Mary E. Easton
Mary E. Easton, 80, Camden Point, Mo. and formerly of Bethany, Mo., died February 5, 2001, at a Platte City nursing home.
Mrs. Easton was born in Burlington, Colo. on Oct. 26, 1920, the daughter of Elmer and Gertrude (O'Doyle) Walstrom. She married Richard "Dick" Easton on Oct. 27, 1938, and he survives of the home. Mrs. Easton had worked for the P.M. Place Warehouse in Bethany for many years. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bethany.
Preceding her in death were her parents, two sons, Kenneth G. and Billy, and three brothers, Lawrence, Raymond and Gene Walstrom.
In addition to her husband, she leaves five sons, Joe Easton, Phoenix, Ariz., Rick Easton, Bethany, Mike Easton, Gladstone, Mo., Terry Easton, Camden Point, and Shane Easton, Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Lisa Purcell, Camden Point, and Sharon Coleman, Lathrop, Mo.; one sister, Frances Glynn, Alamosa, Colo.; one brother, Clarence Walstrom, Alamosa, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial was held Feb. 8, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bethany. A graveside service will be held Feb. 9 at the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington, Colo.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Bethany, in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 46, Bethany, Mo. 64424.

Blanche D. Travis
Blanche D. Travis, 91, Albany, Mo., died February 7, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center in Albany.
Mrs. Travis was born in Ridgeway, Mo. on April 9, 1909, the daughter of Charles and Allie Price. She married Virgil Travis on June 28, 1930, and he preceded her in death in 1991. She had lived in Ridgeway until moving to Albany five years ago. She graduated from Ridgeway High School and was a member of the First Christian Church, C.W.F. Club, W.T.L. Club, and O.E.S. Ridgeway Chapter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Oral, Willard, Dean and Cleo Price; three sisters, Lesta Swigart, Bernice Buzzard and Olive Lowe and a granddaughter, Susan Sears.
She leaves a daughter, Colleen Cully, Albany; two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at the First Christian Church of Ridgeway, under the direction of the Polley-Slaughter-Polley Funeral Home, Ridgeway. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery, Ridgeway. Friends may call after 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Albany First Christian Church or the Ridgeway First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home at 107 Cedar, Ridgeway, Mo. 64481.

Robert (Bob) Lee Guess
Robert (Bob) Lee Guess, 74, Bethany, Mo., died February 14, 2001, at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Guess was born in Kellerton, Iowa on March 28, 1926, the son of Ray Guess and Irene (Haley) Guess. He married Wilma Werner on June 14, 1947, and she survives of the home. He had served in the U. S. Marine Corps and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Bethany V.F.W. Post #2176 and the Bethany American Legion Post# 216.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Glee and Rex Eugene Guess.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Bill Rivers, Kansas City, Mo.; brother Hallie Ray Guess, Bethany, and a sister, Doris Irene Madison, Catlin, Ill.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at the Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Bethany. Military honors will be conducted by the Bethany V.F.W. Post #2176 and American Legion Post #216, and the Albany V.F.W. Post #5329 and American Legion Post #106.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 46, Bethany, Mo. 64424.

Marguerite Sullivan
Marguerite Sullivan, 76, Ridgeway, Mo., died February 13, 2001, at Harrison County Community Hospital in Bethany, Mo.
Mrs. Sullivan was born in Coal Hill, Ark. She married Hoyt Sullivan on March 23, 1943, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 1999. She was a homemaker and belonged to the Christian faith.
In addition to her husband, her parents, Earl Smith and Sudie (Campbell) Smith preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Donald E. Sullivan, Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Rebecca S. Morgan, Waxahachie, Texas, Sarah l. Buckingham, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Regina E. Whitaker, Ridgeway, Mo.; 9 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at the Polley-Slaughter-Polley Funeral Home in Ridgeway. Burial will following in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Ridgeway. Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. Saturday morning until service time.
Memorial gifts may be made to the cemetery in care of the funeral home at 107 Cedar Street, Ridgeway, Mo. 64481.

Bill Cottrell
Virgil William "Bill" Cottrell, Jr., 53, Cainsville, Mo., died February 12, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Cottrell was born in Bethany, Mo. on Feb. 27, 1947, the son of Virgil William "Dick" and Mildred Fern (Oswalt) Cottrell. He married Dorothy Marie Lowrey on Oct. 8, 1967, and she survives of the home. He was a 1965 graduate of Mt. Moriah High School and worked as a farmer. Since 1994 he had been employed by Con-Agra Frozen Foods of Milan. He attended the Lighthouse Faith Christian Church of Princeton.
A graveside service was held Feb. 15, 2001, at the Goshen Cemetery, west of Princeton, under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service, Princeton.
The family requests memorial contributions to Wright Memorial Hospital in lieu of flowers. Contributions may be mailed to Dorothy Cottrell, Rt. 1 Box 54, Cainsville, Mo. 64632.

Nana P. (Miller) Zercher
Nana P. (Miller) Zercher, 83, Bethany, Mo. and formerly of Redding, Iowa and St. Louis, Mo., died March 1, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Zercher was born in Worth County, Mo. on March 12, 1917, the daughter of William Miller and May (Jackson) Miller. She married Raymond Croy in 1935, and later married Fred Zercher in 1948. She worked with Dr. Reid at the Reid Hospital and later for Dr. C.W. McCartney, retiring in 1980. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the First Christian Church for many years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Fred; infant daughter Nora Mae Croy; three sisters, Cora M. Jarman, Lorraine Todd, and Dixie D. Duckett, and three brothers, Dewey Miller, Alva L. Miller, and Charles E. Miller.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Ann Vicker and husband Lyle of Essex, Iowa, and Billie Rae Pillow and husband Rev. David of Grain Valley, Mo.; one son, Tom F. Zercher, Cape Coral, Fla.; ten grandchildren, David Pillow, Jr., Steven Pillow, Pamela Olson, Leanne Burney, Jeff Pillow, Troy Vicker, Lindsay Larson, Jamie Vicker, Erich Zercher and Emily Zercher; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at the First Baptist Church in Bethany, under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. Burial will be in the Lotts Grove Cemetery, Hatfield. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday, March 5. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church and/or Harrison County Hospice in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 46, Bethany, Mo. 64424.

V. Marguerite (McLain) Cordle
V. Marguerite (McLain) Cordle, 76, Cainsville, Mo. and formerly of Kansas City, Mo., died March 3, 2001, at Liberty Hospital.
Mrs. Cordle was born in Cainsville on July 10, 1924, the daughter of Albert L. and Mary Ann (Bower) McLain. She married Theodore Wesley Cordle on Oct. 26, 1947, and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of the First Christian Church in Cainsville, C.W.F., American Legion Auxiliary in Cainsville. She had also served on the Cainsville city council.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mable Tucker, and six brothers, Herbert, Ernie, Clarence, Noel, Otie and Robert McLain.
She leaves a sister, Roma Butler, Cainsville, and a brother, Ted McLain, Blythedale.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at the First Christian Church in Cainsville, under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Burial will follow in the Zoar Cemetery, Cainsville. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home Monday afternoon and until service time at the church Tuesday.

Edna Mae Archer
Edna Mae Archer, 79, Blue Ridge, Mo., passed away June 6, 2001.
Mrs. Archer was born on Nov. 5, 1921 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of William Grover and Ruby Karnes Golliher. She attended Kirksville State Teacher College and later became a teacher. She married Ralph Arch on March 30, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1984.
She leaves her children Nancy and husband Marvin Cross, Waukee, Iowa, Robert Archer and wife Debbie, Tulsa, Okla., and Mary Jane Archer, Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Shirley Jean Gannan, Bethany; a brother, Donald Golliher; sister-in-law Olive Rucker, Eagleville; grandchildren Jonathan and Matthew Cross, Waukee, and Christopher, Andrew, Brooke, Michael and Daniel Archer of Tulsa; nieces and nephews Karen Wray, Mike Swift, Linda Hinson Pat Swift, Dan Swift, Carol Sue Starmer, Livinnia Gates and Ron Wiley as well as many friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2001, at the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church, under the direction of the Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 46, Bethany, Mo. 64424.
