in Kettle River with his son. Peter enjoyed four wheeling, fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, and especially loved spending time with friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Kisler.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his son, Bobby (Rhonda) Kisler of Kettle River; a daughter, Lora Kisler of Kettle River; his mother, Ann Kisler of Somerset, WI; a brother, Curtis (Nancy) Kisler of Dresser, WI; two sisters: Peggy (Gary) Ronkainen of Mt. Iron and Char (John) Vanous of Rush City; his grandchildren: Noah Martin Schandling-Kisler, Beau, and McKaela; and former wife and beloved friend, Dee (Greg) Koivisto of Rutledge.
Services were held on Friday, September 23, 2005 at 1:00 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake. Reverend Paul Reiff officiated. Military Honors were accorded by Pedersen-Maunula American Legion Post #379 of Moose Lake. Cremation followed the service with private family inurnment at West Branch Cemetery, Kalevala Township, Carlton County. Arrangements by Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.

MERRITT J. BROWN
Merritt J. Brown, 59, of Barnum died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at his home. He was born May 28, 1946 in Duluth to Kenneth and Jean (Buchanan) Brown. Merritt was united in marriage to Kathleen Duesler on April 30, 1969 in Moose Lake. Merritt was a Grader Operator for the Carlton County Highway Department. He was also a Superintendent for the children's barn at the Carlton Co. Fair as well as a State Fire Warden. Merritt enjoyed hunting, watching John Wayne movies, his new puppy, Mitsey, and especially loved spending time with his boys and grandchildren.
Merritt is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth and his mother-in-law, Eleanor Duesler.
Merritt is survived by his wife, Kathleen of Barnum; 2 sons, Mike (Laura) Brown of Barnum and Tom (Sally) Brown of Barnum, his mother, Jean Brown of Moose Lake; 7 grandchildren, Lauren and Brandon Bilderback, Jesse, Jeziemarane, Christopher, Emilie, and Cadence Brown; 1 sister, Pat Jean Brown of Duluth.
Visitation will be Friday, October 7, from 6-8 PM in Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake and Saturday, October 8, from 10 until the 11 AM Service in Barnum United Methodist Church of Barnum with Reverend Lee Kantonen officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Barnum. Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.

DARRELL EDWARD OMAN
Darrell Edward Oman, 57, of Barnum died Wednesday, September 28, 2005 in St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born November 17, 1947 in Barnum to George and Beatrice (Pringle) Oman. Darrell graduated from Barnum High School in 1965. After high school, Darrell worked at US Steel in Duluth until enlisting in the Army. He served in the 199th Lite Infantry Recon during the Vietnam War. Darrell was a very proud veteran and was considered it an honor to serve his country. After the war, he returned home and went to work at Conwed in Cloquet until 1983.-- He later worked at WLSSD for a short time. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working outside.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Oman; and his special granddaughter, Brittany Bea Goad.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly (Patrick) Goad of Barnum; son, Brian Oman of Barnum; sisters, Carol (Rueben) Westendorf of Barnum and Darlene (Richard) Okerlund of Esko; sister-in-law, Norma Jean (Ricky) Oman of Hanna, Florida died Sunday, September 4, 2005, at her residence. She was born in Kettle River and moved to Florida.

KEVIN GEORGE BOTTILA
Kevin George Bottila, 53, Duluth, formerly of McGregor, died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. He was born April 26, 1952 in Duluth, the son of George and Margaret (Luukkonen) Bottila. Kevin was the Salutatorian of the 1970 graduating class of McGregor High School and graduated from the U of M Twin Cities with a degree in math. He worked at Control Data in Eagan, MN, for a number of years and was most recently employed as a systems technician for FondDuLuth Casino. Kevin was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed watching all sports events and spending time with his family, especially during the holidays.
Kevin was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his parents, George and Margaret Bottila of Moose Lake; his sister, Shanna (Ken) Dahlberg of Moose Lake; two nieces and a nephew, Angela (Isaac) Gran, Tanya Dahlberg (fiance Taggert Medgaarden) and Chad Dahlberg (Greta Giersdorf); a great nephew, Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin.
