Glenda Wooten Irby, 54, of Atkins died Feb. 1 at her home.
Funeral services were held Feb. 3, 2003, at Lemley Funeral Home Chapel in Atkins with burial in the Atkins City Cemetery.
Survivors include: her husband, Carl Irby of Atkins; daughters, Elizabeth Irby and Judy Irby, both of Atkins; mother, Idelle Wooten of Canton; sister, Ida Nell Wooten of Canton; grandmother, Eunice Wells of Canton; and three nieces and one nephew.

Elnora C. Howard

Elnora C. Howard, 79, of Canton died Feb. 7, 2003, at Madison County Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Feb. 8 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Oddfellows Cemetery in Green wood. Breeland Funeral Home of Canton handled arrangements.
Survivors include: sons, Louis Howard and James Howard, both of Canton, and Al Howard of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Gracie Howard of Canton; grandchildren, Ali Howard, Carley Howard, Amber Howard, Wesley Howard, Drew Howard and Paige Howard. She is also survived by one brother and five sisters.
Joseph Thompson Sr., 94, of Canton died Feb. 4, 2003, at Madison County Medical Center in Canton.
Funeral services were held Feb. 8 at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Gluckstadt with burial in the Seymour Cemetery. Peoples Undertaking Co. of Canton handled arrangements.
Survivors include: his wife, Isabell Thompson Jr., McClellon Texas, and Walter R. Payne of Colo., Johnny Castle of Hendersonville, N.C.; sisters, Judy Gordon of Houston, Jennifer Biggs of Portland, Ore.; and three step-grandchildren.

Nancy A. Jeffcoats, 90, of Vidor, Texas; daughter, Mary J. Hitchcock of Vidor, Florida; and 15 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
