Oberlon Isbell

Oberlon Isbell, 90, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 10, 1911, in Yuma, Tenn., daughter of the late Dolphus Monroe and Nolie King Holmes, she was a homemaker and a member of the Campbell General Baptist Church.

On May 26, 1928, in Piggott, Ark., she married Melvin Charles Isbell, who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1980. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Isbell; one grandson, Melvin Kent Isbell; two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Campbell, of Kennett and Dixie Hogan and husband, Delmar, of Campbell; two sons, O.L. Isbell and wife, Kay, of Ozark, Mo. and Jim Isbell and wife, Debbie, of Williamsville, Mo.; two brothers, L.D. Holmes, of Hemet, Calif. and Joy Wayne Holmes, of Senath, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Earl D. Dell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Gary Medlin

Gary Wayne Medlin, 42, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at his residence.

Born Dec. 19, 1958, in Kennett, son of Bob and Maxine Williams Medlin, of Malden, he was a carpenter.

Survivors also include one son, Christopher Medlin, of Kennett; two brothers, Jim Medlin and wife, Jan, of St. Peters, Mo. and Larry Medlin and wife, Kim, of Malden; three nephews, Jimmy, Derek and Justin Medlin and one niece, Allison Medlin.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rosewood cemetery-1st Addition in Malden.

Donnie Morris

Donnie Gene Morris, 48, of Cameron, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Cameron.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Theresa Ivy officiating.

Burial will follow at the Gregory cemetery in Kennett.

Brenda Smith

Brenda Smith, 57, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Providence Baptist Church in Kennett with the Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating.

Burial will follow at the Senath cemetery.

Ella Usrey

Ella Usrey, 85, of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at National HealthCare in Kennett.

Born Feb. 24, 1916, in Senath, Mo., daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mary Cowgill Cross, she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Kennett.

On Jan. 13, 1931, she married Walter Usrey, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shelby Jean Usrey; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include four sons, Billy Wayne Usrey, of Hayti, Mo., Walter Ray Usrey, of Turrell, Ark., Jerry James Usrey, of Rockford, Ill. and Larry David Usrey, of Kennett; three daughters, Rosalee Brooks and Betty Bruton, both of Kennett and Rita Mae Reed, of Eagle Lake, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grendchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Kennett with Revs. Carroll and Eric McGruder and Stephen Reed officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were James and Kenny Reed and Jeffrey, Bryan, Jerry James and Earl Wayne Usrey.

The grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.

Donnie Morris

Donnie Gene Morris, 48, of Cameron, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Cameron.

Born Aug. 18, 1953, in Kennett, he was the son of Jeanie Craig Morris Sharp, of Kennett and the late D.W. Morris.

He married Sherry Lynn Corbert, who preceded in death. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Morris.

Survivors include four daughters, Katrina Lynn Morris, of Muncie, Ind., Jennifer Morris and Karen Letson, both of Paragould, Ark. and Misty Dawn Morris, of Wardell, Mo.; his step-father, Steve Sharp, of Kennett; three brothers, Gary Dewayne Morris, of Malden, Mo., Jerry Dale Morris, of Paragould and Michael Keith Morris, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; three sisters, Debbie Brown, Donna Thompson and Karen Haugen, all of Kennett; five step-sisters, Stacey Sharp, Sherry Cannon, Sarah Dowdy, Samantha Duncan and Tina Phillips, all of Paragould and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Minister Theresa Ivy officiating.

Burial was in the Gregory cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Jason, Johnathan, Josh and Philip Morris, Donnie Edwards and Duane Haugen.

Pearline Craion

Pearline Craion, 69, of Hayti, Mo. died Dec. 14, 2001, in Memphis, Tenn.

Born May 15, 1932, in Keiser, Ark., daughter of the late Roman and Annie Lue Perkins Williams, she was a member of the North Sixth Church of God in Christ in Hayti.

Survivors include four daughters, Geraldine Growley of Milwaukee, Wisc., Luereather Cooper of Kennett; LaVerne Moore of Hayti and Sharon Ficken of Columbia, Mo.; four sons, Michael Joe Craion of Kansas City, Mo., Marvin Craig Craion, Dennis Wayne Craion and Haywood Quincy Craion all of Hayti; two brothers, Johnnie Perkins and his wife, Rosie, of South Bend, Ind. and William Johnson of Memphis; three sisters, Lillie Wilbourn and her husband, Louis, of Flint, Mich., Clara Smith and her husband, George and Bobby Johnson and her husband, Robert, all of Gary, Ind.; two sons-in-law, Elder Lucky Crowley of Wilwaukeen, Ind. and Paul Ficken of Columbia, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Craion of Kansas City; 37 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Walter and Charles Johnson and a sister, Juanita Johnson, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, in the North Sixth church of God in Christ in Hayti with Elder Nathaniel Ellis officiating.

Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery in Hayti, under direction of John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti.

Pallbearers were Melvin DeBerry, Richard Jones, Grover D. Fane, Edward Earl, Willie Wilson, Joe Melvin, Brady Thomas and Brian and Isaiah West.

Bob Gramling

Bob Gramling, 68, of Wappapello, Mo. and formerly of St. Louis, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at his home.

Born Oct. 17, 1933, in Walcott, Ark., son of the late Estes and Cordie Mays Gramling, he worked 30 years for General Motors and owned and operated Direct Advertising Publications in Wappapello. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Shook, Mo., a third degree Mason and member of the Eastern Star.

On April 30, 1983, in St Louis County, he married Barbara Dover who survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Phillip Gramling of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Michael Gramling of Kennett; one daughter, Debra Pierce of Kennett; two step-sons, Richard Wadlow and Marty Fancher, both of St. Louis; a step-daughter, Tammy Kutscher of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; three brothers, Stan Gramling of Jonesboro, Ark., Eugene and Malcolm Gramling, both of Kennett; three sisters, Maxine Ward of Aurora, Mo., Aledene Tinkle of Kennett and Madonna Stewart of Walcott, Ark., 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Frankie Gramling.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 23, in the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Mo., with Rev. Lee Roy Hefner officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elder cemetery at Campbell, Mo.

Adlean Bristow

Adlean Bristow, 76, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden.

Norman Counts

Norman Counts, 69, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Giardeau, Mo.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Malden.

Iva Culbertson

Iva Jean Culbertson, 78, of Kennett, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at Three Rivers Hospital-North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Culbertson and Spencer Furby officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

J.C. Hampton

J.C. Hampton, 65, of Qulin, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at Three Rivers HealthCare-South Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Rosemary Huddleston

Rosemary Huddleston, 68, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark.
