JAMES A. LISKY
James A. Lisky, 83, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Village Care Center.
Mass services are at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, Lee’s Summit; burial in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo.
Friends may call from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, at Langsford Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John Knox Hospice.
James is survived by his wife of 55 years, Regina Lisky, of John Knox Village, Lee’s Summit; son, James A. Lisky Jr. and wife, Jane, Shawnee, Kan.; son, Mark Lisky, Jackson, N.J.; daughter, Jean Weir and husband, Tom, Lee’s Summit; and four grandchildren.

GLORIA M. OWSLEY
Gloria M. Owsley, 70, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Langsford Funeral Home.
Cremation.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Kansas City Hospice.
Mrs. Owsley was born May 3, 1934, in Blackburn, Mo.
She attended Blackburn High School.
She married William Lee Owsley on May 26, 1954, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
They celebrated 50 years of marriage this past May.
After living in Colorado, they later moved to the Kansas City area where Gloria was a member of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church. After retirement, Gloria and Bill loved to travel in their motor home, and also enjoyed their winter home in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Viola Nienhiser.
Gloria is survived by her husband, William Lee Owsley, of the home; two daughters, Sharon Nichols, Parkville, Mo., and Karen Cesar, Smithville, Mo.; and four grandchildren who loved her very much, Mike Jenny, Kristen and Jessica.

DONALD F. SWATERS
Donald F. Swaters, 79, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Oct. 27, 2004, at Wilshire at Lakewood.
Mass services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, Lee’s Summit; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, at Langsford Funeral Home, with a rosary following at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice.
Donald was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Montrose, Mo.
He retired from Honeywell after 33 years of service.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores A. Swaters.
Donald is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Tom Rainey, and his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Leslie Swaters, all of Lee’s Summit; his sister, Joan Richter; and six grandchildren.

ADNE LORRAINE SELOVER
Adne L. Selover, 90, passed away Oct. 20, 2004, at John Knox Village Care Center, Lee’s Summit, literally surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were noon Saturday, Oct. 23, at Floral Hills Funeral Home.
Donations may be made to Adne’s favorite charity, the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Robert and Gerald Hogan.
Adne is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Pat and Ken Arey, and Joy and Jerry Brown, all of Lee’s Summit; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Adne was truly loved and endeared by all who knew her.

CHARLES H. ANDERSON
Charles H. Anderson, of Cass County, Mo., passed away Oct. 23, 2004. Cremation.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation.
He was born May 1, 1928.
Charles is survived by his wife, Betty O.; three daughters, Carol (Kirk) Kempton, St. Joseph, Mo., Karen (Dennis) Madtes, Germany, and Ruth (Michael) Hester, Cass County; four grandsons, Joshua, Gabriel and Benjamin Madtes and Kristopher Kempton; and great-granddaughter, Natalie Kempton.

FLOYD E. BOWLIN
Floyd E. Bowlin, 77, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Floyd was born June 28, 1927, in Grain Valley, Mo.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a 50 year Mason.
He retired from Allied Signal in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bowlin, of the home; two sons, Jerry Bowlin, Lee’s Summit, and Jeffrey Bowlin, Castle Rock, Colo.; one daughter, Joyce Reeves, Pleasant Hill; two brothers, John Bowlin, Lowrey City, Mo., and Bill Bowlin, Grain Valley; six granddaughters; one grandson; and five great-grandsons.

BONNIE LOU BROWN
Bonnie Lou Brown, 63, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Monterey Park Nursing Home.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Bonnie was born Aug. 17, 1941, in West Plains, Mo., to Lloyd and Norma May Ford.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Jack L. Brown, of the home; her son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Melissa Brown, Lee’s Summit; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and John Rand, Pleasant Hill; her stepdaughter, Kathy Mitchell, Kansas City, Mo.; her mother, Norma Ford; her three grandchildren, Anaya Brown, Abigail Rand and Conner Rand; her step-grandchildren, Ryan Mitchell and Jennifer Mitchell; and her two brothers, Dohn Ford and David Ford.

JOHN FRANKLIN HOMAN JR.
John Franklin Homan Jr., 84, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Oct. 22, 2004, at The Groves in Independence.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Lee’s Summit Community of Christ; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lee’s Summit Community of Christ Building Fund.
John was born July 26, 1920, in Otterville, Mo., to Addie Lorene Trout and John Franklin Homan Sr.
He was the eldest of five children.
He worked for Safeway Stores Inc. in the Kansas City area for 42 years in management.
He was instrumental in organizing the Retail Clerks Union in the Kansas City area and was past president of Safeway Employees Association.
John was an elder in the Lee’s Summit Community of Christ Congregation, as well as chaplain at the temple in Independence for 12 years.
He served on the Lee’s Summit Ministerial Alliance and food commodities program in the community.
John was past president of the Lee’s Summit Lions Club, where he was a member for 45 years, and was recognized as Lion of the Year in 1973 for his work in the community.
He volunteered at Three Trails Visitors Center in Independence.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Anita Hedgecock; three daughters, Judith Shafe and husband, Kian, Kansas City, Mo., Jacquelin Fowler and husband, Donald, Irving, Texas, and Joyce Walker and husband, Terry, Blue Springs; sister, Dorothy Williams, Sedalia, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

HAROLD G. HOLBROOK
Harold G. Holbrook, 80, of Lee’s Summit, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, after a courageous fight with cancer. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Harold was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Omaha, Neb.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He retired from AT&T in 1986.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lee’s Summit.
Harold is survived by his wife, Ollie Holbrook, of the home; two daughters, Linda Harris and husband, Ernie, Lee’s Summit, and Nancy Engelhardt and husband, Darryl, Lee’s Summit; and three grandchildren, Mark Evans, Denise Engelhardt and Lori Engelhardt, all of Lee’s Summit.
