MARCELLA PETTENGILL
GOLDEN CITY - Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Omer Cemetery for Marcella Pettengill, 78, Golden City, who died at 11:32 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Lakeview Healthcare Facility, Lamar, after a short illness.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Survivors include four sons, Calvin Pettengill, Carthage, Butch Pettengill, Lockwood, Dwayne Pettengill, Wheaton and David Pettengill, Henderson, Nev.; three daughters, Martha Pettengill and Anna Brewer, Golden City, and Debra Tharp, Whitehouse, Tenn.; two brothers, Jack Robbins, Rosebud, Ark. and Frank Robbins, Waterloo, Iowa; a sister, Ruby Lee, Port City, Iowa; 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pettengill was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Birch Tree, to Walter and Vincie Lynn (Brown) Ribbons.
She had been a resident of Golden City since 1995, having moved from Stockton.
She was a homemaker.
She married Hurley Pettengill on April 13, 1946, in Polk County, Iowa. He died Sept. 11, 1988.

WILMER JOHN RENTSCH
LAMAR - Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Lohmeyer-Konantz Chapel, for Wilmer John Rentsch, 92, Lamar, who died Sept. 29, 2003, at Lakeview Healthcare Center, Lamar.
Rev. Robb Hodson officiated.
Burial was in Liberal City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
Pallbearers were members of the Fisherman’s Class, First Baptist Church, Lamar.
Musical selections were taped versions of "How Great Thou Art" and "I’d Rather Have Jesus".

FREDA LENORE REAGAN
SEATTLE, Wash. - Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park Chapel, for Freda Lenore Reagan, 79, who died Sept. 17, 2003, in Burien.
Burial was in Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Paul E. Reagan; four daughters, Anita Smith, Valerie Smith, Jonni Gabel and Sue Contor; a son, Robert Smith; a grandson, Donald James Rust; two sisters, Beulah Roe Estes and Dana Dean McCormick; a half-sister, Vera Randall, Gardner, Kan., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bayne I. Donalson; a half sister, Sylvia Schubert and two half brothers, Emmit Donalson and Ralph Donalson.
Mrs. Reagan was born March 10, 1924, in the Bushnell community of Barton County, Mo., to William "Bill" and Bertha (Faurot) Donalson.
She was a 1941 graduate of Lamar High School.

THOMAS E. HEWITT, JR.
METZ - A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, Nevada, for Thomas E. Hewitt, Jr., 32, Metz, who died Sept. 30, 2003, near La Center, Ky.
Father Eugene C. Carr will officiate.
Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas E. Hewitt Jr. Memorial Fund, in care of Metz Bank.
Survivors include a daughter, Ashley Nicole Hewitt, Nevada; his father, Thomas E. Hewitt Sr., New York; his stepfather and stepmother, Gary and Penny Reichard, Metz; four sisters and a brother of New York; three step-sisters; his step-grandmother, Grace D. Reichard, Metz, and a step-aunt, Tami Shores, Metz.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Hewitt.
Mr. Hewitt was born July 18, 1971, in Syracuse, N.Y., to Thomas E. and Sandra (Gurniak) Hewitt Sr.
He was employed as a truck driver.

DOROTHY L. LONG
MULBERRY, Kan. - Services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday), at Apostolic Church in Mulberry, for Dorothy L. Long, 93, Mulberry, who died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Cornerstone Village, Pittsburg, after a lengthy illness.
Burial will be in Rosebank Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include three sons, Robert, Norman and Ron Long; three daughters, Freda Pallucci, Mavis Willey and Sharon Mitchell; a brother, Tom Whetzell; two sisters, Leona Chamberlain and Mary Hanshaw; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Earl and Harold Long; two brothers, Raymond and James Whetzell; four sisters, Margie Whetzell, Sylvia Keltsch, and Ruth and Maggie Albertson, and two grandchildren, Dane and Deborah Long.
Mrs. Long was born Nov. 8, 1910, in McCormack, to James and Frances (Greek) Whetzell.
She was a lifetime area resident, having moved from Croweburg in her childhood.
She was a retired certified nurse aide, working 17 years at Medicalodge North.
She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Liberal, Mo., and a member of Mulberry Apostolic Church in Mulberry.
She married Elbert "Jack" Long on Dec. 30, 1928, in Pleasanton.
He died May 21, 1956.

RUTH JONES
WEBB CITY - Services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Saturday) at Calvary Baptist Church for Ruth Geneva Jones, 82, Webb City, who died at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at a local nursing center.
Dr. Phillip McClendon will officiate.
Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery, Jasper.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Hospice.
Survivors include a son, Richard Jones and wife Diana, Woodbridge, Va., and her lifetime companion, Grant Blackman.
Mrs. Jones was born April 2, 1921, in Oilton, Okla., to Otto and Frankie (Miller) Bunch.
She had resided in the Joplin area since 1976.
She was a cosmetologist instructor and a 50 year member of Mt. Hope Chapter No. 74, Order of Eastern Star, Lamar.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Stedfast Sunday School class.

NORMAN LANE HEISKELL
GOLDEN CITY - Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, at First Baptist Church, Golden City, for Norman Lane Heiskell, 48, who died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, as a result of a pulmonary embolism.
Rev. Kenneth Musgrove will officiate.
Burial will be in Dudenville Cemetery, south of Golden City.
Pallbearers will be Tony Peterson, Mark Heiskell, Tony Probert, Mike Heiskell, Henry Lopez, Norville Teel, Ronnie Tucker, and Brenton Hendricks.
Music will be provided by Sarina Heiskell, soloist and accompanist, and Dwane Jenkins, soloist.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pugh Funeral Home, Golden City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice, in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Paula Heiskell and three children, Dustin Lane, 21, Charissa Ann, 16, and Aaron Dale, 13, all of the home; his parents, Norman and Effie Mae Heiskell; four sisters, Geneva Heiskell, Springfield, and Cindy Smith, Janice Frazier and Lisa Sikes, all of Neosho; a brother, Kevin Heiskell, Jerico Springs, and his mother-in-law, Jean Pfander, Lamar. Mr. Heiskell was born April 1, 1955, in Lamar, to Norman Dale and Effie Mae (Duncan) Heiskell.
He had resided in the Golden City community for most of his life.
He was a 1973 graduate of Golden City High School.
At the time of his death he was co-owner/manager of the Golden City Foundry, Inc., where he had been employed for 29 years.
He was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Lamar.
He married Paula Ann Aman on Nov. 19, 1977.
