Eugene A. Craig, age 68, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 5, 2003 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.
He was born September 6, 1934 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of Charles Ashley, Sr. and Martha Smith Craig. He attended Phyllis Wheatley Grade School in Louisville, Kentucky, Central High School in Louisville and graduated with a Master of Divinity from Phillips School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia.
On April 26, 1963 he married Dorothy Thompson in Denver, Colorado. She survives at the home.
Eugene had been Pastor of the Central Christian Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan, where he had retired in July.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Jamisom C. M. E. Church located at Benton and Linwood in Kansas City, Missouri, with Bishop Paul Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri; and from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Kidney Foundation in memory of Mr. Craig. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Grace LaVerne Johnson, age 92, of Brunswick, Missouri and formerly of Grandview, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 14, 2003 at the Brunswick Nursing Home. She was born on January 16, 1911 in Denver, Colorado the daughter of james and Lillie Bunce Hagen. She had been married to Walter Blood who preceded her in death in 1951 and later to Amos Johnson who preceded her in death in 1968. She had been a housewife and homemaker. Grace moved from Grandview, Missouri to Brunswick in 1993. She is survived by four daughters; Donna Carroll, Kansas City, Missouri, Marsha Sterling, Kansas City, Kansas, Gayle Cline, Brunswick, Missouri, Terri Bruno, Palm Springs, California; three sons, Walter Blood, Independence, Missouri, Raymond Blood, Oak Grove, Missouri, Michael Janssens, Lake Charles, Louisiana; one sister, Mary Zito, Upland, California; thirty-one grandchildren; seventy-one great grandchildren and twenty-five great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Lillie; one daughter, Lois Johnson, three brothers, one sister and her parents. Funeral services will be held at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri on Wednesday, September 17, 2003 at 1:30 p.m., with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri.

Audrey Jean Lybarger Brooks, 79, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 21, 2003 at Life Care Nursing Center in Brookfield, Missouri.
Audrey was born April 19, 1924 at Miami Station, Missouri. She was the daughter of Goldie Lillian Lybarger.
She attended schools in Miami Station, White Rock, and Wakenda, Missouri.
On October 17, 1942 she was married to Harold Eugene Brooks in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. He preceded her in death June 25, 1996.
Audrey worked at Photo File in Kansas City, Kansas for many years until moving to Miami Station in 1971 to open Brooks Garage with her husband. She was a christian and a member of the Christian Church of DeWitt, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her mother, a brother, Carl Frakes; and one sister, Delores Wilson.
Survivors include three sons, Danny Eugene Brooks, Carrollton, Missouri; Terry Ray Brooks, Richmond, Missouri; and Rickie Lynn Brooks, Carrollton, Missouri; one daughter, Connie Joyce Mann, Carrollton, Missouri; two brothers, Jim Frakes, Carrollton, Missouri; and Jack Frakes, El Dorado Springs, Missouri; one sister, Patricia Parker, Camdenton, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Jacqueline Ritzinger, Tara Bohannon, Chad Mann, Talanna Hudgins, Brian Munsch, Shauna Brooks, Amy Pabon, Erin Brooks, Mindy Kelly, and Gina Brooks. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Park Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Mrs. Brooks will lie in state Tuesday afternoon and evening.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Alzeheimers Association in memory of Mrs. Brooks. They may be mailed to or left at Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main St., Carrollton MO 64633.

Margaret Isaacs Daigle, age 62, of Round Rock, Texas passed away September 20, 2003 in Georgetown, Texas.
She was born October 8, 1940 in Bogard, Missouri to William Edgar and Loreta Stanley Isaacs, the youngest of eleven children. She graduated from Bogard High School in 1958. She was formerly married to the late Darrell L. Clevenger. She was employed with Taylor Bedding in Taylor, Texas as office manager since 1991. Her previous employment had been in the banking industry. She was a member of the Round Rock Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, William Edgar (Bill) Isaacs, Jr., John Paul Isaacs, Joe Wyckliffe Isaacs, and Glen Ray (Jim) Isaacs and two sisters, Dorothy May Emmett and Loreta Jeanette Isaacs, who died in infancy.
Survivors include one daughter, Karie Crenan and husband, Jim, of Burlington, Texas, and one son, Randy Clevenger of Georgetown, Texas. Two grandchildren, Ryan Clevenger and Kristen Rodriguez, three step grandchildren, Heather, Amy and Will Crenan; three sisters, Frances Jeune Johnson, Hazel Eleanor Sprouse and Martha Ann Smith and one brother, George Wesley Isaacs.

Delia Saunders, age 99, of Brunswick, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at the Brunswick Nursing Home. She was born on May 8, 1904 in Chariton County, Missouri the daughter of Church and Fannie Banks Chapman. she had been a maid at the Florence Hotel in Brunswick for twenty-three years and later she was a cook at the Tom Bush Hunting Club in Mendon, Missouri before she retired. She was a faithful member of the Zion A.M.E. Church at Brunswick, Missouri. She is survived by one daughter, Vera Saunders, Brunswick, Missouri and several nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Pee Wee Tooley. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. in the Brunswick City Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend Marjorie Casson and Reverend Steve Barnes officiating. Memorial contributions may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick MO 65236, in memory of Mrs. Saunders.

Anthony C. (Tony)Buban, age 89, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at Research Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
He was born August 1, 1914 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Anton and Bessie Buban. He graduated from Kirksville, Missouri High School. Tony was in the United States Army during World War II.
On August 18, 1973 he married Sarah Burruss Herndon in Alexandria, Virginia. She survives at the home.
Tony retired from Stockton Jewelry Store and was a custodian for the Carrollton School District for ten years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri; and the Knights of Columbus. Tony was a member of the Carrollton Country Club where he was an avid golfer and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
In addition to his wife, Sarah, Toni is survived by one daughter, Tonya VanCleeve, State of Florida; one son, Tony Buban, State of Texas; three sisters, Katherine Scudder, Marshall, Missouri, Marguerite Prather, Kirksville, Missouri, Louise Buban, Kirksville, Missouri; one brother, Frank Buban, Kirksville, Missouri; two grandsons, Lain Buban, State of Texas, Clifton VanCleeve, Kansas City, Missouri; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Buban, State of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Marie, Josephine and Helen and two brothers, Sam and Steve.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 4, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri. Military services will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be Friday, October 3, 2003 from 7-8:00 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Mrs. Arthur Vogelsmeier, Sr. was born July 3, 1912 on a farm two and � miles northeast of Tina, Missouri. She passed away October 4, 2003 at 91 years of age.
Verlea received her education in Tina Public Schools, then graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri in 1931. After teaching for five years at Cox School in Wakenda Township, she was married to Arthur L. Vogelsmeier on May 1, 1937.
As a member of West Grace Methodist Church, she was church secretary, pianist, and Sunday School teacher. When the country church closed, her membership was moved to Hale, Missouri. Verlea became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton where she served in Ladies' Aid and the quilting group.
The Peppy Workers 4-H Club was organized in her home and Verlea served 15 years as community and project leader. As a member of the Enthusiastic Workers Extension Club, she held many offices during her years of membership. Verlea was active in Farm Bureau, was a Cub Scout leader, and received recognition for 25 years of work in the Cancer Society. As president of the Carroll County Historical Society, she helped to furnish the museum. Verlea enjoyed writing history books and working at Our Museum for many years.
Verlea was preceded in death by her parents, Ina May and James Allomong, two brothers, Clarence Harold and Buell Raymond Allomong, a son, Arthur (Artie) Louis Vogelsmeier Jr., and a granddaughter, Sandra Sue Vogelsmeier. Survivors include her husband, Arthur L. Vogelsmeier, Sr. and a son, Gary Wayne Vogelsmeier of Carrollton and a daughter, Inalee Sell, her husband John M. Sell, and their son, Eric Preston Sell of Allen, Texas.
Visitation for Verlea Vogelsmeier will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton on Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. Interment is at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Carrollton. The family requests memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Radio Fund, Carroll County Historical Museum, or H.E.L.P. Services Cancer Fund. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Willard Bruce Kemble, age 86, of Bosworth, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at his home.
He was born November 17, 1916 in Bosworth, Missouri the son of Charles Edward and Isa Viola Crispin Kemble. He attended Mud Branch Grade School and graduated from Bosworth High School. He was in the United States Army during World War II.
On November 19, 1941 he married Wilma Gladys Grossman in Carrollton, Missouri. She preceded him in death on August 9, 1989.
Bruce worked for Remington Arms Company at Lake City, Missouri; the E. G. Grossman Co.; Wood & Lightfoot, and Danuser Machine Company where he retired in 1978. Bruce had also been a farmer. He had served on the Bosworth School Board, Ridge Township Board and Big Creek Cemetery Board. He was a member of the Bosworth Christian Church.
Bruce is survived by one daughter, Janet Gail Hudson and husband, Van, Bogard, Missouri; two sons, Jerry Bruce Kemble and wife, Melissa, Bosworth, Missouri, Larry Don Kemble and wife, Sondra, Carrollton, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Richard Kemble, Jason Kemble, Cheri Weis, Jay Hudson, Misty Williams, Toni Hall and Curtis Kemble; nine great grandchildren, Katie Kemble, Kody Kemble, Olivia Williams, Kemble Williams, Grifen Hall, Gabrielle Hall, Sydni Weis, Ty Weis and Ethan Weis.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Fred Seba officiating. Burial will be in Big Creek Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home.

Virginia Frances Fuller Smith, age 97, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2003 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on August 6, 1906 to Ada Austin Fuller and Alphonso T. Fuller in Carroll County, Missouri and married James Calvin Smith on November 9, 1927 in Carrollton, Missouri. Preceded in death by her husband; she is survived by her daughters, Marilynn Lane- Hanson, Sun Lakes, Arizona, Barbara Schmoll and husband, Bob, Branson, Missouri; and Kay Stiles, Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; nephew, Hugh Francis Fuller and niece Betty C. Herberger of Carrollton, Missouri; niece by marriage, Betty Jane Flakne and several cousins in Carrollton and Carroll County. Following cremation, memorial services will be a graveside memorial service will be held. Graveside memorial services will be Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Sandra Crater officiating. Family and friends will meet at the grave site. Arrangements by Gibson Funeral Homes, Inc. with the family requesting no flowers.

Durward Noel Scott, age 87, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Friday, October 10, 2003 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.
He was born January 8, 1916 in Carroll County, Missouri, the son of Harrison and Lula May Noel Scott. He attended Shootman Grade School. He was in the United States Army during World War II. He was married to Joyce Thomas. He had been a farmer, was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 of Carrollton, Missouri.
He is survived by one sister, Arvilla Scott, Carrollton, Missouri; three nieces, Connie Harshner, Kansas City, Kansas, Linda Rucker and husband, Robert, Kansas City, Missouri, Shirley Potter, Carrollton, Missouri; two nephews, Gary Scott and wife, Glenda, Carrollton, Missouri, Jerry Rappold and wife, Nancy, Kansas City, Kansas and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Chester Scott and George Scott; one sister, Edith Pearl Rappold and one nephew, Bobby Harshner.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Jansen McNaughten officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, October 12, 2003 from 7-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
