Lillie C. Luckett, 70, of Canton, died June 13, 2004.
Funeral services were held June 18 at Family Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Canton with burial in Old Truelight Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Canton.
Survivors include: her children, Aaron Smith, Larry Smith, Maxine Fisher and husband Bennie, Mary Dixon and husband Otha and Kennedy Luckett, all of Canton; aunt, Dorothy Woodfield of Canton, and 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Oliver K. Belote Sr.
Canton
Oliver King "Sparky" Belote Sr., 96, of Canton, died May 13, 2004, at the Madison County Medical Center in Canton.
Funeral services were held May 15 at Grace Episcopal Church with burial in the Canton Cemetery.
Born in Memphis, Tenn., "Sparky" had lived in Canton since 1979. In 1975, he retired as manager of the Photo Engraving Department of the Memphis Publishing Co., where he had worked for 48 years.
An avid artist, he studied at the Memphis Academy of Arts. He loved working with watercolor and oils. He also studied woodcarving in the early 20's and enjoyed it all of his life. He carved many pieces for members of his family. After moving to Mississippi, he used his carving ability to make many sets of Stations of the Cross. He made the processional cross and large cross on the wall behind the altar in the chapel at Duncan Gray Center in Canton. He also carved the processional c ross for the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Canton. He worked with Sister Grace Mary repairing homes for the poor in the early days of Mad-CAAP (Madison Countians Allied Against Poverty).
His wife, Jimmie Otis Belote, also an artist, preceded him in death. Ironically, she also died on Flea Market Day, October 1994. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Anne Frazier and her husband Bob of Jonesboro, Ark.
Survivors include: his sons, Oliver King Belote Jr. and wife Ruby of Canton, and Edward Earl Belote and wife Shirley of Kansas City, Mo.; his brother, Marvin Belote of Memphis; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Robert "Sam" Caldwell Jr., 64, of Canton, died May 7, 2004, at Madison County Medical Center in Canton.
Funeral services were held May 15 at Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Canton with burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: his daughter, Mattie Goodman of Canton; sisters, Georgia Jones and husband Johnny of Gary, Ind., Ora McLaurin and husband Johnny, Bessie Brown, Gladys Macklin and husband Fred, Julia Thompson and husband Willie, Gloria Sims and husband James, Diane Caldwell, Shirley Caldwell, all of Canton; brothers, John Caldwell and wife Ruthie, Walter Caldwell and wife Mamie of Canton, Jimmy Caldwell of Champagne, Ill., Bennie Caldwell and wife Ada, Henry Caldwell of Jackson; aunt, Sallie Williams of Tougaloo; great-uncle, Abb Caldwell of Canton; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Johnnie Hughes Cauthen, 75, of Madison, died May 13, 2004, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were held May 15 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Pearl with burial in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery in Madison.
Survivors include: her son, Joe Cauthen and wife Cathy of Madison; grandsons, Blake and Kyle Cauthen of Madison; brother, Jack Hughes of Pearl; and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Alonzo Kennedy, 75, of Chicago, formerly of Camden, died May 12, 2004.
Funeral services were held May 17 at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Camden with burial in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: his brother, H.C. Kennedy and wife Melvina of Chicago; sisters, Elizabeth Catchings of Centreville, Ill., Mary Penn and husband Andrew of Cohokia, Ill., Addie Ruffin-Cosey and husband Charles of Park Forest, Ill., and Martia Giles and husband Clay of Chicago Heights, Ill.; niece, Mary Johnson and husband Charles of Canton; four aunts and two uncles.
Shirley B. Robinson

Shirley Beaver Robinson, 79, of Brandon and formerly of West Point, died May 17, 2004, at Brandon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were May 19 at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
A native of Ottawa, Kan., she was a graduate of Kansas State Teachers College and earned a master's degree at George Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn. She taught school in Kansas, Johnson City, Tenn., and Oklahoma City, Okla.
She married in 1959 and moved to West Point, where she was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include: husband, Taylor Robinson of Ridgeland; daughter, Annie Oeth and husband Ed of Ridgeland; brother, Rodney C. Beaver of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren.
