Hannah I. Schmidt
Hannah I. Schmidt, 81, of Gluckstadt died Jan. 27, 2003, at the Home Place in Madison.
Funeral services were held Feb. 5 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt with burial in the church cemetery. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland handled arrangements.
Survivors include: daughters, Judith Lynn Hutchinson and husband Ron, and Emaly Jane Tucker and husband Bill, all of Gluckstadt; grandchildren, Patrick Grower, Ann Ruth Tucker, Lee Hutchinson and Ellen Hutchinson, all of Gluckstadt; sisters, Celeste Richard of Brobridge, La., and Ruby Gass of Laurel; and brothers, Jay Ishee of Stringer and Bernell Ishee of Mt. Olive.
Sonia Speir Haydu
Sonia Speir Haydu, 37, of Brandon died Feb. 2, 2003, at her sister's home in Byram.
Services were held Feb. 4 at First Baptist Church in Brandon with burial in Glenwood Cemetery in Richland.
Survivors include: husband, George K. Haydu III of Brandon; sons, Walter Jerald Shaw III and Dylan Bailey Shaw, both of Brandon; mother, Rosemary Speir of Clinton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nita and Phillip Blankenship of Birmingham, Linda and Don Barker of Madison, Marsha and Lamar Pickard, and Patsy and Kirby Brewer, all of Hazlehurst, and Brenda and Garry Moran of Byram.

James Dansby Wall, 80, of Woodstock, Ga., and formerly of Canton, died Jan. 11, 2003, at his home.
Graveside services will be held Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Canton City Cemetery. The Rev. Andrew Hoffecker will officiate.
Survivors include: wife, Marilyn Wiggins Wall of Woodstock, Ga.; son, Danny Wall and wife Pam of Roswell, Ga.; daughter, Kathi Fly and husband Gregg of Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren, Charlie Wall, Lora Wall, Jenny Phillipoff, all of Roswell, Ga., Jacqueline Smith and husband Abe of Birmingham, Bryan Fly, Kelly Fly and Ben Fly, all of Woodstock, Ga.
Edward Earl Allen
Edward Earl Allen, 81, of Ridgeland died Jan. 23, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Jan. 25 at First Baptist Church in Ridgeland. Nowell-Flippin Funeral Home of Ridgeland handled arrangements.
Survivors include: wife, Dr. Frances Allen of Ridgeland; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Allen and Joy of McKinney, Texas; daughters, Terri Allen Higdon and husband Robert of Richland, and Dr. Mardi Allen of Brandon; sisters, Pauline Chance, Elizabeth Lee and Alice Smith, all of Natchez, Jean Boyte of Brookhaven, Shirley Fulgham of Georgetown and Linda Myers of Bovina; and brother, Jimmie Allen of Natchez.
He is also survived by grandchildren Scott Higdon and wife Jamie of Richland, Chase Allen and wife Stephanie of Indianapolis, Ind., Jennifer Pickett and husband Lee of Richland, and Chelsea Allen and Channing Allen, both of McKinney, Texas.
Mary James Cole
Mary James Cole, 55, of Gulfport, a former Canton resident, died Jan. 17, 2003, in Gulfport.
Graveside services were held Jan. 22 in the Biloxi Veterans Administration Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include: son, the Rev. Taronta Atonnie Fredrick Cole of Gulfport; daughter, Tamera Michelle Cole of Gulfport; sisters, Onie Lee Powell of Jackson and Myrtle Taylor of Gulfport; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three nieces, five nephews and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
Kathryn Steen Tullos
Kathryn Steen Tullos, 77, of Ridgeland died Jan. 25, 2003, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28 at Nowell-Flippin Funeral Home Chapel in Ridgeland with burial in Natchez Trace Memorial Park.
Survivors include: daughters, Dot Adams and husband Len of Ocean Springs, and Becky Jenkins and husband, George of Gluckstadt; son, Bobby Tullos and wife Lucy of Braxton; sisters, Bernice Lowe, Lois Blaine and Lorene Odom, all of Kosciusko, Mamie Brown of Slidell, La., and Evelyn McBride of Durant; brother, Douglas Steen of Crossett, Ark.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Grace Hill McNeer, 71, of Canton, died Jan. 26, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Survivors include: sons, Ricky McNeer of Jackson and Rodney McNeer of Sandhill; daughters, Kathy Smith of Gluckstadt and Cindy Gregory of Meridian; brothers, Edward Hill and Hillmon Hill, both of Gilchrist, Oregon; sisters, Veda Graham of Stringer and Gladys Holland of Lucedale; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lucille B. Jefferson, 87, of Madison, died Jan. 23, 2003, at Madison County Medical Center in Canton.
Funeral services were held Jan. 29 at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Madison with burial in Seymore Cemetery.
Survivors include: a grandson, a granddaughter and many adopted community families and friends.
