Pearly Walton

Pearly Joan Dowdy Walton, 61, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Oct. 14, 1940, in Malden, daughter of and Matilda Anna Jones Dowdy of Malden and the late David Ray Dowdy, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Church in Malden.

She first married Arthur Emily, who preceded her in death. On Dec. 25, 1941, at Kennett, she married Walter Edward Walton, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include, one daughter, Rose Lawson of St. Louis, Mo.; three sons, Audie Emily of Potosi, Mo., David Emily and his wife, Gloria, of Fisk, Mo. and James Emily and his wife, Chris, of Dexter, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Tina Emily, Brian Emily, Emily Lawson, Brian Mitchell and his wife, Tina, Corey Mitchell and his wife, Shelly, Stephanie Boschenreither and her husband, Kevin, Heather Hartman and her husband, Kenneth, Daniel Wayne Casten and Davie Wade Casten; 11 great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Emily, Jacob Mitchell, Cameron Boschenreither, Donovan Boschenreither, Caleb Boschenreither, Allison Taylor, Clayton Mitchell, Ashleigh Hartman, Savannah Hartman and Lucas Hartman.

She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Emily, Jr., a granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Johnson and a great-grandson, Dewayne Mitchell.

Visitation is today, Friday, Oct. 26, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Landess Chapel with the Rev. Herschel Godair officiating.

Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemtery in Malden.

Billy Lyell

Billy Carlton Franklyn Lyell died Friday, Oct. 6, 2001 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

The stillborn son of Richard and Carla Clevenger Lyell of Kennett, he is survived by a brother, Nicholas Lyell and three sisters, Kendra, Natasha and Heather Lyell of Kennett; grandparents, Dainta Clevenger of Kennett, Sharon and Frank Olkoski of Herrin, Ill. and great-grandparents Edna Mills of Kennett, Joann Frost of Herrin, Ill., Bob Lyell of Johnson City, Ill. and Edith Clevenger of Mt. Vernon, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Bill Clevenger and great-grandparents Carl Mills, Charles Frost and Delmer Clevenger.

Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating and under direction of McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett.

Alma Pridemore

Alma Lorene Pridemore, 81, of Steele, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville, Ark.

Born Nov. 21, 1919, in Malden, Mo., daughter of the late Charles Monroe and Ollie May Hampton Beck, she was affiliated with Stanfield General Baptist Church at Gideon, Mo.

On Dec. 5, 1938, in Gideon, she married Johnnie Ray Pridemore who preceded her in death July 21, 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Hicks and her husband, Jerry, of Steele; a son, Michael Pridemore of Steele; a granddaughter, Jeri Ann Gleason and her husband, Doug, of Steele and a great-grandson, Caleb Matthew Gleason of Steele.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Emery Lee, Elmer Ethridge, Luther Hadley and Louis Rexford Beck and three sisters, Lou Ettie and Lily May Beck and Geneieve Lois Harmon.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 28, in Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Gideon with the Rev. Sam Book officiating.

Burial will be in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.

Barbara Thompson

Barbara Sue Thompson, 70, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 16, 1931, in Campbell, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson and Hester Mary Smith Thompson, she retired from Emerson Electric.

Survivors include one brother, Windel Thompson and his wife, Billie Jean, of Campbell; two nephews, Ray Thompson of Campbell and Dennis Thompson of Carlisle Barracks, Penn.; a great-nephew, Joey Thompson of Campbell and a great-niece, Mandy Thompson of Campbell.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Howard Thompson and Geary Dean Thompson.

No services are planned.

Dorothy Coleman

Dorothy Coleman, 66, of Holcomb, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Born Dec. 15, 1934, in Paulding, Mo., daughter of the late Lee Roy and Rosa Neil Hamlett, she was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church in Holcomb.

On Oct. 16, 1951, she married Edgar B. Magouirk, who preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1965. She later married Bill Coleman, on Nov. 25, 1977 and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1983.

Survivors include one son, Terry Magouirk and wife, Sherry, of McDougal, Ark.; two step-sons, Gary Wayne Coleman, of Campbell, Mo. and Eugene Coleman, of Piggott; two daughters, Sheila Whaley and Nancy Privett, and husband, Rodger, all of Holcomb; four step-daughters, Mary Ruth Riney, of Malden, Mo., Shirley Roden and Billie Ann Swift, both of Campbell and Janet McElwrath, of Kennett; one brother, Carlon Hamlett, of Holcomb; one sister, Jonell Shirley, of Clarkton, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Roni Whaley, Joey and Barry Privett, Ashley and Terry Lee Magouirk, Dena Hickson and Jessica Reimund; 12 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, Eual, Hughie, Deward, Joe Bob, Robert and Billy Wayne Hamlett and two sisters, Beulah Hamlett and Mary Burgess.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating.

Burial was in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.

Pallbearers were Tootle McCallister, Jack Burgess, Steve Wright, Steve McCallister, Kevin Evans and Wallie Sams.

Olean Dean

Olean Stone Dean, 89, of Paragould, Ark., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.

Born Feb. 1, 1912, in Tennessee, daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Stone, she was a homemaker and a member of the Hornersville Baptist Church.

She married Hursel Dean who preceded her in death on March 8, 1979.

Survivors include one granddaughter, Diane Simons, of Paragould; one great grandson, Gary Lynn Simons, of Paragould; one sister, Mildred Chambers, of Hartford, Mich. and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Gaylon Dean.

Graveside services were at 3 p.m. today, Oct. 30, at the Horner cemetery in Hornersville with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.

Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of arrangements.

Vera Dorris

Vera Dorris, 84, of Rector, Ark., died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001, at Rector.

Born March 9, 1917, in Marmaduke, Ark., daughter of the late Charles and Arpie Reynolds, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Gaylon Dorris, of Rector; two grandchildren, Dena Green and husband, Amos, of Malden, Mo. and Tammy Johnson and husband, Dale of Piggott., Ark. and six grandchildren, Daniel, Kevin and Kalon Johnson, all of Piggott and Amanda, Derek and Jade Green, all of Malden, Mo.

She was preceded in death by one brother, William Reynolds and two sisters, Gladys Yancy and Eithel Nelson.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector with Bro. Jimmy Parrish officiating.

Burial was in the Purcell cemetery at Rector.

David Ivy

David Keith Ivy, 38, of Kennett, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Funeral arrangements are incomlete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett. Vadie Joiner Vadie Joiner, 79, of Campbell, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Three Rivers HealthCare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born Jan. 3, 1922, in Dyersburg, Tenn., daughter of the late Jessee and Ona Pate Hallum, she was of the Baptist faith.

She married Floyd Joiner at Blytheville, Ark., who preceded her in death in March 1966.

Survivors include one son, Bob Hallum, of Holcomb, Mo.; five daughters, Sue Nelson, of Poplar Bluff, Shirley Rucker, Christine Blagg and Debbie Purkey, all of Sikeston, Mo. and Diane Palmer, of Alabama; two brothers, Tom Hallum, of Dyersburg and James Hallum, of California; one sister, Betty Hallum, of Paris, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jimmy and Jerry Joiner; one daughter, Vickie Ogden; two sisters, Sadie Kalwick and Trubie Collins and one brother, Curtis "Bud" Hallum.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Mary Killingsworth

Mary Killingsworth, 86, of Kennett, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Billy Lyell

Billy Carlton Franklyn Lyell died Friday, October 26, 2001 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Vernon, Mo.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Bill Clevenger and great-grandparents Carl Mills, Charles Frost and Delmer Clevenger.

Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating and under direction of McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett.

Luther Morgan

Luther Monroe Morgan, 71, of Campbell, Mo., died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born July 3, 1930, in Malden, Mo., son of Florence Powers Morgan, of Campbell and the late Ira Andrew Morgan, he was a U.S. Marine veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, retired from the Kansas City's Meat Packing Co. and a member of the Calvary Call Church in Campbell.

On July 8, 2000, in Campbell, he married Emma Pauline Crane, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include, two daughters, Melinda Creason and Lucinda Morgan, both of Kansas City, Kan.; one grandson, Joshua Creason, of Kansas City; six step-daughters, Carol Lewis, of Malden, Mo., Jeannie Cook, of Chillicothe, Ohio, Josephine Crane, of Arizona, Beverly Parven, of Georgia and Sherry Dorsey and Lavonna Cato, both of Campbell; two step-sons, Charles Crane, of Millington, Mich. and Luther Crane, of Campbell; 23 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Luther Crane officiating.

Burial will follow at the Stanfield cemetery in Clarkton.
