Katie P. Olson, age 82 of Sawyer, MN passed away on September 3, 2007. She was born on January 25, 1925 to Albert and Mary Porter. Katie was a member of the Fond du Lac Band of the Lake Superior Chippewa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters Elsie and Hope “Too Too”; and son Danny.
Katie is survived by her children, Joanne (Butch) Olson, Myrtle Soukkala, Jacob “Sonny” Greensky, Jackie (Norm) Pederson, FayAnn Greensky, Gil (Sandy) Greensky, Bobbi (Kent) Olsen and Tina (Jeff) Sadler; over 200 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister Evelyn Olson; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm Thursday, September 6, 2007 and will continue throughout the evening until 10:00 am Friday, September 7, 2007 in the Sawyer Center, 3243 Moorhead Road, Sawyer, MN.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 7, 2007 in the Sawyer Chapel, 3247 Soukkala Drive, Sawyer, MN. Interment in Sawyer Cemetery.

Violet Elaine Goad age 79 of Wrenshall, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2007 surrounded by her family. She was born in Ladysmith, WI, on March 25, 1928 to Vernon and Gerda (Anderson) Olson. She married Clifford Goad on June 19, 1946 in Blackhoof Township, Washington Avenue, Cloquet. The visitation will continue on Tuesday September 11, 2007 from 12 noon until the 1 pm Funeral Service in Elim Lutheran Church, 2077 County Road 6, Blackhoof Township, MN. Interment will take place in the Elim Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Alvina Ruby Abramowski

Alvina Ruby Abramowski, age 76 of Cloquet passed away on September 18, 2007. She was born on December 14, 1930 to Joseph and Elizabeth DeFoe in Cloquet, MN.
She married Carl Abramowski on September 18, 1948. Alvina worked for Black Bear Casino, Fond du Lac Housing, the Fond du Lac Furnace Factory, the RBC Administration, Severson’s Fishery and the Northeastern Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl in 2004; grandson Christopher Greensky; parents; brothers Vernon, Harold and Kenneth DeFoe; and sisters Mona Thompson, Bernadine Abramowski and Phyllis Hague.
Alvina is survived by her children Carl Jr. and David; grandchildren Robert, Rachel, Derek, Amy, Allyssa, Christopher, Jody and Tiffany; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Harvey and Melvin DeFoe; sisters Elaine McFatridge, Delores Misquadace, Dorothy Cooley and Nancy Seppala; also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 5 – 8 pm in Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 OH, Carla (friend Joel) Houle, Diane Soderholm, Mike (Chris) Graves and Rick (Peggy) Graves, and many nieces and nephews who Norma treated like her own children. Norma also was a special “Gramma” to Clint Jr., Reanelle and Dennis Houle. Unless otherwise noted all of her family is from the Cloquet and surrounding area.
Visitation will be on Tuesday September 25, 2007 from 5 pm until 8 pm in the Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave, Cloquet, the visitation will continue on Saturday September 29, 2007, from 10:00 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service also in the funeral home.
Interment will be in Oakley Cemetery, Little Fork, MN at a later date.

Henrietta (Otteson) Aldous, 98, formerly of Cloquet, died in her sleep on September 26, in Bothell, California and in Kennewick, Yakima, and Bothell, Minnesota, California, and Washington Avenue, Cloquet, MN. A graveside service will also be on Friday at 2:30 pm in East Hillcrest Cemetery, Cloquet, MN.

Jeanette L. Christopherson Magnuson, age 94 of Carlton and Cloquet, passed away on October 8, 2007 in Glendale Heights, Ill. She was born on March 8, 1913 in Superior, WI to Chris and Annie (Brockberg) Storberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Oliver and Carl; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Jeanette is survived by her children Elsie (Greydon) Warren, Mary Fisher and Orville (Renee) Christopherson; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 from 4 – 6 PM at Handevidt Funeral Home, 900 Washington Ave, Cloquet. The visitation will continue on Saturday, October 13, 2007 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service also in the funeral home. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Carlton, MN.
