THIES OBITUARY
Eldred Catherine Thies, age 84, of Carrollton, Missouri, died April 27, 1999, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
She was born March 10, 1915, in Norborne, Missouri, the daughter of William and Ann Hofmann Boschert. She attended rural school and graduated from Carrollton High School. She lived in DeWitt during her entire married life.
She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton, and its Altar Society.
On August 20, 1940, she was married to Raymond F. Thies in the St. Mary's Rectory in Carrollton. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1983.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Uldene Hayslett, Kansas City, Missouri; a brother, Delmar Boschert, Overland Park, Kansas; several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great- nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, April 30, 1999, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, DeWitt.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., Friday, at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
The family suggests contributions to the Children's Mercy Hospital or Carrollton H.E.L.P. Services in memory of Mrs. Thies.

LUDWIG OBITUARY
A Carrollton, Mo. Resident, 85 year old, Raymond N. Ludwig, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Raymond was born July 25, 1913 near Wakenda, Mo, the son of B. T. (Tucker) and Nancy Neet Ludwig. He attended grade school in Wakenda and graduated from Carrollton High School, where he and his brother, Lawrence, excelled in football.
The family moved to the Norborne area where he farmed in the Sugartree area until he retired and moved to Carrollton in 1974. He spent three years in the United States Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star.
Raymond was married to Dorothea M. Heins on November 30, 1942 at the home of the bride in Carrollton; she preceded him in death on September 24, 1984.
Raymond was a member of the First Christian Church, Carrollton Mo. And a forty year member of the Carrollton Pence-Lovell-England Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and he had served on the Moss Creek Township Board.
Survivors include a niece, Shirley Schienman, Farmington Connecticut and her family Karen Suponski, Susan Stebbins, Wendy Miller, and Dr. John Schienman, all of Connecticut; and several cousins, Alma Hass and Frances Hass, Raymond, South Dakota and Donna Davis, Aberdeen, South Dakota, and James Wicks, Venita Oklahoma.
Graveside services were conducted by Reverend Joe Barone at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 26, 1999, at the Oak Hill Cemtery, in Carrollton.
The family suggests contributions to the First Christian Church or the Oak Hill Cemetery in memory of Mr. Ludwig. They may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.

GRIFFITH OBITUARY
Karen Kay Griffith, age 53, of DeWitt, Missouri, died April 20, 1999, at the University Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born May 4, 1945, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Woodrow W. and Helen Niermann Hoemann. She attended grade and high school in St. Louis, and received a journalism degree from Missouri University in Columbia.
She had worked at the Carrollton Daily Democrat and P.S. Originals.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she taught in the weekday school. She was also a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid and the Peavine Extension Club, and was a former member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
On August 17, 1968, she was married to Dale Griffith in St. Louis, Missouri. He survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Matthew Griffith and Adam Griffith of the home; a brother, John Hoemann, Austin, Texas; and a sister, Susan McKee, and husband, George, Beaumont, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 24, 1999, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton, conducted by Reverend Eric Swyres. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, DeWitt.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., Friday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions to the Lutheran Hour, the Lutherans for Life, or Immanuel Lutheran Church in memory of Mrs. Griffith.

LINK OBITUARY
Christine S. Link, age 91, formerly of Norborne, Missouri, died April 19, 1999, at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Missouri.
She was born January 13, 1908, in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Fred and Mary Leimkuehler Bruemmer. She attended school in Norborne and worked as a telephone operator.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Altar Society, and was a charter member of the Carrollton Recreation Lake and had been an avid bowler.
On August 5, 1925, she was married to Francis Anthony Link in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. He preceded her in death in December of 1982.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Albus, Carrollton, Missouri, Earlene McLaughlin, Lexington, Missouri, and Veneta Ann Hazelwood, Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was the last of twelve children, having been preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters and her parents.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 23, 1999, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norborne. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Norborne, with the rosary at 8:00 P.M.
The family suggests contributions to the Msgr. Summers Scholarship Fund or the Sacred Heart Church or Cemetery in memory of Mrs. Link. They may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.

ALLEN OBITUARY
Bertha Irene Oberdahlhoff Allen, age 88, of Bosworth, Missouri, died April 15, 1999, at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.
She was born August 30, 1910, in Watongie, Oklahoma, the daughter of Henry Franklin and Cleo Dale Winchester Oberdahlhoff. She attended Brown Grade School and Bosworth High School.
She worked for the F. M. Stamper Co. and then Banquet Foods for several years.
She was a member of the Wakenda Baptist Church.
On November 30, 1929, she was married to Flloyd Lyzell Allen in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1974.
Survivors include a daughter, Eve Mae Elliott, and husband, Allen, Bosworth, Missouri; a son, Delford Allen, and wife, Joyce, Riverton, Wyoming; four grandchildren; eighteen great- grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, April 18, 1999, at the Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Sunday, before service time at Gibson Funeral Home in Bosworth.
The family suggests contributions to the Wharton Cemetery in memory of Mrs. Allen. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, MO, 64633.

HINES OBITUARY
William C. (Tweety) Hines, age 31, of Bosworth, Missouri, died April 12, 1999, at his home.
He was born August 2, 1967, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Vernon Dowell and Edith Mae Dowell Hines. He attended school at Tina-Avalon, where he was active in FFA, track and basketball. He graduated in 1985 and served in the US Navy.
He liked fishing, hunting, and playing Bingo.
On August 19, 1997, he was married to Barbara Jean Crose in El Paso, Texas. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Michael C. Hines and Devan James Hines, and one daughter, Tiffany Lynn Hines, all of LaClede, Missouri; two step-sons, Robert A. Martin, and Benjamin W. Martin, and a step-daughter, Esther R. Groce, all of Bosworth; three brothers, Lester Hines, Melvin Hines and Lee Hines, all of Avalon, Missouri; his mother, Edith Hines, Avalon, Missouri; two sisters, Janice Lapworth, Ludlow, Missouri, and Edith Davis, Avalon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Bosworth.
Cremation. Graveside memorial services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 16, 1999, at the Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri, conducted by Reverend Bruce Trussell.
The family suggests contributions to the Ellis-Fischel Cancer Hospital or Family Choice in memory of Mr. Hines. They may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, Missouri, 64633.

OBITUARY
Claudine E. Whitney, age 94, of Carrollton, Missouri, died April 11, 1999, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.
Mrs. Whitney was born August 22, 1904, in Carrollton, Missouri, the daughter of Claude and Flora Lasser Ballard.
She worked as a sales clerk for the Mattingly's Store for several years. She was a member of the Carrollton First Baptist Church.
She was married to Marvin O. Whitney. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1968.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Florine Parks.
Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, conducted by Reverend Ron Marsh.
Contributions may be given to the Carrollton First Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Whitney.

WILLIS OBITUARY
Billie Gene Willis, age 68, of Waverly, Missouri, died April 10, 1999, at his home.
He was born August 12, 1930, in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of William Alvin and Marie Owens Willis.
He worked at Banquet Foods in Carrollton for 36 years before retiring in 1987. He was a fork lift operator.
He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
On September 27, 1950, he was married to Elizabeth Elmira McBee in Bogard, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 19, 1990.
Survivors include five daughters, Judy Kay Dawkins and husband, Ray, of Missouri City, Missouri, Betty Louise Weidner, and husband, Lloyd of Bogard, Roberta Jean Helm, and husband, Doug, of Bosworth, Missouri, Tina Marie Stephens, and husband, Jamie, of Hale, Missouri, Cheryl Willis of Marshall, Missouri; four sons, Robert Eugene Willis, and wife, Joyce, of Waverly, Michael Ray Willis of Waverly, Mark Allen Willis, and wife, Robin, of Braymer, Missouri, Jeffrey Lynn Willis, and wife, Denise, of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, Thomas Zeke Willis, and friend, Connie Hemrich, of Carrollton, and James Edward Willis, and wife, Earlene, of St. Joseph, Missouri; five sisters, Martha Louise McBroom, and husband, Fred, of Alma, Arkansas, Shirley Ann Clark, and husband, Bob, of Bosworth, Donna Lee Bartlett, of Carrollton, Ruth Aleen Gastineau, and husband, Donald, of Slater, Glenda Marie Elliott of Bosworth; a special friend, Darlene Smith, of Waverly; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, conducted by Reverend Bert Hughes. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. Willis.

FRY OBITUARY
A former Carrollton, Missouri, resident, Robert Gene Fry, age 58, of Belton, Missouri, died April 1, 1999, at the Belton Research Hospital.
He was born July 25, 1940, in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Robert Derald and Glendena Brown Fry. He attended Carrollton Grade and High School, graduating in 1957. He attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. He served in the US Army in Vietnam.
He worked as a deliveryman for ARCO Pipeline for over 28 years, before retiring in 1994.
He was a member of the Carrollton First Christian Church.
On September 15, 1968, he was married to Jeanette Blasche in Pontiac, Illinois. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include a step-son, Mitchell Blasche, Las Vegas, Nevada; a step-daughter, Jodi, and husband, Lynn Friesner, St. Louis, Missouri; his mother, Glendena Fry of Carrollton; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1998 and his grandparents.
Funeal services will be 3:00 P.M., Monday, April 5, 1999, at the Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions to the Ararat Temple Wings of Mercy or the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Fry. They may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, MO 64633

HENSON OBITUARY
Grace Henson, age 95, of Carrollton, Missouri, died April 1, 1999, at the Apple Ridge Care Center in Waverly, Missouri.
She was born March 22, 1904, in Wakenda, Missouri, the daughter of Phillip Edward and Lucy Moore Jones. She attended school in Wakenda and was a Baptist.
She worked at F. M. Stamper Co. for several years.
She was first married to Jack Adkins in 1922. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1938. She then married Carl Wiggins and later Les Henson, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Jack Adkins, Carrollton, Harold Adkins, Norborne, Missouri, Billy Ray Adkins, Carrollton, and Ervin Wiggins, George West, Texas; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Wiggins, a brother, Ralph, and two sisters, May Brotherton and Lou Harris.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Bert Hughes at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 5, 1999, at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton.
Visitation will be from 11:00 to 12:30 on Monday, before service time at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton.
