Emert Charlton McClung
Nov. 9, 1910 - Sept. 22, 2006
Emert “Brub” Charlton McClung, 79, Mt. Nebo, formerly of Harrisonville, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006.
He was born March 23, 1927, in Quinwood, the son of Cecil and Anna (Orndorff) McClung.
Mr. McClung was a toolmaker by trade, but his love was farming. He also loved teaching Sunday school. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and attended the Buckhorn United Methodist Church of Buckhorn.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Shirley McClung; and a sister, Wilma Fleener.
Survivors include his wife, Janie McClung, of the home; three daughters, Jan McClung, Garden City, Carmel Tabaretti, St. Albans, and Debra Storz, Adams, Neb.; two sisters, Leora McClung, Elkview, and Celesta Swartz, Leivasy; two brothers, Rannie McClung and the Rev. Tim McClung, both of Mt. Nebo; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 30 at the Buckhorn United Methodist Church in Buckhorn with Pastor Garlin Groves and Pastor Ron Crum officiating.
Burial will be in the Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery at Carl under the direction of the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Vibe Youth c/o Kings River Worship Center, 777 Mallory Lane, St. Albans, WV 25701.

Kenneth W. Morrow
Feb. 7, 944 - Sept. 26, 2006
Kenneth W. Morrow, 62, Clinton, formerly of the Magnolia community, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.
He was born Feb. 7, 1944, near Magnolia, the son of John Charles and Audrey Beatrice (Whitfield) Morrow.
Mr. Morrow graduated from Holden High School in 1962 and had attended Magnolia Methodist Church in his youth.
He was a crew chief in the Missouri National Guard.
July 3, 1966, he married Kristine Holger.
Mr. Morrow was a farmer and cattleman and was a machinist for Stahl Specialty Company in Kingsville for 22 years, retiring in December 2005.
Surviving are his wife, Kristine Morrow, of the home; two sons, Matthew Morrow and wife, Kimberly K., Garden City, and Brad Morrow and wife, Kimberly D., Holden; two sisters, Carolyn Helton and husband, Don, and Beverly Raker, and Husband, Kenneth, all of Holden; two sisters-in-law, Karin Dawson, Leavenworth, Kan., and Kimberly Willcockson, Holden; a granddaughter, Brittany Morrow, Holden; and several nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers were John Pieron, Jerry Marr, Mac Greene, Kenny Kirby, Dennis Gillroy and Tony Compton.
Services were Sept. 30 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Pastor Scott Walker officiating.
Burial was in the Holden Cemetery under the direction of the Williams Funeral Chapel.
The family suggests memorial be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and may be left at the Williams Funeral Chapel.

Lloyd King Parris
Aug. 19, 1925 - Sept. 29, 2006
Lloyd King Parris, 81, Harrisonville, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville.
He was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Pleasant Hill, the son of John King and Grace May (Foreaker) Parris.
June 12, 1989, he married Iva Jones.
Mr. Parris was a farmer and also worked for Limpus and Apec Quarry as a dump truck driver for 21 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Gunn City. He was a lifelong area resident.
Surviving are his wife, Iva, of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Danforth and her husband, Rodger, Harrisonville; a sister, Della Bradley, Harri­sonville; two grandchildren, Dan­iel and Heather Danforth, Harrisonville; nieces and neph­ews, other relatives and friends.
Honorary casket bearers were Ernie York, Tom Faulkenberry, Marvin Cochran, Jarrett Hawley, Raymond Hawley and Richard Hawley.
Casket bearers were Daniel Danforth, Ryan Staley, Brandon Staley, David Staley, David Warren and William Baker.
Services were Oct. 2 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with the Rev. Tim Redding officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Robert “Bob” Price
Oct. 3, 2006
Ret. Sgt. Robert “Bob” Price, 74, Pleasant Hill, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at St. Luke’s Hos­pital, Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 7 at the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the MASTERS (Missouri Association State Troopers Emergency Relief Services) and may be left at the funeral home.

Stephen D. Roadcap
Feb. 19, 1952 - Sept. 27, 2006
Stephen Dale Roadcap, 54, Kan­sas City, died Sept. 27, 2006.
He was born Feb. 19, 1952, in Kansas City, the son of Millard and Elizabeth (Hassler) Roadcap.
Cremation. Services are at 1 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Atkinson Chap­el, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Adrian.

Audrey May Rushly
Feb. 24, 2006 - Sept. 27, 2006
Audrey May Rushly infant daughter of Jonathan Matthew and Naomi K (Anderson) Rushly of Holden was born Feb. 24, 2006, at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri.
She departed this life, Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at her home near Holden at the age of 7 months and 3 days.
Preceding her in death were her paternal grandmother, Loretta Rushly; her paternal great-grandparents, Robert “Bob” Edwards and Rolla and May Rushly; her maternal great-grandparents, Jim Atkins and Mary Anderson.
Surviving are her parents; three brothers, Jacob, Thomas and Morgan Rushly, all of the home; her paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Ron and Rachel Rushly, Harrisonville; her maternal grandparents, Bill and Ruth Anderson, Edwards; her paternal great-grandmother, Raylene Edwards, East Lynne; her paternal step-great-grandmother, Wanita Humphrey, Hardin, Mont.; her maternal great-grandmother, Barbara Atkins, Mountain View, Ark.; her maternal great-grandfather, Jerry Anderson, Coalinga, Calif.; and numerous aunts, uncles; other relatives and many friends.
Casket bearers were Bill Anderson and Ron Rushly.
Services were Oct. 2, at the Dickey Funeral Home in Garden City, with the Rev. Kenneth Steckly officiating.
Burial was in the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.

Glinda Jean Sims
May 21, 1947 - Sept. 27, 2006
Glinda Jean Sims, 59, Harrisonville, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at her home.
She was born May 21, 1947, in Kansas City, the daughter of Ralph and Imogene (Hopkins) Anderson.
She was a 1965 graduate of Harrisonville High School.
Sept. 30, 1964, she married Daniel H. Sims.
Mrs. Sims was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Garden City. She was a homemaker and a lifelong area resident.
Preceding her in death were her father, Ralph Anderson, and her stepfather, Jim Roberts.
Surviving are her husband, Daniel, of the home; a son, Duane Sims, Bellevue, Neb.; two daughters, Jeanna Catena and Joanna Brizendine, both of Harrisonville; her mother, Imogene Roberts, Harrisonville; two brothers, Jim Roberts and Danny Roberts, both of Harrisonville; a stepbrother, Johnny Anderson, Stockton; three stepsisters, Dixie Harper, Kansas City, Cathy Braden and Patti Wood, both of Collins; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Casket bearers were Danny Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Darren Roberts, Josh Donegan, Jason Ekstrom and Mike Brizendine.
Services were Sept. 30 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harri­sonville, with Pastor George Geesee officiating. Music was provided by Ronda Sweet.
Burial was in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Contributions can be made to the church.

Twylah Nadine Brown
Aug. 6, 1932 - Oct. 13, 2006
Twylah Nadine (Duncan) Brown, 74, Kenbridge, Va., died Oct. 13, 2006, in South Hill, Va., after a 10-year courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Freeman, the daughter of Harold and Faye (Jones) Duncan.
Mrs. Brown was a 1950 graduate of Freeman High School. She married Jerald Brown on Nov. 30, 1957.
Mrs. Brown moved to California in 1955 where she worked for Rockwell International before retiring in 1989. She moved to Virginia in 1994. She was a member of the Freeman Christian Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jerald, in 1992; and a sister, Maxine Payne.
Surviving are two daughters, Denise McClure and her husband, Glen, Cypress, Texas, and Jeriellen Lapoint and her husband, David, Huntington Beach, Calif.; a son, Bill Brown and his wife, Denise, Porter, Maine; two sisters, Nina Jean Adams and her husband, Elton, Freeman, and Juanita Wilburn, Independence; one aunt, Wilma Jones, Lee’s Summit; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her good friend, Tom Richardson, Kenbridge; and many nieces, nephews and cousins that will miss her very much.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville.
A memorial service will be follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Henry Green.
Inurnment will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association.
