Frederick E. Ham
1905-1999
IRVINE, Missouri for three years before moving to Hiawatha, Kan. In Hiawatha, he worked at the Kissinger Green house for 15 years.
He then entered the Air Force, serving during World War II. After his service, he moved to Tuluca Lake, Calif.
William R. Judah Jr.
1926-1999
William R. Judah Jr., 72, St. Joseph died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mr. Judah was a baker for Beaty's Grocery Store, retiring after 34 years of service.
Born Sept. 3, 1926, in DeKalb, Mo., Mr. Judah lived his life in the St. Joseph area.
Mr. Judah served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the DeKalb Christian Church.
On April 9, 1949, he married Doris Matthews in Atchison, Kan. She survives of the home.
Mr. Judah was preceded in death by his parents, William R. and Louella; a brother, Samuel; and two sisters, Martha Frambrough, and Sarah Sutton.
Additional survivors: two daughters, Patricia Colo., and Bob, Kerrville, Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron.
Bertilla F. Prawitz
1915-1999
Bertilla F. (Brychta) Prawitz, 83, St. Joseph, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at a St. Joseph health-care center.
Mrs. Prawitz, a homemaker, was a registered nurse at the former St. Joseph Hospital, St. Joseph, before her marriage.
Born March 31, 1915, in St. Joseph, she was a graduate of Central High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing.
Mrs. Prawitz was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Joseph, and St. Anne's Altar Society of the church.
On Oct. 20, 1940, she married Robert F. Prawitz. They moved to Cosby, Mo., in 1978, where she lived until returning to St. Joseph in 1998. He died in 1993.
Mrs. Prawitz also was preceded in death by her parents, Henry H. and Bertha T. Brychta; two sisters, Henrietta Roesle and Catherine Brychta; and a brother, Paul Brychta.
Surviving: three daughters, Roberta Seevers and Carol Wilson, both of St. Joseph, and Mary A. Jones, Maryville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial: 11 a.m. Monday, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation: after 9 a.m. today and Sunday, Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight and Sunday. Hannah A. Roach

Hannah A. (Elkins) Roach, 75, St. Joseph, died Thursday, March 4, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mrs. Roach was a caregiver at Bliss Manor, St. Joseph, and was formerly employed in food service at Donaldson's Drugs, St. Joseph. She also was a registered nurse at the former Sister's Hospital, St. Joseph.
Born Feb. 26, 1924, in New Columbia, Ill., she resided most of her life in St. Joseph.
Mrs. Roach was a member of King Hill Christian Church and a member of the Alamander Square Dance Club, both of St. Joseph.
On June 27, 1946, she married Francis G. Roach in Troy, Kan. He died in 1981.
Mrs. Roach also was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph L. and Nellie C. Elkins; a brother, Randolph Elkins; a sister, Jodeen Oliver; and a grandchild.
Surviving: two daughters, Cindy B. Roach, of the home, and C. Louise Judy, Granby, Mo.; two sons, Bill J. and Gary L., both of St. Joseph; a sister, Genevivie Easterday, Grantsburg, Ill.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Millie A. Runyan

HIAWATHA, Kan. -- Millie A. (Chesnut) Runyan, 93, Hiawatha, died Friday, March 5, 1999.
Born April 27, 1905, in Reserve, Kan., she attended Lost Creek School in rural Reserve.
She was a member of the Reserve Christian Church.
She married George E. Miner, who died in 1965. She then married Carroll C. Runyan. He died in 1993.
Mrs. Runyan also was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Ella Chesnut.
Surviving: a son, Earl Miner, Humboldt, Neb.; a daughter, Geneva Hansen, Ralston, Neb.; two stepdaughters, Norma Eckwert and Martha Runyan, both of Falls City, Neb.; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and five step great-great-grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Monday, Clark Funeral Home, Falls City. Burial: Hiawatha Cemetery. Family visitation: 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Lois V. Seidt

GLADSTONE, Mo. - Lois Victorine (Klein) Seidt, 67, Gladstone, formerly of Chillicothe, Mo., died Thursday, March 4, 1999, in San Antonio, Ohio, -- Mary Ellen (Fischer) Spears, 81, Findlay, formerly of Atchison, Kan., died Friday, March 5, 1999, at a Findlay, Ohio and a former member of Atchison Presbyterian Church and Church Women's Circle.
On Jan. 16, 1944, she married Melvin Spears. He died in 1980.
Mrs. Spears also was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Vivian Fischer; and a brother, Marc Fischer.
Surviving: a daughter, Barbara Wanstedt, Findlay, Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
