Janice Lorain Anderson, 67, of Noel, Mo., was found departed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, near Grove, Okla.
Buford Lee Anderson, 69, of Noel, Mo., was found departed from this life on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in McDonald County, Mo.
Janice was born March 7, 1937, in Falls City, Neb., the daughter of the late Ted and Ruth (Randall) Kirkendall. Janice lived most of her life in Modesto, California, the son of the late Robert and Lela Anderson. For several years Buford was employed by Payless Cashways as department manager of the electrical division.
Janice moved to Noel, Mo., on Jan. 5, 2001, and Buford followed on Aug. 31, 2003, so they could be closer to their son, Dana.
Buford and Janice were preceded in death by a son, David Paul Anderson, on Nov. 13, 1984.
They are survived by a son, Dana Anderson of Noel, Mo.; three grandchildren, Derek, Kelli and Kobi Thompson, all of Plano, Calif.; Buford is also survived by a sister, Rowena Owings of Oakley, Calif. Burial will follow in the Lakewood Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home of Noel, Mo.

Nick K. Grissom
Aug. 10, 1947-Jan. 27, 2005
Mr. Nick K. Grissom, 57, of Neosho, Mo., departed this life Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, in the Northwest Medical Center of Calif., the son of Harry and Geneva May (Claunch) Crown. Throughout his life he had various truck driving positions, and greatly enjoyed his time on the road.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Clifford Ray Crown.
Gerald is survived by four daughters, Sheryl Crown of Fayetteville, Ark., Debbie Brown of Winslow, Ark., Rebecca Jo MaHurin of Garfield, Ark., and Jennifer Henderson of Fayetteville, Ark.; a son, Gary Moore of Winslow, Ark.; three step-daughters, Vicki Rivas of Tacoma, Wash., Connie Amos of Colcord, Okla., and Cindy Huffman of Jay, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; his mother, Geneva May Crown of Gentry, Ark.; his companion for the last 12 years, Lura Williams, of the home, and her family, a daughter, Beth Lance of Siloam Springs, Ark., three sons, Jason Williams of Anderson, Mo., Nathan Williams of Lowell, Ark., and Von Williams of the state of Idaho, and eight grandchildren; his first wife, Carol Moore of Winslow, Ark.; a sister, Frances Hicks of California; three stepsons, Dale Buttram, Neosho, Gary Buttram, Joplin, and Roger Buttram, Sitka, Alaska; a stepdaughter, Marta Grassi, Goodman; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services was held Monday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m., at Clark Chapel of Memories with Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating. Interment followed at Southwest City Cemetery with military honors.
Pallbearers were Crissa Rohlfing, Al Forbes, Don Cooper, Bob Grassi, Joe Cooper and Gary Buttram. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Cooper and Al Dixon.
Friends called at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 5 p.m. Sunday.

Arrangements were under direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, Mo.

James C. ‘Jim’ Shannon
Sept. 27, 1932-Jan. 30, 2005
Mr. James C. "Jim" Shannon, 72, of Anderson, Mo., departed this life at 7:48 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, in St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
Jim was born Sept. 27, 1932, in Milan, Tenn., the son of the late Earl and Mary (Bradford) Shannon. Jim lived most of his life in the Chicago, Ill. area, where he owned and operated several restaurants including, The California; paternal grandmother, Mary Davenport of the state of Virginia; paternal grandfather, Gary H. Davenport of Little Rock, Ark.; maternal great-grandparents, John and Joann Stutts of Anderson, Mo.
Graveside funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, in the New Bethel Cemetery west of Anderson, Mo., with Pastor David Munoz officiating.
Visitation will be on Thursday noon until 1:45 p.m. in the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home, of Anderson, Mo.
