Ava Brownell Young, 53, Garden City, died Aug. 17, 2006. He was born Oct. 27, 1952, in St. Louis, the son of Clarence Ellery and Wilma Faye (Berkebile) Young.
Cremation. Arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.

Ronald E. Beckman
Nov. 22, 1913 - Sept. 30, 2006
Ronald E. Beckman, 92, Overland Park, Kan., died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at Gables Assisted Living in Overland Park.
He was born Nov. 22, 1913, in Swampscott, Mass. He grew up in Swampscott, and also lived in Marathon and Bradenton, Fla.
He married Marjorie Darline Morrill at Fort Leonard Wood, Rolla, in 1944. She preceded him in death on June 18, 1976. He married Elsie “Ann” Bogner Sept. 2, 1979 in Lee’s Summit.
Mr. Beckman graduated from Swampscott High School in 1932 and served as chairman of his 25th and 50th high school reunions. He was employed by the manufacturing firm of New York, representing the MIT track team.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie, Overland Park, Kan.; two stepsons, John Bogner, Colorado Springs, Iowa; two stepdaughters, Cathy Winkler, Overland Park, Kan., and Lory King, Stover; eight step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and a cousin, George Witherall, Bradenton.
Memorial services were Oct. 5 at Christ Lutheran Church, Overland Park, Kan., with Pastor Jeff Meyers officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Gerald E. Bramble
March 1, 1929 - Sept. 29, 2006
Gerald E. Bramble, 77 Gar­den City, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at home. He was born March 1, 1929, in Kansas City, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (McLeod) Bramble.
Cremation, no services planned. Arrangements were under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harri­sonville.

Alice Margaret Brigham
March 23, 1924 - Sept. 27, 2006
Alice Margaret Brigham, 82, Harrisonville, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville.
She was born March 23, 1924, in Waycross, Ga., the daughter of James and Alice (Brooker) Stewart.
July 17, 1945, she married Charles Braun Brigham in Waycross.
Mrs. Brigham worked for Avon in Kansas City, from 1959 to 1967. She was a 50-year plus member of Harrisonville First Baptist Church.
Margaret’s hobbies included collecting Avon bottles and angels, flower gardens and tole painting.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles, on March 9, 1974; a son, Gary Brigham, on Dec. 7, 2001; eight brothers, Elmer, Ross, George, John C., Julius, Ray, Spencer and Murice; and two sisters, Mae and Ruth.
Surviving are two grandsons, Jason Brigham, Harrisonville, and Jeremy Brigham, Adrian; four great-grandchildren, Alex, Ashley, Andy and Anthony and special friends, Mary, Mar­vin and Jessica Robey, Harri­sonville.
Honorary casket bearers were Robert Cassody, Jessica Robey, Bill Cowan and Luke Scavuzzo.
Casket bearers were Marvin Robey, Jeremy Brigham, Jason Brigham, David Noble and Larry Schuster.
Services were Sept. 30 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Charles Sutton officiating.
Burial was in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville. Music was provided by Misti Gile.
Contributions can be made to Harrisonville First Baptist Church or Crossroads Hospice.

Zachary Allan Burton
Sept. 29, 1992 - Sept. 26, 2006
Zachary Allan Burton, 13, Harrisonville, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2006, in Harrisonville.
Zachary was born Sept. 29, 1992, in Lee’s Summit, the son of Robert Paul and Heather Renee (Sidebottom) Burton. He was an eighth grader at Harrisonville Middle School.
Zach’s hobbies included fishing, video games, skateboarding, four-wheeling and he was learning to play pool. He attended wrestling camp this past summer and was looking forward to wrestling at school this year.
Surviving are his mother, Heather Burton, and her significant other, Don Arthur, Harrisonville; two half brothers, Leo Dalton Arthur, and Eric Jacob Arthur; his maternal grandmother, Jeanne Sidebottom, Harrisonville; maternal grandfather, Charles Sidebottom; great-grandmother, Nadine Sidebottom, and uncle, Michael Sidebottom, Harrisonville.
Additional survivors include his father his father, Robert P. Burton, and stepmother, Miranda Burton; a half sister, Katy Marie Burton, Texas; four step-siblings, Cody Munroe Dickerson, James Michael Tye, Dakoda Tye and Theresa Tye, all of Pleasant Hill; his paternal grandfather, Larry Burton, Harrisonville; paternal grandmother, Audry Koechner, and husband, Carl, Carrollton; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Honorary casket bearers were Mikey Sidebottom, Leo Arthur, Eric Arthur, Adam Yohe, Jacob Hillman, Cody Dickerson, James Tye, Dakoda Tye, Katy Burton and Theresa Tye.
Memorial services were Sept. 30 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with the Rev. David Noble, Harrisonville, officiating.
Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Luella Mae Caldwell
June 8, 1928 - Oct. 2, 2006
Luella Mae Caldwell, 78, Louisburg, Kan., died Oct. 2, 2006.
She was born June 8, 1928, in Kansas City, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Hornbuckle) Woodrum.
Mrs. Caldwell grew up in the Louisburg area and graduated from Louisburg High School in 1946. She attended the University of Kansas for a short time.
March 13, 1949, she married Clark Caldwell at the Louisburg United Methodist Church. They raised their family on the same farmstead they lived on for 57 years.
Mrs. Caldwell was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors. She was very active in the Alumni Association.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Clark Caldwell, of the home in Cleveland; her son, Darrel Caldwell and his wife, Veronica, Madison, Ala., her daughter, Diana Moran, Kansas City; her grandchildren, Tiffany Hasson, St. Louis, and Patrick Moran, Kansas City; and cousins, Sterling Hornbuckle, Louisburg, and Grace Hornbuckle, Kearney.
Services were Oct. 5 at the Louisburg United Methodist Church.
Burial was in the Louisburg Cemetery, Louisburg, under the direction of Wilson & Son Funeral Home, Louisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the church and may be left at the Funeral Home.

Gayla Faye Cameron
Aug. 3, 1941 - Sept. 19, 2006
Gayla Faye Cameron, 65, Archie, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Golden Years Care Services in Harrisonville.
She was born Aug. 3, 1941, near Archie the daughter of John William and Maude Elizabeth (Switzer) Barnard.
Sept. 3, 1960, she married Donald Ray Cameron at the Austin Baptist Church in Austin.
Mrs. Cameron was employed for 14 years as a dietician for Cass Medical Center in Harrisonville until her retirement in 2003.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Archie. For many years she was an active member of the Unity Church.
Mrs. Cameron was a 1959 graduate of Archie High School and later attended William Jewell College in Liberty.
She was a lifelong area resident of the Austin Community near Archie.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Ted, Jimmy and Buddy Barnard; her sister, Avis Thomas; her sister-in-law, Dolly Barnard; and a nephew, Steve Brown.
Surviving are her husband, Don Cameron, of the home; three sons, Shane Cameron and wife, Terri, Harrisonville, Dale Cameron and wife, Vicky, Archie, and Danny Cameron, Archie; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin, Alexa and Eliza; and other relatives and many friends.
Honorary casket bearers were Wayne Hendrickson, John Kerrick, Guy King, Darrell Leavell, Clark Martin, C.E. Sliffe and Donald L. Smith.
Casket bearers were Allen Barnard, Dennis Barnard, Robin Barnard, Chuck Logue, Kermit Reeves and Wilbur Jones.
Services were Sept. 23 at the United Methodist Church, Archie, with the Rev. Travis James officiating. Gerry Foote was the organist.
Burial was in the Austin Cemetery near Archie under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Church Memorial Fund.

Charles William Clark
Feb. 19, 1930 - Sept. 23, 2006
Charles William Clark, 76, Pleasant Hill, died Sept. 23, 2006. He was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Marshall, the son of Charles Claude and Susan K. (King) Clark.
Services were Sept. 26 with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.
