Angela L. Riemen, 62, Harrisonville, died April 17, 2006. She was born Feb. 15, 1944, in Bonne Terre, the daughter of Lawrence and Clementine I. (Roux) Pierce.
Her family lovingly gives Angela to God.
Services were April 20 at Dickey Funereal Home, Harrisonville, with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Dale Wehmeyer
Sept. 23, 1935 - April 23, 2006
Raymond Dale Wehmeyer, 70, Creighton, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
He was born Sept. 23, 1935, near Creighton, the son of Robert Raymond and Ruth Lucille (Solomon) Wehmeyer.
Dec. 8, 1956, he married Mary Alice Vann in Urich.
Mr. Wehmeyer was a farmer and stockman.
He was a member of the Quick City Christian Church, the Creighton Fire Department and a board member of the Creighton Fire District, a board member of the Grant Cemetery Association and the Bogard Township Road Board.
He attended Creighton schools and was a lifelong area resident.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Mary A. Wehmeyer, of the home; a son, Steven Wehmeyer and wife, Tammy, Creighton; two daughters, Danita Wagoner and husband, Doug, Creighton, and Diana Richardson, Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Donna Borum, Creighton; three grandchildren; Josh, Brandon and Kaylon; other relatives and many friends.
Honorary casketbearers were Dave Atherton, Lee Meyer, Daryl Sloan, Floyd Turner and Roy Lee Wilson
Casketbearers were Brian Borum, Dee Borum, Gary Dechman, Doug Wagoner, Josh Wagoner and Brandon Wehmeyer.
Services were Wednesday, April 26, at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. John Kukovich officiating.
Burial was in Grant Cemetery near Creighton, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.

Cindy Elliott
Cindy Elliott, 23, Peculiar, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at Indian Meadows Nursing Home, Overland Park, Kan.
Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Robert Frank Getty
Aug. 25, 1942 - Nov. 9, 2003
Robert Frank Getty, 61, Raymore, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at his home.
He was born Aug. 25, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Lawrence George and Bridget “Sally” Ann (Amraen) Getty.
Mr. Getty grew up in the Freeman area and was a 1960 graduate of North Kansas City High School.
May 26, 1964, he married Jerri S. Gibbons at the Freeman Baptist Church, Freeman.
He was a lifelong Cass County resident.
He was an Air Force veteran and after his discharge in 1964, he worked as a K-9 officer with the Kansas City Police Department for six years.
In 1971, he became a union over-the-road truck driver, working for True Value, Elfrink and he retired from ABF Freight System in 2001.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 41 and the Teamsters Retiree Club.
Mr. Getty worked as a reserve officer for the Cass County Sheriff’s Office from 1985 to 1990 and was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Marilyn Hanes and Evelyn Briggs; a brother, Larry Getty; and a niece, Dale Ann Briggs Fugate.
Surviving are his wife, Jerri, of the home; a son, Russell Getty, Pleasant Hill; a daughter, Krista Eidson and her husband, Steven, Raymore; a niece and ex officio daughter, Kitty Ward, Statesville, N.C.; a brother, Richard Getty and his wife, Marilyn, Pomme de Terre; two sisters, Rita Wells and her husband, Daren, Independence, and Roberta Prettyman, Freeman; three sisters-in-law, JoAnn Carlson and husband, Ed, West Palm Beach, Fla., Patricia Garrison, Statesville, N.C., and Donna Stephens and husband, Joe, Danville, Ind.; six grandchildren, Andrew Eidson, Kelsey Eidson, Noah Eidson, Anthony Getty, Scott Getty and Ashley Getty; and many nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Wilber Briggs, Daren Wells, Homer Foote Jr., Orrin “Gary” Garrahan and Guy Adams.
Pallbearers were Geff Getty, Rob Briggs, John Briggs, Shane Getty, Pat Calhoun, Keith Cook, Ambrose “Al” Heimann and Mark Nay.
Services were Nov. 12 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Harold Gold and Dr. Phil Simcosky officiating.
Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Military honors were under the auspices of the Harrisonville Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities Hospice, 2200 Central Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102.

Eddie R. Handlen
April 20, 1938 - Nov. 11, 2003
Eddie R. Handlen, 65, Harrisonville, died Nov. 11, 2003 at his home. He was born April 20, 1938.
Funeral services were Nov. 15 at the Belton Assembly of God Church, Belton, under the direction of the Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit.
The family suggests contributions to the church.

Lynne Margaret Manes
Aug. 19, 1959 - Nov. 12, 2003
Lynne Margaret Manes, 44, Harrisonville, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at her home.
She was born Aug. 19, 1959, in St. Louis, the daughter of James Stevens and Margaret Cecelia (Burgee) Roth.
She grew up in St. Louis County.
She married William Manes on May 20, 1978.
She lived in Illinois from 1979 to 1986 and moved to Lee’s Summit in 1986 where she lived until moving to Harrisonville in 1998.
She was a member of the Lee’s Summit Christian Church, the Harrisonville Lady Elks and the American Quarter Horse Association.
She had worked for the Lee’s Summit School District as a cook for 10 years and for The Cass County Democrat-Missourian for three years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Ann Summers and Carol Roth.
Survivors include her husband, Bill and one son, Brian Manes, both of the home; one brother, James Roth and one sister, Pam Kelly, both of St. Louis, and her mother-in-law, LaVerne Manes, Imperial.
Services were Nov. 14, 2003, at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, with the Rev. Kyle Evans officiating.
Burial was in Brady Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Janet Allbaugh was the pianist and soloist Charles Sweet sang “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden.”
Pallbearers were Matthew Kelly, Harvey Summers, James Roth, Mark Mueller, Phil Engelbrecht and Ken Arns.
The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.

David Allen Saddoris
Feb. 25, 1980 - Nov. 12, 2003
David Allen Saddoris, 23, Osceola, died Nov. 12, 2003 at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah, Ga.
He was born Feb. 25, 1980, at Clinton, the son of David Wayne and FloEva (Fuller) Saddoris.
Funeral services were Nov. 18 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.

Lula Martha Lucinda Smith
July 14, 1901 - Nov. 13, 2003
Lula Martha Lucinda Smith, 102, Kansas City, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City.
She was born July 14, 1901, in Powersville, the daughter of Oliver M. and Susie Ann (Sibole) Draper.
She married Jack Smith on Feb. 22, 1927.
She had been a homemaker and was a member of the Austin Baptist Church and a past member of the Farm Bureau Extension Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; two sons, Allen and John Smith; one grandson, John Smith Jr.; one brother, C.W. Draper; and one sister, Birdie Koontz.
Survivors include a son, Carl E. Smith, Cassville; a daughter, Aline Walker, Kansas City; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Grandview, James Straw, Wayne Straw and Dale Smith, Kansas City, Suzanne Sanford, St. Louis, Brenda Peery, Peculiar, and Diana Smith and Michael Smith, Gunn City; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 15, 2003, at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Henry Green of the Cleveland Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar.
Musical selections included “What a Friend we Have in Jesus.”
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Straw and James Straw.
Pallbearers were Dale Smith, Mark Sanford, Ron Peery, Michael Smith, David McKee and Given Smith Jr.
The family suggests contributions to the Peculiar Cemetery Association.

Edith Irene Tribby

Edith Irene Tribby, 89, Harrisonville, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Golden Years Care Center, Harrisonville.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Unnewehr and husband, Don, and a grandson, Cheston E. Unnewehr and wife, Joanna, all of Harrisonville.
Services were Nov. 17, 2003, at the Atkinson Chapel Harrisonville, Burial in the Freeman Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
