Lela Bogle

Lela May Bogle, 71, of Kennett, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born June 18, 1930, in Elmont, Ala., daughter of the late Geroge and Alma Carter Usery, she was a homemaker.

She married John J.W. Bogle, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Bogle; four brothers and sisters, Ed Usery, Maybell and Verintie Pratt and Maggie Young.

Survivors include five daughters, Shirley Davis, of Senath, Mo., Barbara Dolea, of Kennett, Kathy Brewer and Tammy Glidwell, both of Searcy, Ark. and Marilyn McComb, of White Oak, Mo.; four sisters, Marrgie Hanners, of Kennett, Effie Willett, of Steele, Mo., Louise Hicks, of Lakeville, Ark. and Bulaha Pratt, of Polaski, Tenn.; three brothers, Gilbert Usery, of Greenville, Miss., Geroge Usery, Jr. of Longview, Texas and John Usery, of St. James, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, June 7, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Powell officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Jonathan McComb, Shane and Dustin Glidwell, Daniel Davis, T.J. Brewer and David Dolea. Honorary pallbearer was Timothy Bogle.

Marie Howe

Marie Howe, 83, of Steele, Mo., died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at River Oaks Nursing Center in Steele.

Born Sept. 20, 1918, in Hornersville, Mo., daughter of the late Ed and Jane Fretwell Hensley, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God. She married James Elmer Howe, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Orvil Howe; one daughter, Donnie Howe; one sister, Flora Armstrong and two brothers, Carl and Burl Hensley.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Howe, of Dyersburg, Tenn. and Donald Howe, of Greenfield, Mo.; one daughter, Brenda Tomlin, of Festus, Mo.; one brother, Charles Hensley, of Dyersburg; two sisters, Neva Cossey, of Fairfield, Calif. and Juanita Sutton, of Brunswick, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, June 7, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home in Steele.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Faught officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion cemetery in Steele.

Glenda Jordan

Glenda Faye Jordan, 63, of St. Ann, Mo., formerly of Gideon, Mo., died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at Barnes-Jewish Extended Care Facility in Clayton, Mo.

Born Sept. 22, 1938, in Hornersville, Mo., daughter of the late Dick and Lucille Keating Wilkins, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. John. Mo.

On Oct. 15, 1956, in Hernando, Miss., she married Alton Wayne Jordan, who preceded her in death on June 29, 1988.

Survivors include three daughters, Cindy Zelle and husband, Tom, of St. Ann., Jane Hardgrave, of Festus, Mo. and Janet Jordan, of Overland, Mo. one brother, Winfred Wilkins and wife, Debbie, of Gideon; five grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and Carmen Vinyard and Lauren and Rachel Zelle and one great-grandchild, Kyle Vinyard.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, Mo.

Burial was in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at Cedar Hill.

Merl Mabie

Merl 'Gus' Mabie, 84, of Kennett, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Pearl Nelson

Pearl K. Nelson, 73, of Kennett, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Jan. 17, 1929, in Louise, Miss., she was the daughter of the late John and Rosa Coburn Stultz.

She married Edward Marshall Nelson, who preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1979. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie and James Stultz and one sister, Floriene Barsos.

Survivors include, three sons, Mike Holt, of Stafford, Va., Jim Nelson, of Marshall, Mo. and John Nelson, of Benton, Mo.; one daughter, Sharon Wilson, of Kennett; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, June 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Spencer Furby officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Greg Haywood, Jason, Jeff and Jake Nelson, Joseph Holt and Kenny Joe Wilson.

Mary Smith

Mary Lee Smith, 87, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at the Hayti Nursing Home.

Born March 17, 1915, in Lauderdale Co., Ala., daughter of the late Colonel Carl and Ethel Ann Bevis Young, she was a homemaker and a member of the Hayti Church of Christ.

On Nov. 11, 1934, in Lauderdale Co., she married Horace B. Smith, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Tyler Bob Smith and infant Baby Smith.

Survivors include, five daughters, Delores Plunkett and husband, Leonard, of Hayti, Rita Phethean, of Birmingham, Ala., Frances Ruth Williams and Maryln Curtis and husband, Jim, all of Florence, Ala. and Stella Olive and Husband Delbert Sr., of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; one brother, A.D. Young, of Florence; two sisters, Opal Creekmore, of Athens, Ala. and Elizabeth Robertson, of Wright, Ala.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with Mike Gardner and John Mark Wilson officiating.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery at Steele, Mo.

Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons, Leonard B. Plunkett, Mitch Olive and Del Olive, Jr., Logan, Hayden and Ethan Jenkins, Charlie and Bret Rape, Caleb Curtis, Courtney Gardner, Gatlin McClung and Tyler Williams.

Terry Moore

Terry Van Moore, 61, of O'Fallon, Mo., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, at the Veteran's Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Born Feb. 9, 1941, in Senath, son of the late Van Andrew and Margie Mae Weaver, he was a 1959 graduate of Senath High School and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

In June, 1966, in Mississippi, he married Janene McDaniel, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Tim Moore and his wife, Jan, of St. Peters, Mo.; a daughter, Terri Kay Sheldon of St. Clair, Mo.; two brothers, Joe Moore of Sikeston, Mo. and Jim Moore of Poplar Bluff, Mo., one sister, Sandra Johnson of Mer Rouge, La. and four grandchildren, Chelsea, Dylan, Ryan and Jesse Sheldon.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath with the Revs. Dale Rickman and Gaylon Williams officiating.

Burial was in Senath cemetery.

Pallbearers were John David Raines, Mike Hardee, Tim Moore, A.L. Kelley and Keith Milligan.

Broch Steinbach

Broch Allen Steinbach, 12 days, of White Oak, Mo., died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born May 24, 2002, he was the son of Lilvy Joseph Fuller of Kennett and Christy Steinbach of White Oak, and step-son of Richard Scott Wyrick of Kennett.

Other survivors include grandparents, Anita Gail Willis of Holcomb, Mo., Teresa Patton and Larry Fuller of Kennett and Connie Lee Wyrick of Kennett; great-grandparents, Elizabeth Turpin of Conway, Ark., Thomas Willis of Atkins, Ark., Kenneth Patton of Kennett and Linda Ragan of Kennett; great-great-grandparents, Philip Turpin of Conway.

Graveside services were Saturday, June 8, at the Gregory cemetery near Kennett with the Rev. Charles Avants officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.

Walter Calvert

Walter Calvert, 70, of Clarkton, Mo., died today, Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden.

Casey Corter

Casey Lynn Corter, 0, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital, in St. Louis, Mo.

Born June 6, 2002, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Joey Lynn and Susan Lorraine Ziler Corter, of Kennett.

Survivors also include paternal grandparents, Austin and Carolyn Ellison, of Kennett; maternal grandparents, Earl and Pat Ziler, of Dunedin, Fla. and paternal great-grandmother, Alpha Counts, of Kennett.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, J.C. Corter and great-grandparents, H.A. Counts, Denn and Mabel Ziler and Howard and Bernice McKenney.

Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett with James Powell officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.

Ruby Davis

Ruby May Davis, 95, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, June 7, 2002, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.

Born Aug. 15, 1906, in Dunklin County, daughter of the late Cobey and Clara Lance Gabriel, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti.

In 1928, in Kennett, she married Johnny Earl Davis, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, J.D. Davis and one daughter, Evelyn Witham.

Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Capps and Glenda Atkins and husband, Jerald, all of Hayti; four grandchildren, Sharon Midkiff, of Little Rock, Ark., Danny Capps, of Forrest City, Ark., Jona Atkins, of Wilkesboro, N.C. and Chris Ann Dollins, of Kennett; six great-grandchildren, Johnny Midkiff, of Little Rock, Jason Capps, of Nashville, Tenn., Bobby Midkiff, of Conway, Ark., Sandy Capps, of Forrest City and Joseph and Brittany Dollins, of Kennett; one brother, Wheeler Clark, Washington, Ill. and one sister, Lucille Jenkins, of Washington.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 9, at the First Baptist Church in Hayti with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Danny and Jason Capps, Paul, Johnny and Bobby Midkiff and Terry Dollins.

Honorary pallbearers were deacons of the First Baptist Church in Hayti.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.

William Emery

William Trevor Emery, 0, died June 5, 2002, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti. Mo.

Born June 5, 2002, in Hayti, he was the son of Jacqueline Denise Collins and William Dewayne Emery, of Bragg City, Mo.

Survivors also include one sister, Jerrica Emery, of Bragg City; grandparents, Jackie and Tina Collins, of Bragg City and Joan Odom, of Kennett and William Charles Emery, of Oklahoma and two aunts, Christina Folkes and Robbin Collins, both of Kennett.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 8, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with John Mark Wilson officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.
