Ralph H. Lammers
1920-1999
RUSHVILLE, Mo. -- Ralph H. Lammers, 78, Rushville, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mr. Lammers had been employed by the Missouri Highway Department for many years until retiring. Before that, he had worked for Hunt's Orchard of St. Joseph.
Born in Sioux City, Iowa, on Sept. 25, 1920, he had lived in Andrew County, Mo., before moving to Rushville in 1965.
Mr. Lammers was a member of the Sugar Creek Baptist Church, Rushville, and American Legion Post No. 1000.
On April 23, 1946, he married Alberta Hughes. She died in 1972.
Mr. Lammers also was preceded in death by his second wife, the former Delores Denton; his parents, Henry H. and Ida M.; three brothers, Bill, Frank and George; and three sisters, Ellen Wininski, Mary Springs and Helen Levinsky.
Surviving: three daughters, Jovita Evans and Alfreda Lammers, both of St. Joseph, and Lamonia Bauer, Abilene, Kan.; two stepsons, Fred Steeby, Rosendale, Mo., and George Steeby, Wathena, Kan.; two brothers, Oscar, Savannah, Mo., and Charlie, Kansas City; two sisters, Marguerite Dalke and Darlene Pierce, both of Wyoming; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Service: 3 p.m. Saturday, Meierhoffer Family Funeral Care, St. Joseph. Burial: Highland Cemetery, Oregon, Mo. Family visitation: 7 to 8:30 tonight, at the funeral home.

Howard L. Larkin
1922-1999
CHILLICOTHE, Mo. Howard Lester Larkin, 77, Chillicothe, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at a Kansas City hospital.
Mr. Larkin had been a grain and cattle farmer until his retirement.
Born in Burt, Mich., on March 12, 1922, he moved from St. Charles, Mich., to Chillicothe in 1964.
He attended school in St. Charles and was a member of the Lock Springs, Mo., Masonic Lodge.
On Dec. 23, 1944, he married Frances M. Rice in Chesaning, Mich. She is deceased.
Mr. Larkin also was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth F. and Mary.
Surviving: two daughters, Marian Critten and Joann Ranes, both of Chillicothe; a son, Don, Chillicothe; two brothers, Elmer, Indiana, and Bruce, Michigan; five sisters, Margaret Hall, Geraldine Oaks, Wilma Meyers and Alice Briskey, all of Michigan, and Lula Heise, California state; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Cornerstone Church, Chillicothe. Burial: Lock Springs Cemetery. Visitation: noon to 8 p.m. today, at the Norman-Wagy-Gordon Funeral Home, Chillicothe, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight. Memorials may be made to the Lock Springs Cemetery or American Heart Association in care of the funeral home or church.

Frederick W. Motzkus
1912-1999
STANBERRY, Mo. Frederick W. Motzkus, 86, Stanberry, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at a North Kansas City, Mo., hospital.
Mr. Motzkus, a retired farmer, was born in Cowley County, Kan., on Dec. 27, 1912, and moved to Stanberry at age seven. He was a graduate of the Stanberry high school, where he was salutatorian.
He was a member of the Mount Zion Church, near Stanberry, where he taught Sunday School; Gentry County Barbershop Choir; Stanberry School Board, of which he was a past president; and Feeder Calf Association of Gentry County, of which he was a former board director. In 1990, he was recognized for keeping crop statistics and annual reports for 50 years by the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
He and his wife, Sarah, were among those who initiated innoculations and health care programs for Gentry County, Mo., and were volunteers at the Pineview Manor in Stanberry.
On May 21, 1942, he married Sarah M. Goss in King City, Mo. She died in 1998.
Mr. Motzkus also was preceded in death by two daughters, Billie E. and Joanne P. Motzkus; and a grandchild.
Surviving: four daughters, Gail F. Spence, Kansas City, Alice M. Kidd, Gladstone, Mo., Maida L. Peterson, Nevada, Iowa, and Jeannie E. Cochell, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Nadia Jones, Jacksonville, N.C.; two stepsisters, Jean Kellison, Fallon, Nev., and Mary Buehler, Chattanooga, Tenn.; and eight grandchildren.
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Johnson Funeral Home, Stanberry. Burial: Highridge Cemetery, Stanberry. Family visitation: 6:30 to 8 tonight, at the funeral home.

Dorothy A. Palmer
1928-1999
Dorothy A. (Bennett) Palmer, 71, St. Joseph, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Palmer had been employed as a cashier and clerk at the Industrial City Market for 18 years.
Born in St. Joseph on March 9, 1928, she was a lifelong resident of St. Joseph. She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in St. Joseph.
On June 28, 1948, she married James C. Palmer. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Palmer was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde J. and Frances E. Bennett; an infant sister, Shannon E. Bennett; and a grandchild.
Additional survivors: a daughter, Janis L. Bryant, St. Joseph; a brother, Richard C. Bennett, St. Joseph; and a grandchild.
Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Meierhoffer Family Funeral Care, St. Joseph. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Family visitation: 6 to 8 tonight, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Community Presbyterian Church, St. Joseph.

Duwayne H. Rebel
1935-1999
COPPERAS COVE, Texas --Duwayne Hubert Rebel, 63, Copperas, formerly of Craig, Mo., died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in Terrell, Texas.
Mr. Rebel had spent his early years on the family near Craig. He farmed at Craig until moving to Copperas Cove in 1985. Then he owned and operated the Cedar Hills Realty in Copperas Cove.
In 1989, he began driving for J.B. Hunt Trucking and became the owner of his own truck leasing business, both in Copperas Cove, in 1991. During 1994, he received his own national authority to operate an interstate trucking company, D. Rebel Enterprises, which he was operating at the time of his death. He and his son, Keith, also continued to manage the real estate business.
Born in Craig on June 14, 1935, he graduated from the Craig high school and served in the Army from 1957 to 1958. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Rock Port, Mo.
On Feb. 3, 1963, he married Sandra A. Guy, near Craig. She died in February of 1999.
Mr. Rebel also was preceded in death by his parents, George J. and Ida K.; and a sister, Wanda Haer.
Surviving: three sons, Keith and Dean, both of Copperas Cove, and Gene, Columbus, Texas; a daughter, Rheta Muniz, Hopkinsville, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. Burial: Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Craig. Family visitation: 6 to 8 tonight, at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port.

William E. Adkins
SHREVEPORT, La. -- William E. "Mike" Adkins, 93, Shreveport, formerly of Graham, Mo., died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at his residence.
Mr. Adkins, an artist, was born in Graham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ida; and two brothers, Selwyn H. and Franklin T.
Surviving: a niece, Monica Vitti; a nephew, Rolland; and Dixie Cook, who had cared for him.
Burial: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham. A funeral service was held Friday, April 16, at the Rose-Neath's Marshall Memorial Chapel, Shreveport. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. Also arrangements: Johnson Funeral Home, Maryville, Mo.

Ruby Brown
1903-1999
Ruby (Stewart) Brown, 96, St. Joseph, died Friday, April 16, 1999, at a St. Joseph health-care center.
Born in Centerview, Mo., on March 7, 1903, Mrs. Brown then moved to Kansas City, where she spent most of her life. She was a resident of St. Joseph for five years.
A former homemaker, she was a member of the Wyatt Park Christian Church in St. Joseph.
In 1920, she married Theodore Brown. He died in 1986.
Mrs. Brown also was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Anice Stewart; a sister, Odessa; and a brother, Dewey.
Surviving: a daughter, Lavonne Culver, St. Joseph; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Monday, Wyatt Park Christian Church, St. Joseph. Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery, Kansas City. Family visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Monday, Muehlebach Funeral Home, Kansas City.

L. Bebe Clinton
1916-1999
DADE CITY, Fla. -- Laura Bebe (Threlkeld) Clinton, 82, Dade City, formerly of St. Joseph, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at a hospital in Dade City.
Mrs. Clinton was employed in the nursing field and worked for the Job Corps, retiring as director of nurses training with the Job Corps in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Born in St. Joseph on Aug. 30, 1916, she lived in Excelsior Springs before retiring to Agency, Mo. Later she moved to Dade City.
She was a graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph. Mrs. Clinton was a member of the Agency Christian Church and All Faith United Church at Dade City.
On Oct. 1, 1939, she married Donald F. Clinton. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Clinton was preceded in death by a son, Kirkland; her parents, James and Carrie Threlkeld; and a brother and a sister.
Additional survivors: a son, Marty C., Joelton, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday, April 10, at the All Faith United Church in Dade City. The body was cremated. A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date in Agency.

William R. Hart Sr.
1925-1999
William R. "Bill" Hart Sr., 73, St. Joseph, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Hart retired from the East Hills Shopping Center in 1989 after 12 years as a maintenance supervisor. He also worked for Swift and Co. as an electrician for 27 years before it closed, and at Blueside and Pearl Brewery, all of St. Joseph.
Born in Prescott, Kan, on Sept. 8, 1925, he resided in St. Joseph for most of his life. He attended the former Christian Brothers High School in St. Joseph and served in the Army combat engineers during World War II, receiving five Bronze Stars.
Mr. Hart was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Order of St. George. He was an honorary member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say of Boy Scouts of America, and was a scout master and assistant scout master for Troop No. 31.
On June 30, 1951, he married Willa L. Farnham. She survives of the home.
Mr. Hart was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Emma; and three brothers, Andrew F., George T. and John B.
Additional survivors: three sons, Mel, Alan L. and William Jr., all of St. Joseph; a daughter, Teresa A. Hart, St. Joseph; a brother, James, Pratt Kan.; a sister, Mary E. Hanway, St. Joseph; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Monday, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation: after 9 a.m. today at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 tonight, and a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or American Heart Association.

Garland W. Hann
1910-1999
TRENTON, Mo. -- Garland W. Hann, 89, Trenton, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at a Kansas City, Mo., hospital.
Mr. Hann was employed at Trenton Foods for 24 years before retiring in 1975. He lived in Iowa for five years before moving to Gilman City where he resided for eight years, moving to Trenton in 1945.
Born March 14, 1910, west of Spickard, Mo., Mr. Hann was raised in Grundy County, Mo.
Mr. Hann was a member and deacon of the Tenth Street Baptist Church, Trenton.
On May 14, 1933, he married Leona M. Hughes. She died in 1986.
Mr. Hann also was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Long; a son Gary W.; his parents George W. and Sarah E.; two sisters, and a brother.
Surviving: two daughters, Ella G. Trump, of the home in Trenton, and Lois Gerdts, Fremont, Neb.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Service: 1 p.m. Monday, Tenth Street Baptist Church, Trenton. Burial: Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Edinburg, Mo. There is no scheduled family visitation. Memorials may be made to the Tenth Street Baptist Church Building Fund, Trenton, Mo.

Helen Jones
1905-1999
FALLS CITY, Neb. -- Helen Jones, 93, Falls City, died Friday, April 16, 1999, at a Falls City health-care center.
Miss Jones taught grade school in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Hastings, Neb., until 1954 when she returned to live on the family farm southwest of Salem, Neb. She moved to Falls City, Neb. in 1994.
Born Aug. 12, 1905, Miss Jones was a graduate of Honey Creek High School and Peru (Neb.) State Teachers College.
Miss Jones attended First Baptist Church in Falls City.
Miss Jones was preceded in death by her parents, George E. and Josephine Jones, a brother, Paul Jones; and a sister Ruth Anderson.
Surviving: a sister, Mable Mathes, Claremont, Calif.
Service: 10 a.m. Monday, Dorr Funeral Home Chapel, Falls City. Burial: Maple Grove Cemetery, northwest of Falls City. There is no scheduled visitation.

Reilly D. Koelliker
HIGHLAND, Kan. -- Reilly Dawn Koelliker, newborn daughter of Randy R. and Mary M. Koelliker of Highland, Kan., died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Those preceding her in death were her maternal grandfather, Donald Wilmes; great-grandparents, Mary B. and Joseph O'Riley; and paternal great-grandfathers, Wesley Koelliker and Dan Hopkins.
Additional survivors: a sister Allie of the home; two brothers, Gary and Adam, both of the home; maternal grandmother, Peggy Wilmes, Maryville, Mo.; paternal grandparents, Gary and Phyllis Koelliker, Highland, Kan.; and paternal great-grandmothers, Fern Koelliker, Highland, Kan., and Helen Hopkins, Highland, Kan.
Graveside service and burial: 2:30 p.m. Sunday, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Maryville, Mo. Arrangements: Price Funeral Home, Maryville.

William R. Marshall
1923-1999
TRENTON, Mo. -- William R. "Bill" Marshall, 75, Trenton, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at a St. Joseph hospital.
Mr. Marshall was a vehicle body repairman and worked at the Tate Motor Co. in Gallatin, Mo.; Mabe Motor Co. of Princeton, Mo.; and Nisbeth-Seidel Motors at Trenton, Mo.
Born in Harrison County, Mo., on Aug. 31, 1923, he lived in Gallatin, Princeton and then Trenton since 1955.
He graduated from the Gilman City, Mo., high school and served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Marshall was a member of the 10th Street Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, Trenton; and National Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On Dec. 25, 1948, he married Dixie M. Browning in Trenton. She survives of the home.
Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Omer E. and Frankie L.; and a twin brother, Robert.
Additional survivors: two sons, Lavern, Lee's Summit, Mo., and Jerald, Pueblo, Colo.; a sister, Mona Brown, Gallatin; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, 10th Street Baptist Church, Trenton. Burial: Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Trenton. There is no scheduled family visitation. Arrangements: Slater Funeral Home, Trenton. Memorials may be made to the 10th Street Baptist Church Building Fund, Trenton.
