SUGG OBITUARY
Marion D. Sugg, age 79, of Bogard, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the VA Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Mr. Sugg was born August 30, 1919, near Bogard, Missouri, the son of Clyde David and Minnie Enyart Sugg.
He served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater.
He graduated in 1947 from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. He received his M.A. from the University of Missouri, Kansas City; and attended graduate schools at Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg; Missouri University, Columbia; and Colorado State University, Greeley.
He was Superintendent of Schools at Bogard, Missouri, for 33 years. He also served in an administrative capacity for two years in the Carrollton School District following the annexation of Bogard School to Carrollton. Marion coached for 22 years creating a winning tradition at Bogard High School. He also farmed throughout his life on the family farm west of Bogard.
Mr. Sugg served on the Board of Directors of Bank 21 of Carrollton. He was a fifty-year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Bogard Lions Club. Also he was a member of the VFW Post #1773; the Missouri State Teachers' Association; the Missouri Association of School Administrators; the Carrollton Country Club; the Carroll County Historical Society; and had served as Democrat Committeeman of Van Horn Township.
In 1979, he was inducted into the Missouri Valley College Athletic Hall of Fame and he was the first inductee into the Constitution-Tribune-KMZU Athletic Hall of Fame.
On July 19, 1944, he was married to Norma Lee Buzard. Ever a loving wife, she survives at the home.
Other survivors include one son, David LeVan Sugg, Carrollton; a daughter, Susan Elaine Sharp, Moberly; two grandsons, Deron LeVan Sugg and Stephen Truman Sugg, both of Carrollton; a sister, V. Bernice Coca, San Bernadino, California; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Kuhlman and Bertha Kuhlman, and twin sons, Douglas Eugene who died at birth and Stephen Anthony.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Friday, April 2, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bogard.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions to the Ebenezer Cemetery or the Bogard Alumni Living Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Mr. Sugg.
Marion enjoyed his life's work in education, coaching and touching the lives of his many students and athletes.

WALTER OBITUARY
M. Lorene Walter, age 78, of Carrollton, Missouri, died March 30, 1999, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
She was born January 29, 1921, in Waverly, Missouri, the daughter of Alfred and Pauline Wessel Duval. She attended school in Waverly and lived in Carrollton for many years.
On January 4, 1946, she was married to Arthur Charles (Walt) Walter in Kansas City, Kansas. They owned and operated Walt's Service Station for 15 years and Walt's Warehouse Grocery for 12 years. Mr. Walter survives at the home.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, having been confirmed on March 25, 1934.
Other survivors include a son, David, and wife, Linda, of El Dorado, Kansas; three daughters, Cathy McGuire of Independence, Missouri, Linda, and husband, Larry Geisler, Gerald, Missouri, and Nancy, and husband, Dan Boswell, of Davis City, Iowa; one sister, Elizabeth Neer, Albuquerque, New Mexico; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Duval; and one sister, Della Schmidt.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 2, 1999, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, conducted by Pastor Eric Swyres. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
The family suggests contributions to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society in memory of Mrs. Walter. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.

DOTSON OBITUARY
Gene E. (Buck) Dotson, age 73, of rural Carrollton, Missouri, died March 21, 1999, at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
He was born November 20, 1925, in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of James Arthur and Lelia Doan Settles Dotson. He attended Star Grade School and graduated from Carrollton High School. He was a veteran, having served in World War II. He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Carroll County Shrine Club, Ararat Shrine of Kansas City, American Legion, Wakanda Lodge #52 AF & AM, and Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 of the VFW where he had served as commander and had also served as VFW District Commander.
On June 25, 1950, he was married to Bonnie Wheeler in Lexington, Missouri. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1993.
Survivors include a son, James Dotson, Carrollton; a daughter, Diann Patterson, Topeka, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason Patterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Charles, on October 6, 1997.
Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M., Thursday, March 25, at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, with Masonic Services at 8:00 P.M., at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Dotson. They may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.

NAUGHT OBITUARY
Seamer Noah Naught, age 84, of Carrollton, Missouri, died March 21, 1999, at the Carrollton Nursing Center.
He was born May 2, 1914, in Girard, Kansas, the son of William and Mertie Wheeler Naught. He attended schools in Weir, Kansas. He was a Baptist.
He worked for Banquet Foods in Carrollton for 19 years before he retired. He also worked for Union Wire and Rope for ten years and was a farmer.
On August 4, 1941, he was married to Goldie Lavon Naught in Lexington, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Alice Trent, Marshall, Missouri, and Barbara Gore, Kearney, Missouri; three sons, Tom Naught and Rick Naught, both of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Harry Naught, Eldon, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, conducted by Elder Carl Cowick. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.

RUBIE RINGER GRIMPO OBITUARY
A Carrollton, Missouri, resident, 83 year old Rubie Ellen Ringer Grimpo, passed away Friday, March 19, 1999, at the Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Rubie was born September 13, 1914, east of Carrollton, the daughter of John E. and Laura Ellen Glick Ringer. She attended Rosebud Country School and was employed at the F. M. Stamper Co. for several years.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton.
She was married to Wilhelm Henry Grimpo on September 3, 1944, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrolton. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1970.
Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Kay Starbuck, Hale, Missouri, and Ruth Ann Manley, Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Alice McDonald and Esther Murray, both of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Steven Starbuck, Sherry Marie Manley and Mark Manley, Jr; and one great- granddaughter, Lisa Marie.
She was preceded in death by one son, William Earl; one grandson, LeRoy Starbuck, Jr., her parents and three brothers.
Graveside services were conducted by Reverend Eric Swyres at 1:30 P.M., Monday, March 22, 1999, at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.

WOLF OBITUARY
William L. Wolf, age 73, of Carrollton, Missouri, died March 14, 1999, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
He was born March 11, 1926, in Kingston, Missouri, the son of Glen and Margaret Tomlinson Wolf. He attended Kingston Grade and High School and received his masters degree from CMSU in Warrensburg. He was a teacher for 40 years--31 of which were in the Carrollton School District.
He served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Carrollton.
On August 21, 1947, he was married to Mary Lou Virtue in Gallatin, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cheri Sweeney, and her husband, Dan, Carrollton; a son, William L. Wolf, Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Brian Sweeney, and his wife, Kelly, and Carri Sweeney, all of Carrollton; a great-grandchildren, Dakota Sweeney; a sister-in-law, Kathryn Davies, Independence, Missouri; and three cousins, Donna Wolf and Shirley Cook, both of Hamilton, Missouri, and Charles Wolf, Grand Lake, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, conducted by the Reverend Jim West. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton.
Visitation will be 7:00 to 8:30 P.M., Tuesday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
The family suggests contributions to the cancer fund of H.E.L.P. Services or the Carrollton United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Wolf.

KNIPSCHILD OBITUARY
Freda was born September 3, 1904 in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Christian and Katherine Ostermeier Gerling.
She attended Carrolton Grade and High School. Freda was married to Alford L. Knpschild on November 10, 1925 in Berkeley, California. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1981.
She was a licensed embalmer for the Willis and Marshall Funeral Home in Carrollton. She also served as a secretary for the Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and was a Carroll County Deputy Sheriff for 12 years.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Ladies Aide and the Carrollton Forum Club.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Freda was preceded in death by two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, with the Reverend Eric Swyres officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.

MARTIN OBITUARY
A Carrollton, MO resident, 79 year old, Roy C. Martin, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 1999 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, MO .
Roy was born April 10, 1920 in Brumley, Missouri; the son of John and Elizabeth Robinet Martin.
He had lived most of his life in the Carrollton area and recieved his education at the Root, Winfrey, and Lone Oak School which was located near Miami Station, Missouri.
On October 24, 1943 he was married to Ethel Francis Martin in Mineral Wells, Texas; she preceded him in death on January 19, 1999.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army overseas for three years in the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theatres. After returning home he followed the occupation of truck driver and heavy equipment operator. In 1958 Roy went to work for M. M. Green Quarries in Carrollton, Missouri where he was employed until February 18, 1981 when
he was forced tor retire due to failing health.
He was a member of the Miami Station Christian Church, V.F.W. Post # 1773 and was a member and Past Master of the Wakanda Lodge # 52 AF & AM in Carrollton. Roy belonged to the Scottish Rite of the Valley of Kansas City, MO. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time.
Survivors include two step-children, Billy Martin, Carrollton, Missouri and Shirley Martin Pankau, St. Joseph, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two nieces; and four nephews, all from Jefferson City, MO.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 6, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with the Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery,DeWitt, Missouri.
The family will receive family and friends from 6:30 until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 5, 1999 at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri. Masonic services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. following the visitation.

NEWSOME OBITUARY
Mary E. Newsome, age 99, of Bogard, Missouri, died March 4, 1999, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born August 15, 1899, in Fleming, Missouri, the daughter of Charles Y. and Martha Lilly Porter. She attended Fleming School.
She was a member of the Fleming Baptist Church and later the Bogard Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Bogard Fellowship Club.
On April 6, 1922, she was married to Frank M. Newsome, in Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1960.
Survivors include two sons, James Howard Newsome, Webster, Florida, and Frank Milton, Newsome, Jr., Orrick, Missouri; two daughters, Virginia Lou Belt, Bogard, and Nancy Sue Ketron, Orrick; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ralph Eugene Newsome, and four great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Reverend Edwin Shelton at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 6, 1999, at the Fleming Baptist Church in Fleming, Missouri. Burial was in South Point Cemetery, Orrick, Missouri.

PARKS OBITUARY
Frances A. Parks, age 76, of Norborne, Missouri, died August 15, 1999, at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Missouri,
She was born February 25, 1923, in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Artie Estel and Mary Frances Burkhart Cox. She attended school in Carrollton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norborne.
On December 24, 1941, she was married to Burl M. Parks, Jr. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1993.
Survivors include a son, Larry Parks, Norborne; a daughter, Linda Buhrmester, Excelsior Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Ann Shay, Blue Springs, Missouri; and Ailene Stark, Polo, Missouri; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, August 18, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
