C. B. Johnson, 87, of Kennett, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett.

Visitation will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Ollie Jones

Ollie Bell Jones, 86, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at Hayti.

Born June 12, 1916, in Lexington, Miss., daughter of the late Hill and Meady Tolbert Webster, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include five daughters, Charlie M. Newman and Irene Landfair and husband, Perry, all of Hayti, Mattie Lee Lacy and husband, Charlie, of Greenwood, Miss. and Shirley Jackson and Nonella Marshall, both of Detroit, Mich.; three sons, James Lee Whitt and wife, Levurta, of Chicago, Ill., Clarence Whitt and wife, Mary, of Pace, Miss. and Raymond Jones and wife, Bonnie, of Cleveland, Ohio; one step-son, Scott Calahand, of Indianapolis, Ind.; 41 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister; six brothers; two daughters. Melna Gregory and Emma Watts and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Church of Christ in Hayti with John Mark Wilson officiating.

Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Clarence Whitt, Jr., Lorenzo and William Harris, Isaac Randle, Randy Landfair and Del Harris. Honorary pallbearers were Lawrence and Henry Newman, Perry Brown and Darion Thomas.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Kelly

Sarah "Ninny" Francis Kelly, 71, of Clarkton, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 20, 2002, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Dec. 23, 1930, in Friendship, Tenn., daughter of the late Homer Vaughn and Elizabeth Spence Epsey, she was of the Baptist faith.

On Feb. 11, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., she married Vinis "Bud" Kelly, Sr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1984.

Survivors include four daughters, Frances Reynolds and husband, Greg, of Clarkton, Dianna Caby and husband, Fred, of Brownwood, Mo., Brenda Berry and husband, Phil, of St. John, Mo. and Lora Emmons and husband, Larry, of Holcomb, Mo.; one son, Vinis "Bo" Kelly, Jr., of Kennett; one sister, Pat Stallard, of Anaheim, Calif., a granddaughter, Tammy Loughary, of Gideon, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.

Burial was in the Stanfield cemetery at Clarkton.

Pallbearers were Greg Reynolds, Sr., Fred Caby, Phil Berry, Larry Emmons, Junior Loughary and Greg Reynolds, Jr.

Elizabeth Luna

Elizabeth Danielle Luna, 23, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Memphis, Tenn.

Born March 22, 1979, in Hayti, daughter of Linda McLemore, of Hayti and Daniel Luna, of Pascola, Mo., she was a homemaker and a home health worker for Pemiscot County Memorial Health System. She attended Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church at Pascola.

Survivors also include three children April, Randy and Cassie, all of Hayti; her fiance, Steve Bryson, of Hayti; two brothers, Matthew Luna, of Caruthersville, Mo. and Mark Luna, of Braggadocio, Mo.; grandfather, Eugene Alvis, of Hayti and grandmother, Cora Luna, of Pascola.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Mike Tinnin and Pastor Karen Hartung officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Hoss Watkins, Dusty Hendershot, Chris Turnage, Johnny Thrasher and Alex and Jeffrey Drumwright.

Urban Moody

Urban Wayne Moody, 77, of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at the Malden Nursing Care Center.

Born Jan. 17, 1925, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Urban and Lillian Pleasant Moody, he was advertising manager for Pepsi Cola and a driver for the Dunklin County Transit Services, Inc. He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Malden.

On Jan. 10, 1943, in Malden, he married Wilma Price, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two daughters, Janice Divine and husband, Mike, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Sharon Lee and husband, Larry, of Eldon, Mo.; two sons, Bill Moody and wife, Pamela, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Mark Moody, of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Bessie Hawley, of Alabama; one brother, Curt Moody, of Malden; six grandchildren, Heather Davis, Nicholas Divine, Chris, Craig and Corey Lee and Robbie Moody and five great-grandchildren, Trenton Davis and Dustin, Chelsea, Amanda and Chris Lee.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Jewell Moody and one sister, Roberta Barnes.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 24, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Scott Keller officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Park cemetery at Malden.

Alpha Newman

Alpha Aline Newman, 82, of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at her residence.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial will follow at the McGrew cemetery in Senath.

Charleen Crook

Charleen Crook, 94, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Mo.

Born Nov. 8, 1908, in Grand Rivers, Ky., daughter of the late Robert and Birdie Tidwell Qualls, she was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Malden.

On Nov. 22, 1920's, in Piggott, Ark., she married John Crook, who preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1964. She was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Crook.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ann McClemore, of Calvert City, Ky., Dorothy Pascazi, of Kimberling City, Mo., Joan Mayberry, of Essex, Mo. and Glenda Wilson, of Dexter, Mo.; one sister, Pauline Owens, of Charleston, Mo.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 26, at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden with Bro. Jack Wrinkle officiating.

Wilma Doherty

Wilma Doherty, 61, of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Born March 7, 1941, in Broseley, Mo., daughter of the late Chester Earl and Goldie Dona Johnson Merritt, she was a member of the Emerson Street Church of God in Kennett.

On Aug. 20, 1961, she married Gary Doherty, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son Gary Doherty, Jr. and wife, Maria, of Kennett; one daughter, Lisa Ann Adkins and husband, Barry, of Lexington Park, Md.; one brother, Mike Merritt, of Kennett; four sisters, Joyce Francis, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Alice Patrick, of Cape Fair, Mo., Mary Pickens, of Kennett and Janiet Adams, of Odenton, Md. and three grandchildren, Barry Van Adkins, Jr., Chnristopher Scott Adkins and Garret Thomas Doherty.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 26, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ben Jordan and Michael Chambliss officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Rex Jeffress, Tim Simmons, Clayton Lightfoot, Glenn Hurst, Charles Isabell, Larry Chailland and Ron Hicks.

Violet Pflueger

Violet Pflueger, 63, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett.

Irene Rhoades

Irene M. Rhoades, 83, of Lockport, Ill., formerly of Malden and Gideon, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at Silver Cross Hospital in Lockport.

Born Jan. 5, 1919, in Morley, Mo., daughter of the late August and Gertrude Tuck Sittner, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gideon and a member of the Madonna Chapter Order of Eastern Star in Clarkton.

She married Ted F. Rhoades, who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1970. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Jean Rhoades; one sister, Edith Nettleton and three brothers, Jesse, Jack and Peter Sittner.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Rhoades and wife, Mike, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one daughter, Joyce Darlene Tucker and husband, Earnest, of Lockport; one sister, Lucille Newsom, of Dexter, Mo.; five grandchildren, Stephan and Kimberly Tucker, Ron and Jon Rhoades and Michele Praefke and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Moore officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Carnese Crafton

Carnese Crafton, 87, of Kennett, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Arrangements incomplete with McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett.

Delbert Gill

Delbert Gill, 66, of Holcomb, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at his home.

Born Oct. 4, 1936, in Morehouse, Mo., he was a son of the late James Harrison and Dollie Childers Gill. He was retired from the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post 293 in Malden, Mo.

He married Lillie Gill who preceded him in death in 1989. On Feb. 2, 1991, he married Wanda Gill who survives of the home.

Other survivors include three sons, Bobby Gill of Columbia, Tenn., James Gill and Donald Gill of Tallaposa, Mo.; four daughters, Sharon Farney of Phoenix, Ariz., Patricia Black of Lilbourn, Mo., Connie Hamilton of Evans, Ga. and Barbara Brant of Tallapoosa; three step-daughters, Dollie Proctor and Nancy Foraker of Bosworth, Mo. and Myrtle Politte of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two sisters, Bessie Coonts of Blytheville, Ark. and Alice Gill of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Ponder Funeral Home Chapel in Lilbourn with the Rev Donald Emory officiating.

Burial was in Mounds Park cemetery in Lilbourn.
