Dale Daugherity, age 74, of Sumner, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at the V. A. Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri. He was born July 14, 1930 in Sumner, Missouri, the son of John and Nina M. Downey Daugherity. He was in the United States Navy. He was an automobile mechanic. He is survived by a cousin, David Lentz, Sumner, Missouri. Mr. Daugherity was cremated.

Megan Marie Bell, age 16, of Bosworth, Missouri passed away Friday, December 31, 2004, near Bosworth, Missouri.
She was born March 9, 1988 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of Steven Aaron and Joyce Jean Ireland Bell. She attended Bosworth High School where she was a member of the Junior class. She was a member of the Bosworth and Chillicothe Chapter of FCCLA, serving as the Vice President; she was nominated for Homecoming Queen; was active in basketball, softball, and band and was a cheerleader. She also attended Chillicothe Vo-Tech School. She was a member of the Bosworth Baptist Church.
Megan is survived by her father, Steve Bell; two brothers, Aaron Bell and wife Megan, and their daughter, Emily Kristine Bell, Bosworth, Missouri, Nickolas Bell and fiance', Karmen Painter, Bosworth, Missouri; grandparents, Donald and Betty Ireland and Bonnie and Al Richards, all of Bosworth, Missouri; aunts and uncles, Donna and Mike Forest, Bosworth, Missouri, Donnie and Kim Ireland, Mound City, Missouri, Jackie Bell and Sarah, Wichita, Kansas, John Bell, Bosworth, Missouri and Bill Bell and Shelly, Bosworth, Missouri; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Bell, and her paternal grandfather, Jackie Dale Bell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Bosworth High School, Bosworth, Missouri, with Reverend Bruce Trussell officiating. Burial will be in Big Creek Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 12:00-1:30 p.m., on Monday before the service at the school.

Louise A. Waller, age 74, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in Dayton, Ohio. Whe was born October 10, 1930. Burial was held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. Arrangements were handled by Baker, Hazel & Snider Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio and Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri.

Ora M. O'Dell, age 95, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Missouri.
She was born October 25, 1909 in Richmond, Missouri, the daughter of Olan and Rosetta Simmons Hess. She attended Rockingham Grade and High School.
On September 12, 1928 she married Lewis O'Dell in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1989. To this union two sons were born, Gene and Robert Lewis O'Dell. In 1942 she and Lewis moved to the Roads Community where she remained until her death. Ora was a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church and the Roads Home Makers.
Ora is survived by one son, Gene O'Dell and wife Thresa, Norborne, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert (Jackie) O'Dell, Holt, Missouri; two sisters, Bertha O'Dell, Richmond, Missouri, Betty Stoffie, Fall Brook, California; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Ora was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Robert Lewis O'Dell, one sister, Ruby McMullin; three brothers, Clarence, Albert, Olan Hess, Jr.; and one great grandson, Landon Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Union Baptist Church, Stet, Missouri, with Reverend Lee Borders officiating. Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
Ora will lay in state from 1:30-7:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri.

James Richard DeVore, age 68, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born August 23, 1936 in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of George A. and Bertha May Buckner DeVore. He graduated from Osawatomie Kansas High School.
On October 13, 1963, he was married to Marie I. Couture in Osawatomie, Kansas. She survives at the home.
He was in the United States Army from 1959 to 1964 and was stationed in Ft. Riley, Kansas. In 1968 he entered the United States Air Force and was stationed at Richards- Gebauer Air Force Base, near Kansas City, Missouri and retired from the Kansas National Guard in 1978. During his tours in all of the armed services, he had worked in Food Services. He had worked for the Department of Defense and had been a volunteer deputy in Cass County. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
James is also survived by five children, George DeVore, Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, Melodie Ann DeVore, Siloam Springs, Arkansas, James Daniel DeVore, Johnathan Richard DeVore and Jenny Corrine DeVore, all of Carrollton, Missouri; one brother, Guy DeVore, Sedalia, Missouri; two sisters, Adella Thatcher, Sedalia, Missouri and Sarah Horton, Goodman, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, Michael DeVore, Alex Fuller, David Fuller, Keziah DeVore, Jayson and Issac DeVore, Jessica Yung, Darren DeVore, Michael Smiley, Dakota DeVore, David Yung and Athena DeVore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Paul DeVore.
Military Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. Reverend Ken Prewitt will officiate.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Georgia Lucilla Hayden Spence, age 85, of Brookfield, Missouri and formerly of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the Life Care Center, Brookfield, Missouri. She was born on June 20, 1919 in Madison, Missouri the daughter of Phillip O. and Thelma Elizabeth Todd Hayden. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School and had attended one year of college at Central Methodist College. She was married to Roy Lee Spence on July 4, 1955 in the Lutheran Church at Brunswick, Missouri. Roy Lee preceded her in death on April 7, 1997. She had been a beautician and an avid horsewoman. She was a past Democrat Committeewoman and had been a member of the Arrowhead Saddle Club and the P.E.O. at Brunswick, Missouri. She is survived by nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m., at the Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri with Reverend Kenneth Tounzen officiating. Mary E. Myers passed away at Carroll County Memorial Hospital after a short illness on January 9, 2005. She was born in Carrollton, Missouri on December 21, 1921.
She was married to Merrill Myers on May 23, 1939 at Carrollton, Missouri. To this union were born five children, Charles A. of Macungie, Pennsylvania, Robert of Buffalo, Missouri, Marion of Concord, North Carolina, Elizabeth of Bosworth and Nancy dying in infancy.
In addition to these, she is survived by one sister, Thyra Hersberger of Colorado, two nieces and four nephews, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren and a host of friends.
Her parents and one brother, Morris, preceded her in death.
While she was able, she attended the Bosworth Christian Church regularly, the Bosworthians and the Rockford Club. She was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Gibson Funeral Home, Bosworth, Missouri, with Reverend Gail Brown officiating. Internment will be in Union Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, January 10, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Bosworth, Missouri.

Maurice Edward Burger, age 77, of Rockledge, Florida and formerly of Carrollton, Missouri, went home to the Lord Sunday, January 9, 2005 at Rockledge, Florida. He was born on May 6, 1927 in Carrollton, Missouri, the son of Carl and Clara Koch Burger. They lived on the family farm six miles north of town. He went to grade school in Carroll County and then graduated from Carrollton High School in 1945. Right after high school, he farmed south of Carrollton in the Bowdry area. On June 6, 1948, he married Margaret Ann Lueders at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carrollton. They lived south of town four miles; their main house where they lived most of their married life was built in 1956. They were blessed with a wonderful marriage and four children; Mark, Mike, Pamela and Tim. During this time, Maurice was very involved in Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving at various times most positions in the church, including Church Council, ushering, Sunday School teaching, much involvement in the Lutheran Laymen's League, and District meetings. Also, in the community he was a member of the Kiwanis Club, worked for many blood drives and was a DeKalb seed representative. In 1986, they moved to Walnut Hills in Carrollton and was still active in farming. He loved to maintain his yard and garden areas. In 2001, Maurice and Margaret Ann moved to Rockledge, Florida to be near their daughter. They were planning on returning home to Carrollton when the Lord called him home eternally. Maurice is predeceased by his parents and two sisters: Martina and Francis. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Margaret Ann; sons Mark and wife Diane, Kirksville, Missouri, Mike and wife Jackie, Carrollton, Missouri, Tim Burger, Carrollton, Missouri and Pamela Meyr and husband Ron, Rockledge, Florida. He is also survived by one sister, Elsie, of Herman, Missouri and eleven grandchildren in various parts of the country. Christian burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Carrollton, Missouri with Pastor Eric Swyres officiating, at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2005. A reception will follow immediately in the Fellowship Hall. Viewing will be for one hour before the services at the church and a private committal will be held later at Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri. James F. Stirling, age 77, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 10, 2005 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
He was born February 1, 1927 in Pueblo, Colorado, the son of Floyd and Bertha Robinson Stirling. James' family moved to Bedford, Missouri one year later and then to a farm in rural Fountain Grove. His family then moved to Brookfield, Missouri where he attended second grade through high school. In high school, James played football where he won the last McLareny Trophy for the most outstanding football and scholastic achievement and made all conference. He joined the United States Navy during World War II in January of 1945. He was in charge of the Navy recruits in the San Diego, California Training Center. He served at Camp Elliott, San Diego, California, was Master of Arms, Ship Company, in Treasure Island, San Francisco, California. He was honorably discharged in August of 1946. After the death of his mother, his father married Bertha Stirling and they were married for twenty-six years.
James built the first drive-in restaurant, The Bull Dog Inn, with curb girls, at the age of 19 and operated it for eleven years. He married Cecil Mae Donahue on September 19, 1947. During this time, He started with the Prudential Insurance Company for two and one half years in Brookfield. He moved his family to Carrollton, Missouri in January of 1961 to work for State Farm Insurance Company. He became President of North Central Underwriters, belonged to Kiwanis Club for twenty-seven years and retired from State Farm on April 30, 1988.
James is survived by his second wife, Willadean Sergeant Stirling; two children, Linda Stirling Cathcart and husband Bill, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Tom Stirling and wife Laura, Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two step children; ten grandchildren; six step grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, his first wife, Cecil Mae, on July 4, 1996; and one son, James T. Stirling in 1992.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2005 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carrollton, Missouri, with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Military Graveside Services will be at St. Michael's Cemetery, Brookfield, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.

Floyd Lee Gregg, age 99, of Bogard, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2005 at Carrollton Life Care Center.
He was born January 15, 1905 in Plymouth, Missouri, the son of Dee William and Fannie Esther Decker Gregg. He would have celebrated one hundred years this Saturday. He attended Mandeville Grade School. He was in the United States Navy.
On December 12, 1931, Floyd was married to Marie Marple in Carrollton, Missouri, by Reverend Clarence L. Dorris. She survives at the home.
Floyd was a farmer and had worked for M. M. Green Quarries as a dozer operator. He was an avid pitch player, hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Mandeville Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 of Carrollton.
In addition to his wife, Marie, Floyd is survived by eleven children; William D. Gregg and wife Martha, Carrollton, Missouri, Anna Lee Bahr and husband Fred, Carrollton, Missouri, Shirley Edwards and husband Leonard, McPherson, Kansas, Wade Gregg and wife Janice, Barnard, Kansas, Arnold Gregg and wife Judy, Bosworth, Missouri, Bobby Gregg and wife Janie, Bogard, Missouri, Jackie Gregg and wife Gayle, Carrollton, Missouri, Russell Gregg and wife Dianne, Oak Grove, Missouri, Sally Hanavan and husband John, New Castle, Indiana, Dorothy Allnutt and husband Randall, Trenton, Missouri, Esther Gregg, Carrollton, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Leta Watts, Effie May Gregg, Daisy Heinlein; two brothers, Lloyd D. Gregg and Gilbert Gregg; and one granddaughter, Tamara Faye Gregg.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating. Military graveside services will be at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bogard, Missouri by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2005 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri.
