Ernest Vernon Bell, Jr., age 78, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 15, 2004.
He was born January 14, 1926 in Wakenda, Missouri, the son of Ernest Vernon Bell, Sr. and Ruth Adkins Bell. He attended Walnut Grove School for seven years, then graduated from Wakenda High School in 1944. He joined the Church of Christ Church of Wakenda.
On December 7, 1948, he married Margene "Rosie" Flake. They enjoyed fifty-six years together. He farmed in the Bosworth and Wakenda area for forty-five years. He and Rosie operated Bell's Antiques for twenty years. He moved from the farm after the 1993 flood to Carrollton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margene; sister-in-law Marie Singleton, Falls City, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Virgil Flake, Canon City, Colorado; Ed Pruite, Kansas City, Missouri, Wilbur and Naomi Flake, Independence, Missouri; a special niece and nephew, Wanda and LaMarr Matthes, Falls City, Nebraska; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of close friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, October 18, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri, with Bobby Bell officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation was from 7-8:30 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. Bell. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Donald Ray Swank, age 81, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Carrollton Life Care Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born October 14, 1923, the son of Jesse and Maude Tucker Swank. He attended Austin School. He was in the United States Navy during World War II.
On December 21, 1947, he married Norma Kathleen Wagaman in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Donald farmed nine miles northwest of Carrollton all his married life. He was a Baptist and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri. He was also a member of the Oddfellows.
Donald is survived by three children; Donald Ray Swank, Jr., Ronald Dean Swank and Rebecca Jo Swank Rittenhouse; six grandchildren, Donald Swank, III, William Swank, Eric Swank, Bradley Swank, Emily Swank and Amy Swank Hinton; five great grandchildren, Anthony, Blake, Kelsey, Brienna and Courtney.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at Trotter Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating. There will be a military service by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.

Blanche Lillian Nichols passed away on October 16, 2004, at the Lifecare Center, Carrollton, Missouri. Visitation will be at the Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, MO., 12:30 p.m., October 20 and services will be held following the visitation at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at Big Adkins Cemetery. Blanche Nichols was born on July 24, 1917, Wakenda, Missouri, the daughter of Miles and Clara (Barker) Murphy. She attended Wakenda and Willow Grove Schools. She married Charles Harold Nichols on March 15, 1932, in Miami Station, Mo. She was an avid wrestling fan, enjoyed quilting as a hobby, and had won ribbons for her needle work.
She is survived by a son, Harold Allen Nichols and wife Betty, of the home; two grandsons, Michael Sean Nichols, Camdenton, Missouri, Jeffrey Lyn and wife Meghan Nichols, Kansas City, Missouri; a brother, Lowell Richard Murphy and wife Betty, Bogard, Missouri; brother-in-law, Paul Wesley Smith, Alma, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Dona Murphy, Indianapolis, Indiana, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Hollis Hamilton Murphy, Jewell Ervin Murphy, and three sisters, Lucille Orene Shepard, Stella Beatrice Ballew, and Laverna Mae Smith.

Andrea Lynne Lockard, age 53, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2003 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 6, 1951 at Marceline, Missouri the daughter of Joseph Edgar Lewis, II and lela Reffett Lewis. She graduated from Marceline High School in 1969. Andrea married Clifford Dale Lockard on June 26, 1976 at Brookfield, Missouri. She was a registered nurse and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church at Marceline, Missouri. She is survived by her husband Clifford of the home; two daughters, Megan Lockard and her fiance' Doug Young of Keytesville, Missouri and Jennifer Wilkerson and her husband Drew of Oak Grove, Missouri; a nephew, R. D. Lewis who was raised by Andrea and Clifford; one brother, Joseph Edgar Lewis, III of Kansas City, Missouri; her father and mother-in-law, Richard and Hazel Moore of Salisbury, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Linda Morrison and her husband Bill of Salisbury, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Mickey Wilkerson, Jordon Hubbard, Daniel Hubbard, Jr. and Autumn Young. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Roy David Lewis, one sister, Donna Lee O'Keefe and one grandson, Tommy Dale Hubbard. Memorial services will be Saturday, October 23, 2004 at New Hope Baptist Church, Marceline, Missouri at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Rich Wills officiating. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Cremation arrangements were by Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri.

Dean Howard Smutz, age 72, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the Brunswick Nursing Center, Brunswick, Missouri. He was born October 6, 1932, in Brunswick, Missouri, the son of Layton Ray and Jessie Howard Smutz. Mr. Smutz worked as a farm hand and was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Friday, October 22, 2004 at 1:30 p.m., at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend Phyllis Anderson officiating. Burial was in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. Memorial contributions have been suggested for the Brunswick United Methodist Church.

Etta Frances Morris, age 86, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 22, 2004 at Fitzgibbon Hospital, Marshall, Missouri. She was born November 5, 1917, in Salisbury, Missouri, the daughter of John S. and Nadine V. Starks McAdams. She was baptized when she was fourteen years old and joined the Second Baptist Church. She was married to Cecil Charles Morris on March 4, 1918 at Salisbury, Missouri by Reverend J. C. Chyna. Cecil preceded her in death on September 2, 1983. Etta had been a housewife and a loving mother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, Missouri. She is survived by two sons, Cecil M. Morris of University City, Missouri and John F. Morris of Columbia, Missouri; one step-son, Charles L. Morris of Las Vegas, Nevada; one grandson, Jamie Morris; one sister, Gwendolyn Ford of Chicago, Illinois; one brother; John Sheridan, Jr. of Tacoma, Washington, and several step-grandchildren. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend Marjorie Casson officiating. Cremation.

Elsie Belle Hawkins, age 89, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2004 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital. Elsie Belle was born June 27, 1915, in Carroll County, Missouri, the daughter of Phillip Edward and Bessie Hull Dorner. She attended Hood Grade School and graduated from Bogard High School. On August 25, 1937, she married R. Marvin Hawkins at the Methodist Parsonage in Bogard, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 24, 1995. Elsie Belle was a member of the United Methodist Church, Carrollton, Missouri; a fifty year member of the Order of The Eastern Star, the Carrollton Forum Club, The Tarara Club, received a 60 year award for extension work, and served 15 years as a 4-H leader. Survivors include one son, David Gene Hawkins and his wife, JoAnn, Lewistown, Missouri; one daughter, Janice Martin, Carrollton, Missouri; one brother, Merle Dorner, Bogard, Missouri; two sisters, Grace Brasher, Kansas City, Missouri and Mildred Koontz, Norborne, Missouri; two grandsons, Gregory and his wife, Rhonda, Atlantic, Iowa, and Mark and his wife, Lynnda, Richmond, Missouri; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Paul, and her son-in-law, Bob Martin. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Sandra Crater officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri. Elvin Hanby, age 95, Carrollton, Missouri; formerly of Morgan County, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Carrollton Life Care Center, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born January 6, 1909 in Morgan County, the son of Jasper and Feefie Bowen Hanby. Mr. Hanby was never married and followed the occupation of farming.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Gibson Funeral Home.

Herbert Anthony Albrecht, age 91, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born September 20, 1913 in Norborne, Missouri, the son of Frank and Wilhelmina J. Schorer Albrecht. He attended a country school near Norborne.
On July 8, 1939, he married Eugenia M. Brooks at Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home. Herb was a farmer from 1935 until 1964 and had worked at Banquet Foods from 1964 to 1975. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri.
In addition to his wife, Eugenia, he is also survived by three children; Wayne Albrecht and his wife Shelly, Carrollton, Missouri, Nancy Albrecht McKinney and her husband Larry, Independence, Missouri, Jim Albrecht and his wife Debbie, Carrollton, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Albrecht, Carrollton, Missouri; one sister, Evaline Giles, Carrollton, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Michael Todd McKinney and Julia Hicks, Eric Lynn and Gina McKinney, Liza and Tim O'Neal, Anthony and Debbie Albrecht, Jennifer and John Goedeke, Richard Albrecht, Candace Parks, Tom Albrecht, Jeff Walden and Jean Ann Walden; twelve great grandchildren, Levi O'Neal, Shane Manton, Penny Hicks, Megan O'Neal, Amber McKinney, Bailee Pummil, Alexandria Manton, Tallyn McKinney, Shayln Manton, Nikki Goedeke, Seth Goedeke, Cody Albrecht, Ashley Albrecht and Caitlin Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 1:00 p.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12-12:45 p.m., at the church on Saturday with a Rosary at 12:45.

Bryan Edward Fitzpatrick, age 34, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 29, 2004 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was born January 5, 1970, in Cass County, Missouri, the son of Thomas and Vickie Thomas Fitzpatrick. His great aunt Mary Fischer in Carrollton, Missouri raised him. He graduated from Carrollton High School. He was an insulator and worked for Alta Refrigeration.
On June 27, 1998, he married Dekala Darlene Standley in Carrollton, Missouri. She survives at the home.
Bryan is also survived by three children; Bryce Edward and Gage Thomas Fitzpatrick, Carrollton, Missouri, and Johlina Clause, Parkville, Missouri; his mother, Vickie Thomas; one sister, Beckie King, Kansas City, Missouri; his mother and father-in-law, Warren and Dottie Standley, Carrollton, Missouri; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Wanda and Shalon Terryberry, Linda and Kevin Tharnish; one brother-in-law and his wife, Bo and Tammy Standley; two aunts, Sammy Johnson and Lee Groves; nieces and nephews, Sierra King, Jessica and Brandon Standley and Abby and Michael Tharnish.
His father, one brother, Tommy Fitzpatrick, his great aunt, Mary Fischer, and his maternal grandparents, Minnie and Louis Thomas, preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 1:30 p.m., at Big Adkins Cemetery, near Wakenda, Missouri, with Reverend Bert Hughes officiating.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
