Joe Carman
Joe Carman, 76, Seneca, Died at 7:10 pm, Friday, January 2, 2004 at his home after a long illness.
Joe was born March 1, 1927 the son of Tom and Vinnie Carman in Neosho, MO. Joe worked as a Terminal Manager for Buske Lines in Seneca. He was a member of the Neosho Lodge #247, Neosho, MO, York Rites of Free masonry 32 degree and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine, Springfield, MO.
He married Ila Mae Linton in 1946 and she survives.
Additional survivors include: one son – Dennis Carman and wife Anita, Excelsior Springs, MO; one daughter – Debbie Carman White and husband Keith, Joplin, MO; two sisters – Arlene Alexander, Innsbrook, MO and Joyce Wyler, Ottawa, KS; three grandchildren – Ian Carman, Caleb Carman and Cory Plummer.
Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, January 5, at the Seneca Christian Church with Rev. Keith Jackson and Dan Wohlenhaus officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with, Howard Woodward, Gene Cobble, Charles Devin, Bob Brite, Nolen Cope and Eric Decker, serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Francis Buzzard, Charles Cook, George Fleetwood, Clifford Ackerson, Darrel Hockett, Jim Moreland and Mark Bennett.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriner’s Criple Childrens Travel Fund or Community Hospice in care of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, PO Box 380, Seneca, MO. 64865

William “Bill” C. Ulmer
William “Bill” C. Ulmer, 92, Seneca died at 10:04 PM, Thursday, January 07, 2004 at Freeman West Hospital after a long illness.
Bill was born June 24, 1911 in Oronogo, MO the son of William C. and Ruby Ulmer. He worked as a lineman for the Pioneer Electric Company for years retiring in 1978. He had also worked in the Navy ship yards and was of the Methodist Faith.
Bill married Mary Lucille Cook August 29, 1935 in Pineville, MO and she preceded him in death June 5, 1998.
Survivors include: One brother – Robert Ulmer, Scott Mills, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma City after an illness.
Gene was born in Tulsa Oklahoma City.
Survivors include his mother Vonna Hawkins and step father Jim Hawkins: three brothers: Corky Hawkins, Joplin, Gary Hawkins, Seneca and Steven Hawkins, St. Joseph, MO; four sisters, Melissa Ruckman and Amy Hawkins both of Joplin, Rachael Hawkins, Neosho and Angela McCracken, State of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his father Onis Gene Bussell Sr.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 19, 2004 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel with John St Clair officiating. Burial will be in the Hornet Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Henry “Hank” Geasland
Henry “Hank” Geasland, 86, rural Seneca, died at 4:00 am Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at his home after an illness.
Hank was born September 20, 1917 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of William and Mammie Geasland. He had live in the Seneca area 46 years. He was a WW II Army Veteran serving as a medic at Normandy Beach and the Battle of the Bulge. Hank was a retired farmer, a member of Hart Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir and a former Mason.
Hank married Doris B. Beutler, February 4, 1948 in Tulsa, OK and she survives.
Additional survivors include: One son; Frank H. Geasland, Goodman, MO and one daughter: Doris Ann Mills, Seneca. One brother Vernon Geasland, Owassa, OK: six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; Ray, Lee and Ellis and two sisters; Minnie Simons and Elizabeth Geasland.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Hart Baptist Church with Pastor John Rose officiating. Burial will be in the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery with grandsons; Richard Speer, Fred Mills, Randy Wetzel, John Whitehead, Larry Bevans and Frank Geasland serving as pallbearers. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 163, Neosho
The family will receive friends at the home - 3149 Klondike Rd, Seneca from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday.

Genevieve D. East
Genevieve D. East, 90, Seneca, MO. passed away at 6:15 AM, February 14, 2004 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after an illness.
Genevieve was born March 8, 1913 in Fort Smith, Arkansas the daughter of John and Hattie Caudle. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca.
She married Milton A. East Sr. in Fort Smith, Arkansas in June of 1932 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include: One son; Milton A. East Jr., Tulsa, OK: Three daughters; Beverly Webb, Seneca, Patricia Nicholson, Buffalo, MO and Nancy Lamberson, Arizona. Nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
Genevieve was preceded in death by three sisters; Stella Caudle, Greta Buell and Rose Howard and one brother, Herbert Caudle.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2004 at the Campbell- Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Snow officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery family members will serve as pallbearers.
Viewing will begin Wednesday at 9:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Society or American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home.

Edith M. Lankford
Edith M. Lankford, 95, Seneca passed away at 10:35 AM, February 15, 2004 at Freeman Neosho Hospital after a short illness.
Edith was born August 24, 1908 the daughter of John Henry and Minnie Lee Beavers in Leslie Arkansas. She had lived in the Seneca area all of her life and was a homemaker. Edith was a member of Swars Prairie Church of Christ south of Seneca.
She married Corum Loyd Lankford, July 1, 1931 and he preceded her in death September 14, 1994.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews. One brother-in-law James Lester Lankford, Seneca and two sister-in-laws; Retha Reynolds, Neosho and Corda Lankford, Seneca.
Edith was preceded in death by one daughter Nancy Lee Lankford in December 20, 1946.
Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at the Swars Prairie Church of Christ with James Lankford and Ronald Lankford officiating. Burial will be in the Swars Prairie Church of Christ Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the Seneca Relay for Life in care of the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of Patty West, 4259 Penny Lane, Seneca, MO
