CLARENCE -­ Glenn Purdy, 87, of Clarence, died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Clarence Care Center.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Shelbina Cemetery.
The Rev. William Knowles will officiate.
Burial will be at Shelbina Cemetery ­ West Lawn addition.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence.
Mr. Purdy was born March 29, 1913, in Shelby County to Irving and Ida Belle White Purdy.
Survivors include one brother, Dale Purdy of Bevier; one sister, Maureen Thompson of Shelbina; one son, Orval Purdy of Madison; two step-children, Jerry and Gary Griffin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, one as an infant.
Mr. Purdy was a plumber and farmer by trade.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the charity of the donor's choice.

LOUISIANA -­ Mildred Violet Griffith Bruce, 85, of Louisiana, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Sterne Funeral Home.
The Rev. Randle Cone will officiate.
Burial will be at River View Cemetery in Louisiana.
Mrs. Bruce was born on Aug. 15, 1915, in Pike County to Jess and Dolcie King Griffith.
She was married to Champ L. Bruce.
He preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Paula Kirtlink of Louisiana; one sister, Elanor Wilson of Louisiana; four grandchildren, Robert Waggoner of Kansas City, Tammy Kay Kirtlink Weida of O'Fallon, Wonda Kirtlink Pursiful of Louisiana and Jimmie Kirtlink of O'Fallon; six grandchildren, Megan K. Bryan of O'Fallon, William Alexander Weida of O'Fallon, Ryan Joseph Pursiful of Louisiana, Jacob Kirtlink of O'Fallon, Brett Kirtlink of O'Fallon and Cindy Waggoner Shore.
She was also preceded in death by one brother, Willard Paul Griffith.
Mrs. Bruce was a retired business owner of Bruce's Market.
She was a member of the Elmwood Presbyterian Church.

John Frank Conrad
LOUISIANA -­ John Frank Conrad, 95, of rural Clarksville, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at his family's farm in the Clarksville Corinth neighborhood.

Feb. 20, 1936 ­- Jan. 23, 2001
BOWLING GREEN -­ Bob Fry, 64, of Bowling Green, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Christian Northeast Hospital in St. Louis.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at Mount Zion Cemetery near Bowling Green.
The Rev. Terry Hopkins will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
Mr. Fry was born Feb. 20, 1936, in Silex to Frank and Virgil Mary Townsend Fry.
He was married to Betty Jean Hammett on Feb. 17, 1962, in Bowling Green. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert Fry Jr. of St. Paul, Minn., and Marty Fry of Bowling Green; one daughter, Diane Fry of Bowling Green; one grandson, Joshua Fry; and three sisters Melba Powell of St. George, Ga., Norma Waters of Apopka, Fla., and Ann Puckett of Burford, Ga.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Fry, David Fry and Harold Fry; and two sisters, Shirley Fry and Nora Lee Lynch.
Mr. Fry was raised in the Silex area and lived most of his life in Bowling Green.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending auctions.
Memorials may be made to the family of Bob Fry.
Pallbearers will be David Sherman, Ronnie Hurd, Les Hornal, Daniel Barnes, Jeffrey Lynch and Ross Niffen.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Henderson and Nelson Hainline.
Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green is in charge of the arrangements.

William H. (Bill) Richardson
Hannibal
Sept. 28, 1929 -­ Jan. 25, 2001
HANNIBAL -­ William H. (Bill) Richardson, 71, of Hannibal, died at 6:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, at his home in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Pastor Richard Ingmire will officiate.
Burial with military rites by the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55 will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Richardson was born Sept. 28, 1929, in Hannibal to Cecil H. and Wilhelmina Schulten Richardson.
He was married to Alice Jeanette Pestell on Oct. 12, 1956, in Hannibal. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Tia Rhodes of Hannibal; one son, Cecil (Buddy) Richardson of Hannibal; and five grandchildren, Trisha Davis, Lindsay Richardson, Eric Rhodes, Ashley Rhodes and Christina Richardson.
The family wishes to include that he is survived by two great-grandchildren, Tori Davis and Caden Davis.
He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church.
Mr. Richardson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Korea.
He was a past member and commander of the Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post 55.
He was a retired driver for the Mark Twain Beverage Company.
Pallbearers will be Mike Davis, Gregory Rhodes, Larry Carey, Butch Schulten, Mike Schulten and Rick Schulten.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Livingston and Bill Crenshaw.
Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.

Richard L. Logan

TROY ­- Richard L. Logan, 73, of O'Fallon, died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at the St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy.
The Rev. Edward J. Arle will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at West Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Topeka, Kan.
The Rev. John Hopkins will officiate during the graveside service.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Logan was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Putnam County to Cecil and Bessie (Leck) Logan.
He was married to Berniece L. Powers on March 2, 1952, in Dodge City, Kan. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Michele Christopherson of Troy; his mother of Newton, Iowa; one sister, Betty Pearson of Urbandale, Iowa; two stepdaughters, Mary Kay Soucy of Troy and Connie Smith of Lewis, Kan.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie Jean Logan; his father; and one brother, Clifford Logan.
Mr. Logan had worked as a lineman and station inspector for the Kansas City Power and Light Co.
Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
