Kathryn E. Holman, age 95, of Independence, Missouri passed away Monday, November 25, 2002 at the Life Care Center, Grandview, Missouri.
She was born October 18, 1907 in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Sherwood Lyon. She attended school in Stet, Missouri.
On December 23, 1925 she married Wheeler R. Holman in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a housewife and mother; former member of Mt. Olivet Church, near Stet, Missouri; President of Raytown Garden Club; and a member of the China Painters; and a former member of Ray-K's.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Candace Brockman, Independence, Missouri and one great grandson, Michael Fruit.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Betty Conway; and several brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2002 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Stet, Missouri with Reverend Bob Payne officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri.

Roger Herald Butler, age 59, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at his home.
He was born September 22, 1943 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Zeline (Tippy) and Martha Melba Cunningham Butler. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1961.
On May 4, 1963 he married Bobbie Carolyn Haselroth in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Roger served in the United States Air Force; and was a driver for United Parcel Service for thirty-one years. He was a member of the Teamsters Union; and a member of the First Baptist Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
He is also survived by three children, Christina Louise Lucas, Randall Gene Butler and Michael Dean Butler, all of Kansas City, Missouri; three brothers, Russell Butler and Billy Butler, both of Independence, Missouri; Mickey Butler, Carrollton, Missouri; four sisters, Mary Steelman, Springfield, Missouri, Charlotte Pitts, Independence, Missouri, Carol Aliff, Kansas City, Missouri, Paula Butler, Carrollton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Rachelle Nicole Lucas and Andrea Marie Butler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Dale, Glen, Hugh and Derald Butler.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be Friday, November 29, 2002 at Heritage Funeral Home, Parkville, Missouri from 6-8:00 p.m.; and from 12-1:00 p.m. Saturday, before the service at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Della Lee Davis, age 90, of Brunswick, Missouri passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2002 at Brunswick Nursing Home, Brunswick, Missouri. She was born August 3, 1912 in Brunswick, Missouri the daughter of Clarence and Eva Tarpenning Mayhugh. On April 13, 1932 she married Ben Davis in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2002. She worked bor Angelica Garment Company in Brunswick and at Unitog in Warrensburg, Missouri. She also operated a beauty shop at home from 1972 until 1976. She was a member of the Brunswick Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Donald Lee Davis, Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Rosemary Lawson, Keytesville, Missouri, Eva Miller, Paris, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gilbert Mayhugh and Corry "Shout" Mayhugh; two sisters, Pearl Brown and Virginia Kahler; one great grandson, Benjamin Lee Davis. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in Brunswick City Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:00 p.m. before the service. Mrs. Amy M. Cowherd, 89, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2002, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital. She had resided in the Extended Care Unit since 1999.
Mrs. Cowherd was born Amy Margaret Snider on November 14, 1913, the only child of James Burton (Bert) and Jessie May Dell Snider, about five miles northeast of Carrollton, MO.
She attended Liberty Grade School and boarded with relatives while attending Carrollton High School.
She held a teaching certificate as a result of study at Central Methodist College at Fayette, MO and Central Missouri State Teacher's College at Warrensburg, MO.
She married Harold C. Cowherd, of rural Carrollton, MO, in Carrollton, Missouri, on November 30, 1934; he preceded her in death on December 25, 1994.
Mrs. Cowherd was a member of the Hartis Helpers Extension Club, a leader for the Hartis Helpers 4-H Club, and was active in the Forum Club and the Carroll County Historical Society.
Her paternal grandfather was a Confederate veteran and her maternal grandfather a Union veteran of the Civil War. With that background she became an active member of the Daughters of the Union and the Daughters of the Confederacy and saw to it that her grandsons became members of the Children of the Revolution.
Survivors include three children, Lloyd Cowherd and his wife Barbara of Littleton, Colorado, Janice Mansfield and her husband, Delbert of Nevada, Missouri, and Daniel Cowherd and his wife, Debbie of Carrollton, Missouri; four grandsons, Martin Mansfield, Frisco, Texas, Christopher Cowherd, Carrollton, MO, Kevin Mansfield, Nevada, Missouri, and Scott Cowherd, Littleton, Colorado; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2002, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, MO, with Pastor Cheryl Sanders officiating.
The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, MO.
Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, MO.

Mary Edith Willis, age 103, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2002 at the Golden Age Nursing Home, Braymer, Missouri. Graveside services were at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2002 at Brunswick City Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend Wendell Turner officiating. James Matthew Reichert, age 73, of Brunswick, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at Boone Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Funeral services were Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Brunswick, Missouri with Father Kenneth Reichert officiating. Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. The family suggests contributions be made to St. Boniface Cemetery Association in memory of Mr. Reichert. Jadyn Catherine Fay Becker, infant daughter of Jack and Joy Shields Becker, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri.
Jadyn was born November 26, 2002 at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall, Missouri.
She is survived by her parents; one sister and brother; Jocelyn Dawn Becker and Jackson Henry Lee Becker, of the home; paternal grandparents, John and Pat Becker, Carrollton, Missouri; maternal grandfather, Curtis Shields, Carrollton, Missouri; maternal grandmother, Sandy Shields, Carrollton, Missouri; maternal great grandparents, Ed and Bonnie Reeves, Stet, Missouri; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Henry and Esther Becker; John and Henrietta Panigot; great great grandparents, Ray, Sr. and Florence Bales; and a cousin, Jason Carroll.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Tom Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.

Hazel Lodema Hook, age 99, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 5, 2002 at Carroll House, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born October 25, 1903 in Carroll County, Missouri near Sugartree, the daughter of Frank L. and Dora F. Cassell Vinyard. She attended country schools and graduated as the Salutatorian from Norborne High School, Norborne, Missouri.
On March 18, 1925 she married Neil Hook in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1966. Hazel was a housewife and mother; and a member of McCroskie Creek Baptist Church, where she had been a pianist for many years.
She is survived by three daughters; Myrtle Lee Winegar, Kansas City, Kansas, Marjorie Bowen, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Martha Rae Pendleton, Topeka, Kansas; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Montie; one brother, Leo Vinyard; and three sisters, Vivian Patton, Viola Knight and Dora Florence White.
Funeral services were at 1:30 Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Bryan Fields officiating. Burial was in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.

Robert A. Mariner, age 54, of Centerview, Missouri passed away Friday, December 6, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital, Blue Springs, Missouri.
He was born March 27, 1948 in Tillamook, Oregon the son of William Oscar and Clara Marie Flesch Mariner. He attended Yam-Hill-Carlton High School in Oregon.
On December 30, 1982 he married Phyllis Leigh Maudlin in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives at the home. He was employed with Meravic in Grain Valley, Missouri. Robert was a former member of the Freedom Of The Road Motorcycle Club.
He is also survived by two sons, Rick, Blue Springs, Missouri; Bobby, Centerview, Missouri; two sisters, Carole Garrett and her husband, Dallas, Overland Park, Kansas; Shirley Shore and her husband, Ralph, Holden, Missouri; one Aunt, Betty Elliott, Raytown, Missouri.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, DeWitt, Missouri.

Cora LaVonne Harper Hanson, age 82, of O'Fallon, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2002 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.
She was born January 11, 1920 in Bogard, Missouri, the daughter of Stanley and Ina Jane Todd Harper. She graduated from Bogard High School.
On September 3, 1939 she married Clell Oldenburg Hanson, Sr. in Stet, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1982. In addition to Bogard, she had resided in Edinburg, Texas, Lawrence, Kansas, Grove, Oklahoma and most recently, O'Fallon, Illinois. She had been a wife, mother and financial secretary. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by one son, Stanley Hanson and wife, Dana, O'Fallon, Illinois; one sister, Waneta Jones, O'Fallon, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Elsie Harper, Rolla, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Hal Todd Harper and Cecil Harper.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2002 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Joe Barone officiating. Burial was in Van Horn Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri.
