Bryan W. Sharp
1917-1999
LATHROP, Mo. -- Bryan W. Sharp, 82, Lathrop, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at the Liberty, Mo., hospital.
Mr. Sharp, a retired farmer, was born in Ray County, Mo., on April 6, 1917.
He attended the Mound School in Caldwell County, Mo., and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lawson, Mo.
On Aug. 13, 1939, he married Lela Cooper in Lawson. She survives of the home.
Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by an infant son; his parents, Martin and Carrie; and three brothers, Roy, Robert and Ray.
Additional survivors: two sisters, Naomi Mayes, Polo, Mo., and Louise Mellon, Lawson.
Service: 2 p.m. Friday, United Methodist Church, Lawson. Burial: Prairie Ridge Cemetery, Polo. Family visitation: 7 to 8:30 tonight at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lathrop. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Lawson.

Doris A. Smith
1912-1999
CRAIG, Mo. -- Doris A. Smith, 86, Craig, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, from injuries suffered in a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 59 about a mile north of Mound City, Mo.
Miss Smith worked for the United States Corps of Engineers in Washington, D.C., from 1942 to 1946 and the joint chiefs of staff at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., until retiring in 1963. She also was employed by the Area Agency for Aging in Maryville and Albany, Mo., for several years.
Born in Hastings, Neb., on Dec. 4, 1912, she lived in Washington, D.C., before moving to Craig in 1963.
Miss Smith graduated from the Hastings high school and earned a degree from the Hastings Business College. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Craig, where she was active in the women's group.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John P. and Mabel E. Smith; a brother, Glenn A. Smith; and a sister, Frances A. Graham.
Surviving: a niece, Dortheda Livengood, Mound City; four great-nieces and nephews; and eight great-great-nieces and nephews.
Service: 10 a.m. Friday, Presbyterian Church, Craig. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Mound City. Family visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Chamberlain Funeral Home, Mound City. Memorials may be made to the Craig Presbyterian Church.

Margaret Thompson
1920-1999
ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Margaret (Breit) Thompson, 79, Alexandria, formerly of St. Joseph, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at a hospital in Alexandria.
Mrs. Thompson worked in public health nursing in St. Louis and for the American Cancer Society in Fairfax County, Va., for several years.
Born in Andrew County, Mo., near Savannah, Mo., on March 28, 1920, she lived between Savannah and St. Joseph before moving to St. Louis and the Alexandria area in 1946.
Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of the Savannah high school; St. Joseph Junior College in St. Joseph and Barnes Hospital, School of Nursing, at St. Louis. She received a graduate degree in public health nursing from Washington University in St. Louis.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church in Alexandria and the former Cumberland Ridge Presbyterian Church, south of Savannah.
On Aug. 11, 1943, she married James N. Thompson in St. Louis. He died in 1976.
Mrs. Thompson also was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lucille Breit; and a sister, Dorothy Robb.
Surviving: two daughters, Mary Pruiett, Katonah, N.Y., and Jane Hays, Richmond, Va.; a son, James N., Arlington, Va.; a sister, Mary L. Breit, St. Joseph; and four grandchildren.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Goodwin House, a retirement facility, in Alexandria. The body will be cremated. Inurnment: at a later in Arlington National Cemetery. Arrangements: Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, Alexandria. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Glennie W. Wilson
1941-1999
SPICKARD, Mo. -- Glennie W. (Sanders) Wilson, 58, Spickard, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at her residence.
Born in Vian, Okla., on June 23, 1941, Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of the high school there. She resided in Spickard since her marriage.
She was a member of the auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8220 in Belton, Mo.; and Grundy County, Mo., Democratic Club.
On Oct. 27, 1963, she married W.A. Wilson in Spickard. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Holley B. and Telitha Sanders; and five brothers, John, Mose, Charles, Gus and Jack Sanders.
Additional survivors: a daughter, Tonya Bardwell, Spickard; three sons, Mark Sanders, Spickard, and Mike Sanders and Denver Wilson, both of Centralia, Mo.; three sisters, Kathryn Hill, Denver, Mary James, Marble City, Okla., and Jane Vandenboom, Belton; three brothers, Bill Sanders, Independence, Mo., Tom Sanders, Vian, and Sonny Sanders, Odessa, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside service and burial: 10 a.m. Friday, North Evans Cemetery, east of Spickard. There is no scheduled family visitation. Arrangements: Wise and Slater Funeral Chapel, Spickard. Memorials may be made to the North Evans Cemetery or Wright Memorial Hospice, Trenton, Mo.

Helen E. McCrary
1916-1999
HAMILTON, Mo. -- Helen Elizabeth McCrary, 82, Hamilton, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at a hospital in Liberty, Mo.
Mrs. McCrary worked for the Chevrolet Co. in Hamilton for 30 years. She also was a former bookkeeper at MFA in Hamilton and worked for the government while living in St. Louis.
Born Sept. 14, 1916, in Daviess County, Mo., she lived in Hamilton most of her life, except for six years living in St. Louis.
Mrs. McCrary was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday school and youth teacher. She also was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Monday Club.
In 1996, her husband, Leo C. McCrary, preceded her in death.
Surviving: a sister, Dorothy McCrary-Shaney, Hamilton.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Hamilton United Methodist Church. Burial: Highland Cemetery, Hamilton. Visitation: after 5 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. There is no scheduled family visitation. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Hamilton United Methodist Church.

Bonnie L. Nigh
1916-1999
PRINCETON, Mo. -- Bonnie Lucille (Alexander) Nigh, 83, Princeton, died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at a hospital in Trenton, Mo.
Mrs. Nigh worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Lambert Hospital in Princeton, and later received training as a lab technician in Smithville, Mo. She worked as a lab technician at the Noll Memorial Hospital in Bethany, Mo., until her retirement in 1958.
Born April 15, 1916, near Spickard, Mo., she was reared in Spickard and was a graduate of Spickard High School.
Mrs. Nigh was a member of the Christian Church in Modena, Mo.
On March 9, 1935, she married Loris L. Nigh. He died on Feb. 3, 1999.
Mrs. Nigh also was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lola Alexander; and a brother, Alva Alexander.
Surviving: a son, George, Princeton; a brother, Raphael Alexander, Princeton; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel, Princeton. Burial: Hamilton Cemetery, west of Modena. Visitation: after 8 a.m. today at the funeral home. There is no scheduled family visitation. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Hamilton Cemetery, in care of Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Services, P.O. Box 316, Princeton, MO 64673.

Sylvia M. Schebaum
1918-1999
TARKIO, Mo. -- Sylvia Minerva (Neff) Schebaum, 81, Tarkio, formerly of Westboro, Mo., died Monday, July 5, 1999, at a Tarkio health-care center.
Born June 23, 1918, in Hamilton, Mo., Mrs. Schebaum was a member of the Champion City (Mo.) Methodist Church.
On Jan. 15, 1937, she married Harold E. Schebaum in Sullivan, Mo., where they lived and farmed until moving east of Tarkio in 1959. In 1962, they moved to Westboro, where they lived until moving to southwest Iowa in 1964. They retired and returned to Westboro in 1977. He died in 1993.
Mrs. Schebaum also was preceded in death by a son, Donald E.; her parents, Albert and Cora Neff; a sister; and three brothers.
Surviving: four sons, Delmar, Westboro, Dewayne, Farragut, Iowa, Derrell, Shenandoah, Iowa, and Dennis, Cameron, Mo.; five daughters, Norma Weiskopf, Sullivan, Wanda Wilson, Plaque Mine, La.; Betty Parr, Little Sioux, Iowa, Elvada Tyler, Burlington Junction, Mo., and Debra Driskell, Tarkio; two brothers, Clyde Neff, Sullivan, and Reynold Neff, Potosi, Mo.; a sister, Irene Woodland, Dixon, Mo.; 34 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro. Visitation: after 11 a.m. today, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. There is no scheduled family visitation.

Leonard J. Wehking
1940-1999
NORTONVILLE, Kan. --Leonard James Wehking, 58, Nortonville, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at a hospital in Atchison, Kan.
Mr. Wehking farmed for many years and was a maintenance mechanic and welder at the Con-Agra Grain Co. in Atchison.
Born Sept. 20, 1940, in Winchester, Kan., he was a graduate of Atchison County Community High School.
Mr. Wehking was a member of the Kansas National Guard and the St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Nortonville.
On July 28, 1962, he married DeAnn Kearney in Atchison. She survives of the home.
Mr. Wehking was preceded in death by a son; his parents, William C. and Alma; and a sister.
Additional survivors: three daughters, Carol Wehking of the home, Angie Gatzemeyer, Effingham, Kan., and Tracy Brull, Atchison; a brother, Norman, Wichita, Kan., and two grandchildren.
Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Nortonville. Burial: Nortonville Cemetery. Family visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, O'Trimble Funeral Home, Nortonville. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association.

Marion Willis
1926-1999
ATCHISON, Kan. -- Marion Willis, 72, Atchison, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at an Atchison hospital.
Born Sept. 7, 1926, in Bonner Springs, Kan., he was reared and attended elementary school there. He lived in Atchison since 1971, and was a member of the Rushville (Mo.) Christian Church.
Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt and Lorean.
Surviving: a sister, Dr. Frances Graham, Junction City, Kan.
Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison. Burial: Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville. Visitation: 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Rushville Christian Church.

Lulu F. Kennedy
1898-1999
TORRINGTON, Wyo. -- Lulu Florence (Hutchison) Starr Kennedy, 101, Torrington, formerly of Parnell, Mo., died Friday, July 2, 1999, at a health-care center in Torrington.
Mrs. Kennedy, a former homemaker, also had taught at rural schools in Nodaway County, Mo., and Goshen County, Wyo., which included Wilcox, Mount Everest and Champion Hill.
Born on Jan. 2, 1898, she was a graduate of the Parnell high school and attended summer sessions at the Normal School, now Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville, Mo.
Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Methodist churches in Parnell and Torrington; Order of the Eastern Star, Parnell; and Rebekah Lodge, Gleaners Union of Goshen County and Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, all of Torrington.
On May 7, 1919, she married Forbes Starr in Parnell. He died in 1962. In 1968, she married Claude Kennedy in Torrington. He died in 1992.
Mrs. Kennedy also was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Lear Hutchison; and two brothers, Oscar and Clarence A. Hutchison.
Surviving: a sister, Mertie E. Nelson, Maryville.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. today, Methodist Church, Torrington. Burial: Torrington Cemetery. Arrangements: Colyer Funeral Home, Torrington.

Dorothy L. Kenyon
1906-1999
Dorothy L. (Johnson) Kenyon, 93, St. Joseph, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at her residence.
Mrs. Kenyon had been employed as a nurse's aide at the former Methodist Medical Center in St. Joseph for six years.
Born in Stanberry, Mo., on June 17, 1906, she had been a resident of St. Joseph since 1963.
She was a member of the Island City (Mo.) Christian Church.
On Aug. 19, 1930, she married Jacob W. Kenyon. He is deceased.
Mrs. Kenyon also was preceded in death by her parents, George L. and Mary M. Johnson; a sister, Ervbelle Johnson; and five brothers, Frank, Ray, Herschel, Harry and Shelby Johnson.
Surviving: three sons, Bobby L., Holts Summit, Mo., James W., San Antonio, Texas, and Rex O., Plain City, Ohio; a daughter, Betty Schneider, St. Joseph; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Thursday, Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. The body will be cremated following the service. Inurnment: at a later date. Visitation: after 10:30 a.m. today, at the chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

Wilma B. Latta
1919-1999
SENECA, Kan. -- Wilma B. (Ratliff) Latta, 80, Seneca, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at Topeka, Kan., hospital.
Mrs. Latta worked as an Avon representative and had worked for Exhibit Film Delivery as a freight deliverer for several years. She also had worked in the Sabetha-Seneca Cable TV office and she retired as a cook from the Nemaha Valley School, Kansas, in 1981.
Born Feb. 13. 1919, on a farm near Frankfort, Kan., she attended La Grange School, south of Frankfort.
Mrs. Latta was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church.
On July 29, 1934, she married Albert J. Latta at Frankfort. They lived in Marietta, Oketo and Independence, Kan., before moving to Axtell, Kan., in 1940, and then to Seneca in 1951. He died in 1974.
Mrs. Latta also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lou A. Forst; and her parents, Leman P. and Anna B. Ratliff.
Survivors: a son, Ronald, McPherson, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Seneca United Methodist Church. Burial: Marysville (Kan.) City Cemetery. Visitation: after 8:30 a.m. today, Lauer Funeral Home, Seneca, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Seneca United Methodist Church, in care of the family.
