MARIE M. (WARD) BRAKE
Marie (Ward) Brake was born April 13, 1919 in Shannon County, MO the daughter of Henry and Addaline Keeling Ward. She passed away on December 21, 2006 in West Plains, MO at the age of 87.
She was united in marriage to Henry Brake on September 19, 1936 in Alton, MO. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Birch Tree, MO.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband; three sons; one daughter; her parents; one sister; one grandson and one great grandson..
She is survived by seven children, Lorene and Bill Woolford, Judy and Eddie Davis, Earline and Bill Pierce, Shirley and Bill Mills, Billy E. and Clara Brake, George and Elsie Brake, Donnie and Elaine Brake; one sister, Pauline Brake of Birch Tree, MO; twenty-one grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Mildred was a Certified Nurses Aide and loved working at The Birch Tree Place. She also loved to play the piano, quilt, do ceramics, crochet and work in her flower garden. To mom, her family came first.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Birch Tree, MO with Pastor Aaron Davis officiating. Interment was in Corinth Cemetery in Birch Tree, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, MO.
Ida will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial services were held Friday December 15, 2006 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, MO with Michael Dillinger officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View, MO.

Allen Jay Gross
Allen Jay Gross (Jake) the son of the late James Wesley Gross and Bettye June Taber Gross was born May 8, 1960 at Harrison, Arkansas. Jake passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, MO, Friday, December 15, 2006 making his age 46 years 7 months and 7 days.
Jake was united in marriage to Janet Marie Powell, on July 7, 1978, at Arroll, MO, making their union together 28 years, 5 months and 8 days. To their union, they were blessed with one son Jacob Austin and one daughter Jessica Renee.
He was a member of the Laborers Local 840 for over 20 years where he worked construction. He was currently working for JLA Construction Company in Springfield, MO. Jake was saved at an early age and he and his family attended Valley Center Baptist Church. He loved nothing more than spending time with his two precious grandchildren, Tyler Ray and Sarah Sue and taking them to church. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved hunting and fishing. He was an excellent woodworker and he enjoyed working on and painting old cars with his son, Jakie.
Preceding Jake in death are his father James, his mother Bettye, his maternal grandparents, Herschell and Pauline Taber, his aunt Reba Taber, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Norman and Marie Powell.
Jake leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife Janet Gross of Hartshorn, MO; his son Jakie Gross of Hartshorn, MO; his daughter Jessica Gross and Curtis Durham of Houston, MO; one brother David Gross and wife Kay of Sulphur Rock, Arkansas; one sister Pat Hamilton of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Tyler Gross of Houston, MO, and Sarah Purcell of Raymondville, MO; two sisters-in-laws, Brenda Newby and husband Leonard of Yukon, MO; Sharon Cook and husband Bernie of Hartshorn, MO; three brothers-in-laws, Larry Powell and wife Pam of Summersville, MO; Mike Powell and wife Joyce of Huntsville, MO; and Dwayne Powell of Moberly, MO. He is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews and 17 great-nieces and nephews and two great aunts, Geneva Ralston of Mountain View, MO; and Juaneta Bradford of Clear Springs, MO; and one special aunt Anna Childress.
Jake was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked. He touched many lives and will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.
Services were held Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at 10:00 Am at the Valley Center Baptist Church in Hartshorn with Rev. Van Kirkwood officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville

William Clinton Ferguson
William Clinton Ferguson was born April 12, 1919, the son of Everett and Edith (Jennings) Ferguson and passed away August 2, 2006 at Birch Tree Mo. at the age of 87 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Stella Cooper and Doris Martin and one grandson Paul Ferguson.
He is survived by two sons, Jerry Ferguson and wife Janet of Raymore, Mo. and Randy Ferguson of Eminence, one daughter Rhonda Ferguson of Salem, Mo. Five grandchildren, Jerry Ferguson, John Ferguson, Stacey Hatfield, Chelsea Wofford and Rebecca Wofford.

Clement Paul Bays
Clement Paul Bays was born September 1,1962 to Raymond Charles Bays and Shelby Jean (Jones) Bays in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He passed away August 3 2006 in St Louis, Mo at the age 43 years.
Paul is survived by his parents Raymond Charles and Shelby Jean Bays of Eminence, son Paul Bays of St Louis Mo; two daughters Shelly and Rhonda Bays, both of St Louis MO., two brothers, Charles Bays and wife Linda of Desoto, Mo Chauncey "Chance" Bays and wife Robin, of Eminence, four nieces, Amanda Bays, Nichole Bays, Nora Bays, and Jamie Becker, and one nephew, Dustin Bays; and four grandchildren.
Paul will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

DAKOTA JAMES KING
Dakota James King was born June 26, 2004, in West Plains, Missouri the son of Ronnie and Tonie Elliott King.
He passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the age of 2 years, 11 months, and 21 days.
Dakota enjoyed spending his days playing with his older brother, Dalton, and visiting his Mema’s and Papa’s.
Most of all, Dakota loved to ride the four-wheeler and play with his tractors.
Dakota is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Tonie King and brother, Dalton, of Mountain View, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Carol King of Arroll, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Larry “Fats” and Joni Elliott of Birch Tree, Missouri and David “Punkie” and Wilma Stevenson of Mountain View; maternal great-grandmother, Lorene Moore of Birch Tree, Missouri; several aunts and uncles, Scottie and Shannon Elliott, Bear and Amanda Elliott, Punkie Stevenson, and Richard King all of Mountain View; Katie and Chris Triplett of Birch Tree, Missouri, Shawn and Tony Charley of Smithville, Tennessee, Misti Snowden of Branson, Missouri and Brandi and Shane Tipton of Harrison, Arkansas; and a host of cousins.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Audra King and aunt, Samantha Elliott.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Yarber Mortuary with Pastor Brian Ingalls officiating. Burial was in Grace Cemetery, Mountain View, Missouri under the direction of Yarber Mortuary.

Caiden Mikel
(April 12, 2007 - June 7, 2007)
Infant Caiden Mikel, 2 months old, passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2007 in Troy, Mo. He was born on April 12, 2007 in Fairbanks, Alaska, a son of Brian and Ashley (Blair) Mikel. Surviving are his beloved parents; 1 brother: Jackson Mikel, 1 sister: Kylie Mikel; his paternal grandparents: Curtis (Debborah) Mikel of Eminence, Mo., his great-grandparents: Nora Shedd of Eminence, Mo. and Pat (James) Williamson of High Ridge, Mo.; his maternal grandparents: Sherry Blair of Winfield, great-grandparents: Gary (Pat) Thies of O'Fallon, Mo. and great-grandmother: Clemie Blair of St. Charles, Mo.; 2 aunts: Brittany Blair and Dawnyell Mikel; 2 uncles: Cameron Blair and Samuel Shedd-Moore; cousins; great-cousins; and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Howard Blair Jr.; his maternal great-grandfather: Howard Blair Sr.; and his paternal great-grandfather: Carlos Mikel. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the McCOY-BLOSSOM FUNERAL HOME, 1304 Boone St., Troy, Mo. 63379 tele #636-528-8244. Interment will follow in the Thornhill Cemetery, Troy, Mo. Memorials may be made to the Mikel Childrens Education Fund c/o the funeral home. The visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Donald Dwayne Bailey
Donald Dwayne Bailey, the son of Marvin James Bailey and Doris Jean Smith Bailey was born in Summersville, Missouri, March 6, 1949. Donald passed away at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, Saturday, June 16, 2007 making his age 58 years.
Donald grew up in the Eunice and Summersville areas. He worked as a laborer on local farms helping with cattle and doing general farm chores for many years.
Donald served in the United States Army for 8 years and 9 months, serving from August 12, 1966 to May 20, 1975.
Preceding Donald in death are his parents, Marvin and Doris Bailey; and one sister Sharon Bailey.
Those left to mourn his passing are his 4 children, Valerie Nygaard and Steven of River Falls, Wisconsin; Marcia Hamill and James of Anderson, Missouri; Billy Bailey and wife Honee of Licking, Missouri; and Marla Rhodes of Mountain Grove, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, three sisters, Brenda Scott and Glenn of Red Feather Lake, Colorado; Patrisha Madera and Mike of La Pine, Oregon; and Tressa Geraldine Russell of Willow Springs, Missouri; three brothers, Ronnie Bailey of Eunice, Missouri; Mike Russell of Paris, Texas; and Billy Russell and Rita of Longview, Texas. Donald is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Grave Side Services were held Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 11:00 Am at Union Chapel Cemetery near Eunice, MO. Interment was in Union Chapel Cemetery with full Military Rites under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

Mildred Florence Smith
Mildred Florence Smith was born March 27, 1933 at Hartshorn, MO the daughter of Zachariah Herbert Smith and Ada Florence (Cox) Smith. She passed away June 16, 2007 at Mountain View, MO at the age of 74 years.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers Walter Smith, Clinton Smith, and Charles Smith and 1 sister Eula (Smith) Murfin.
Mildred is survived by 3 brothers Virgil Smith of Summersville, MO, Vernon Smith and wife Marlene of Meadville, MO and Arthur Smith and wife Delores of Sonoma, CA; 1 sister Velma Wallace of Villa Ridge, MO; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Mildred lived her life in the Hartshorn and Summersville area. She attended school in the area and graduated from Summersville High School. Mildred was very family oriented and spent many years as a care giver to her mother, father and then her oldest brother. She was interested in family genealogy, and she knew everyone in the community and kept track of their birthdays and family connections. Mildred loved to sing and play the piano. Going to church was a big part of her life. She was a member of the Hartshorn Church of Christ until she began attending the Summersville Church of Christ in the last few years. Mildred was a loving aunt and sister. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Summersville, MO at 10:00 am with Dwain Stoops and Thomas Dennis officiating. Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery at Hartshorn, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Summersville, MO.
