Vivian Crossno

Vivian Winifred Crossno, 80, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.

Born July 31, 1921, in Childress, Ark., she was the daughter of the late William and Minnie Jones Boyd.

On May, 1941, she married Jesse Crossno, who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1977. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn Crossno; four brothers, Willie Dee, Eudail, Glen, and David Boyd and two sisters, Virginia Todd and Kittie Wayne Cantania.

Survivors include one daughter, Margie Crossno, of Paragould and three sons, Larry Crossno and wife, Brenda, of Michigan City, Ind., Skip Crossno and wife, Sue, of Senath and Bo Crossno, of Paragould.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Rev. Terry Songer officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu cemetery at Senath.

Pallbearers were Robert George, Chad and Jason Crossno, Todd Roscoe, Jeff Crossno, Lanz Loyd, Brian Crossno, Richard Elks and Mark Devero.

Caleb Davis Jr.

Caleb Livingston Davis Jr., 84, of Braggadocio, Mo., died Friday, March 15, 2002, at his residence.

Born Dec. 17, 1917, in Campbell, Mo., son of the late Caleb Sr. and Mary Lucretia Bristol Davis, he was a farmer, a 32nd Degree mason, shriner and a member of the Braggadocio Baptist Church.

On Sept. 12, 1940, in Caruthersville, Mo., he married Marian Alberta Faris, who survivies of the home.

Surviviors also include two sons, Caleb L. III, and Charles A. Davis, both of Braggadocio; one daughter, Amy Jill Davis Boone, of Braggadocio and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at the Maple cemetery with Rev. Bill Luttrell officiating.

Honorary pallbearers were Jake Fisher, Russell Gilmore, Douglas Bowling, Johnny Dalton, Gary Coppage and Harold Treasure.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of the arrangements.

John Higgins Sr.

John Emmett Higgins Sr., 69, of West Helena, Ark., died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at the Methodist North Hosptial in Memphis, Tenn.

Born July 22, 1932, in Coaldale, Ark., son of the late Dorris and Gladys Blevins Higgins, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War, a salesman and a member of the Grace Methodist Church.

On Feb. 15, 1959, at Malden, Mo., he married Barbars Joann Crittendon, who preceded him in death on June 22, 2000. On Sept. 21, 2001, in Hot Springs, Ark. He later married Kathleen Adams Higgins, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Martin Harold Higgins and wife, Cindy, of DeSoto, Mo., and John E. Higgins and wife, Lori, of Kennett; one daughter, Tanya Robinson and husband, Paul, of Bethallto, Ill.; four step sons, Ted Johnston and wife, Janie, of Bates, Ark., Carl Johnston and wife Shelia, Kenny Johnston and wife, Kathy and Terry Johnston and wife ,Cheryl, all of Waldron, Ark.; two step-daughters, Debbie Johnston, of Waldron, and Diana Hattabaugh and husband, Jerald, of Mansfield, Ark.; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Piggott cemetery at Piggott, Ark.

Harrison Hostler

Harrison H. Hostler, 54, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, at the Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.

Born Oct. 15, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late William and Mary I. Lewis Hostler, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and the manager of the Consolidated Public Water District.

On Aug. 9, 1973, in St. Louis, he married Rita F. Gatewood, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Junior H. Hostler, of Caruthersville; three daughters, Carrie and Kali Hostler, both of Caruthersville and Tabitha Meeks, of St. Louis; two brothers, Gilbert Victor Hostler, of Florence, Ariz. and H. Glen Woodruff, of St. Louis; two sisters, Sharon Martinez, of Logan, Utah, and Yolanda Greene, of Port Richey, Fla. and three grandchildren, Dalton Hostler, Kelsi Johnson and Kaitlin Guy, all of Caruthersville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Stephen McFadden officiating.

Burial was in the Maple cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bobby Powell, Danny Stevens, Dale Waldren, Robert Heathcock, Robert Drumwright and Larry Patterson.

Blanch Jones

Blanch Jones, 78, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo.

Born April 23, 1923, in Leachville, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Turner and Golda Baughn McGlawn.

On Dec. 31, 1938, she married Willie Jones, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon, Hershal, S.T. and Jerrell McGlawn and one sister, Bernice Davidson.

Survivors include three sons, Billy Jones and wife, Virginia, of Hardy, Ark., Bobby Jones and wife, Mavis, of Senath and Terry Jones and wife, Linda, of Granite City, Ill.; one brother, Marion McGlawn, of Granite City; three step-brothers, J.C., Junior and Donald Taylor; one step-sister, Gladys Faulkner, of Senath; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Revs. Denny Brown and Albert Camp officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu cemetery in Senath.

Pallbearers were Alan, Gary, Eric and Tim Jones, Jonathan Lohman, Stuart Worrell and Corey Keating.

Honorary pallbearers were Tim Forrest and Junior Vaughn.

Lloyd Martin Sr.

Lloyd E. Martin Sr., 81, of West Memphis, Ark., died Saturday, March 16, at the Methodist Central Hospital.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII, a member of VFW American Legion, chamber of commerce and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in West Memphis. He was a retired manager of 34 years at Bartons Lumber Company in West Memphis.

Survivors include his wife, Alpha Martin, of West Memphis; one daughter, Patsy L. Carson, of Independence, Miss.; two sons, Jimmie D. Martin, of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Lloyd E. Martin Jr., of Jonesboro, Ark.; one sister, Rosemary Miller, of Kennett; one brother, Ralph Martin, of Kennett; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 19, at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in West Memphis, Ark.

Kenneth Parr

Kenneth "Doc" Parr, 78, of Blytheville, Ark., died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Born March 11, 1924, in Kennett, son of the late Zack and Flora Pearl Churchwell Parr, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.

On April 1, 1999, he married Bobbie Webster, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include three sons, Gary, Ken and Rick Parr, all of St. Louis; three step-sons, James A., Jimmy Wayne and Robert Wesley Hall, all of Blytheville, Ark.; two brothers, Bud Parr, of Kennett and Gary Parr, of Memphis; one sister, Mattie Lee McGhee, of Kennett and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Zack Parr and Louie Cordell officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Darrell Moody, Tony and Marco Parr, Nick Brock, Bradley Floyd and Robert Parrish.

B.F. Wilson

B.F. "Jack" Wilson, 65, of Malden, Mo., died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born July 9, 1936, in New Kensington, Penn., son of the late Bernard Forrest Sr. and Zelda Mae Colwell Wilson, he was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired aerospace technical illustrator, employed at the Malden Pawn Shop and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was a member of the Yucaipa Christian Church in California.

On Feb. 28, 1961, in Montrose, Calif., he married Bonnie L. Greenway, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include three daughters, Tammy Cole, of Malden, Shelia Curry and husband, Hal, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Cindy Krombeck and husband, Wayne, of Calimesa, Calif.; one son, Jeffrey Wilson and wife, Karen, of Atlanta, Ga. and seven grandchildren, Andrea and Corey Hodges, Aaron and Rachel Curry, Jarrod Cole and Anna Leigh and Michael Forrest Wilson.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Yvonne E. Wilson and mother-in-law, Viola Whitlatch.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 19, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with Rev. Dick Murray officiating.

Burial was in the Rosewood 1st Addition cemetery at Malden.

Gertie Clifton

Gertie Elizabeth Ann Clifton, 93, of Wardell, Mo., died Monday, March 18, 2002, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 20, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home in Wardell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at the the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel l with Mr. Laddie Owens officiating.

Burial will follow at the Portageville cemetery in Portageville, Mo.

Madeline Cooper

Madeline Cooper, 81, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with Landess Funeral Home of Malden.

Cecil Smith

Cecil A. Smith, 70, of Muncie, Ind., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, atthe Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Born in Hornersville, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean conflict, employed at New Venture Gear and a member of the Avondale Sympathy Club.

Surviviors include his wife, Jean Smith; one son, Keith Gulley and wife, Kelly; two daughters, Dena Jae Butler and husband, Stephen and Celia Ann McKellips and husband, David; two sisters, Elsie Carter and husband, Kenneth and Mary Morrison; two granddaughters, Heather Diane Dobbs and Tiana Lee McPhail; one grandson, Kaleb Lue Gulley and two great-grandchildren.

Sevices will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Garden View Funeral Home in Muncie.

Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory cemetery.
