ANNA LEE PATTON
Anna Lee Patton ended her earthly journey on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 at Lee’s Summit Christian Church.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
Burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Anna was born on May 25, 1913 in Reno, Penn., to Charles Costin and Nettie Naomi Rodgers Walters.
At the age of 10 years, she traveled from Pennsylvania to Warsaw, Mo., along with her parents, three brothers, two sisters and her grandfather in a covered wagon.
They settled in Cole Camp, Mo., and she met her husband, George Albert Patton and they were married on Sept. 27, 1930.
To this union, seven children were born.
Anna worked hard as a homemaker and prided herself on her cooking skills.
Her next greatest love was dancing and she always said, "I could waltz ’til the cows come home."
Anna lived a full life and was very active in church until her health failed her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and sisters, her husband, one son and one grandson.
Anna is survived by four daughters, Virginia Bailey of Lee’s Summit, Muriel Taylor of Camdenton, Mo., Mary Gumm (Jim) of Lee’s Summit, and Neetie "Ann" Dean (Fred) of Climax Springs, Mo.; two sons, Albert Patton (Donna) of Clinton, Mo., and Russ Patton (Kim) of Lee’s Summit; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends

JAMES DAVID (J.D.) VANBLARCUM
James David (J.D.) VanBlarcum, 76, of Warrensburg, Mo., passed away on Feb. 5, 2006, at the Western Missouri Medical Center of Warrensburg. J.D. was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Knob Noster, Mo., to James Clyde and Della May Lipscomb VanBlarcum.
Both parents are deceased.
He started his teaching career at Kingsville High School and taught one year, 1954-1955.
He taught basic woods, general shop and history.
In the fall of 1955, he began teaching at Concordia High School.
He taught basic drafting, advanced woods, general shop, basic electricity and driver’s training.
All new teachers were given a tour of the schools in the district, and when he was introduced to the office staff, he met his future wife, Anita Fears, who was secretary to the superintendent of schools.
After dating for several months, they became engaged on Feb. 14, 1957, and were married at the First Baptist Church in Higginsville, Mo., on June 14, 1957.
They have celebrated 48 years of marriage together.
They have three children, Beth Spena and husband, Mark, of Louisville, Ky., David VanBlarcum and wife, Robin, of Warrensburg, and Andrew VanBlarcum and wife, Kathy, of Kansas City; six grandchildren, Gregory and Rebecca Spena, Kaylee, Justin, Paige and Brandi VanBlarcum; two brothers, Rex and Carole VanBlarcum of Casper, Wyo., and Cecil and Judy VanBlarcum of Peculiar, Mo.
There are also several nieces and nephews.
In 1964, J.D. and his family moved to Lee’s Summit. J.D. was hired by the Lee’s Summit School District to teach basic electricity, electronics, communications electronics and drafting.
He taught for 20 years at Lee’s Summit and retired from teaching in the spring of 1984.
He had taught for a total of 30 years.
He was a part-time instructor for the Adult Education Program at Longview Community College from 1984 to 1987.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2006, at the First Baptist Church of Warrensburg with the Reverends Bob Ingle and Mark Spena officiating.
Burial will be in the Higginsville Cemetery; pallbearers are Don McWhirt, Phil Woodard, Les Grow, Larry Quinley, John Luellen and Gerald Moore.
Full military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 131 and VFW Post No. 2513 of Warrensburg.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Warrensburg, the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home or the Nathan Crabtree Fundraising project.
Please direct all contributions to the funeral home or the church.

ROSETTA ILENE WILKERSON
Rosetta Ilene Wilkerson, 77, passed away peacefully Feb. 4, 2006, at her Lee’s Summit home.
Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6 at Langsford Funeral Home.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home; burial immediately following the service at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens off U.S. 50 in Lee’s Summit.
Rosetta was born Aug. 20, 1928, the youngest of 12 children.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her eleven siblings, one granddaughter and one grandson.
She will be lovingly missed and always remembered by her beloved husband of 61 years, Cleo L. Wilkerson, of the home; two daughters, Linda and Ron Watkins of Lee’s Summit and Jane and Jay Milan of Warsaw, Mo.; two sons, Cleo Jr. and Jane Wilkerson of Flippin, Ark., and Larry and Judy Wilkerson of Lee’s Summit; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Thank you to everyone who helped make her final days on this earth as peaceful and comfortable as possible.

DIXIE LEE WEEDA
Dixie Lee Weeda, 56, of Lee’s Summit was welcomed into heaven on Feb. 4, 2006 after a seven-year battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held on Feb. 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 S.W. Third St. in Lee’s Summit.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the funeral home; burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood.
Dixie was born on Feb. 11, 1949, in Clarinda, Iowa.
In 1967, she graduated from Bedford High School in Bedford, Iowa, and married her high school sweetheart Roy Weeda on Sept. 24.
Dixie was a long-time resident of Greenwood and Lee’s Summit.
She loved children and provided day care in the home for many years until she began her career with the FBI in 1987, where she remained employed until her death.
Dixie was admired and respected by her co-workers and superiors for her conscientious work ethic and courageous spirit.
Her first priority was her family.
She loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
She also enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, attending NASCAR races and camping in the RV.
Dixie was a blessing and an inspiration to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
She leaves behind husband, Roy Weeda; son and daughter-in-law Troy and Jacque Weeda and grandchildren, Dani and Trey, all of Lee’s Summit; daughter and son-in-law Kristie and Eric Sapp and granddaughters Mikhayla and Paige, all of Lee’s Summit; son and daughter-in-law Cory and Carrie Weeda and granddaughters Brianne and Katelyn, all of Lee’s Summit; parents, Dick and Jean Beemer of Gravity, Iowa; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Scott Sheffield of Gravity.

WILLIAM EDWIN BREON
William Edwin Breon, 79, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at White Ridge Health Care Center.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland, 7808 Foster, Overland Park, Kan., 66204-2955.
Mr. Breon was born May 16, 1925, in St. Clair County, Mo., and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Ed owned and operated Ed Breon Construction for many years in the Lee’s Summit area, retiring in 1990.
Ed was married to his wife, Ruby, for 59 years before her passing on Jan. 21, 2004.
He was an honorary member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say of Troop 264.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Breon; his parents, Claude and Jessie Breon; and one sister, Jean Harper.
He is survived by his four children, Larry and wife, Cheryl, Ronnie Breon, Sheila Breon, and Sherri Schnakenberg and husband, Guy, all of Lee’s Summit; grandson, Kurt Breon, Dale City, Va.; granddaughter, Kaila Oliver, Pleasant Hill; grandson, Andrew Schnakenberg, Lee’s Summit; six great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Christopher, Grady, Jorden, Carsynne and Ty; a brother, Robert Breon and wife, Esther Lou, Appleton City, Mo.; brother-in-law, Sam Harper, St. Louis, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

MATTIE RUTH CLARK
Mattie Ruth Clark, 91, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Village Care Center.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
Ruth was born Sept. 29, 1913, in Monroe, La.
Ruth married Jack Clark in 1935 and made Lee’s Summit their home.
She worked 23 years at the Jackson County Hospital as a nurse aid until she retired.
She was a member of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church and D.A.R.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Clark; and their son, Charles Wayne Clark.
She is survived by her two sons, Gary Clark and Gene Clark; and one daughter, Donna Stewart; three grandchildren, Brian Clark, Jason Stewart and Jennie Bob Bizal-Clark.

ROBERT “BOB” K. JONES
Robert “Bob” K. Jones, 65, of Lee’s Summit, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at his home.
Funeral services were a 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Bob was born March 15, 1939, in Jackson County, Mo., where he lived all of his life.
He graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1957.
Bob attended Finley School of Engineering and was an Army veteran.
Bob served on the Lee’s Summit Police Department from 1961 to 1979, the last 10 years as deputy chief.
He attended the Missouri State Highway Patrol Academy, Central Missouri State University’s National Center for Criminal Justice Administration and the Kansas City Police Academy.
During his tenure with the police department, he qualified for and served as an explosive ordinance disposal technician and was a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Major Case Squad.
From 1979 to 1993, Bob worked for the city of Lee’s Summit Public Works Department as operations superintendent.
Bob also directed the design and implementation of the city’s Employee Occupational Safety Program and was instrumental in developing and directing the city’s solid waste management program from its conception.
Bob traveled to China with the People to People International Program for a solid waste and environmental issues exchange.
He earned a paralegal certificate from Rockhurst College.
Bob was elected to two terms on the Lee’s Summit School Board from 1981 to 1989, serving as board president during his final year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh T. and Ruth A. Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marilyn S. Jones; two brothers, Vernon T. Jones and wife, Maralee, Tulsa, Okla., and Richard H. Jones, Houston, Texas; three children, Sabra Jones, Durant, Okla., Shawn Casey and wife, Amy, Kansas City, and Elizabeth Dixon and husband, Myron, Kirbyville, Mo.; two stepchildren, Randal C. Hedberg and wife, Cheryl, Lee’s Summit, and Lisa Doherty and husband, John, Lee’s Summit; many nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
During Bob’s two-and-a-half year struggle with cancer, he maintained a very positive attitude and strong faith.
He was blessed with many wonderful and supportive friends.
His family is grateful for their special love and extraordinary support.
Bob was a very thoughtful, generous person with a great sense of humor who will be remembered fondly by all those who knew and loved him.
