Funeral services were held April 8, 2002, at Old North Church in Los Angeles, CA, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park of Hollywood Hills. Forest Lawn Memorial Park & Mortuaries of Los Angeles, CA, handled arrangements. Zerelda was born June 5, 1955 in Jackson, MS, to the parentage of James and Carolyn Neal. At the age of two the family moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she spent her entire life. She is survived by her spouse, Tyrone Henderson; three children, Damien, Tyrone Jr. and Jasmine; two grandchildren, Damien Jr. and Christine; one brother, Ronald Neal; three sisters, Carol Lusidia Morrow, Patricia Langley, and Yolanda Coleman; a step-sister and step-brothers; brothers-in-laws; sister-in-law; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

EARL W. "BUTCH" NARON, JR.
Vicksburg, MS - Mr. Earl W. "Butch" Naron, Jr., 57, died Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Hospice Ministries. A wake service was held April 15, 2002. Funeral mass was held April 16, 2002 at St. Richard Catholic Church with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS. Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS, handled arrangements. Mr. Naron was a native of Greenwood, MS and a resident of Vicksburg, MS. He attended Delta State University, was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity and served in the Army and Air Reserve. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Naron was employed by the Isle of Capri Casino. He is survived by his mother, Gwendolyn Lundy; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Joe Nassar; and nephews, Matthew and Patrick Nassar, all of Madison, MS. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, 308 New Mannsdale Rd., Madison, MS 39110; Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland, MS 39157; or a favorite charity.

Belzoni, MS - Ellis Herron Evans, 83, died April 14, 2002, of heart failure, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services are today, April 17, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Belzoni with burial in Belzoni City Cemetery. Rev. Richard Wiman will officiate. Mortimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Evans was born in Isola, MS. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Belzoni. She attended Troyphagen School of Design in New York City. She was Advertising Manager for Holle-on-Main in Memphis, TN prior to her marriage. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Evans. Survivors include, two sons, John W. Evans, Sr. of Belzoni, and Charles "Jack" Evans of Long Beach, MS; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

ANNIE JANE MITCHELL
Columbus, MS - Annie Jane Mitchell, 74, formerly of Ethel, MS and a teacher of 40 years at Columbus, MS, died September 25, 2002, at Humphreys County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held September 27, 2002, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Stonewall Cemetery in Ethel, MS. Jordan Funeral Home handled ar-rangements. Annie Mae Mitchell was the founding and lifetime member of Laureate Gamma Chapter of beta Sigma Phi Business Sorority. She taught 40 years at Columbus, MS. Survivors include, two sisters, Bettie M. Biloxi, MS - Les Overby, 80, died September 23, 2002, in Gulfport, MS. Funeral services were held September 26, 2002, at Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes of Biloxi, MS with burial in the Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes, Inc. handled arrangements. Mrs. Overby was born in Monroe County, MS and was a resident of the coast for 35 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Biloxi. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington Overby; parents, Elton and Flora Lee Gilliland Irvin; a sister, Lella Blount; and a brother, Lonnie C. Irvin. Survivors include, a brother, John Irvin of Toney, AL; and 9 nieces and nephews.

After printing THE BELZONI BANNER this week, we learn of the death of Ernest Lee Cobb, of Belzoni. Full obituary will be in next week, but visitation will be Thursday evening, October 3rd from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Mortimer Funeral Home in Belzoni. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Belzoni at 11:00 Friday morning.

Mr. Brown was born in Vance, MS. He was a former superintendent of Humphreys County. He worked in administration with funding at Wood Jr. College. He is preceded in death by his wife, Erline Gore Brown. Survivors include, one daughter, Dr. Lynn Brown Wampler of Starksville, MS; one son, Dr. Steve N. Brown of Gainesville, GA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. SUE L. JONES
Roswell, GA - Sue L. Jones, 86, a homemaker, died December 6, 2002, of heart failure, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Marietta, GA. Funeral services were held December 9, 2002 at First Methodist Church in Belzoni with burial in Belzoni City Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Dearman officiated. Mortimer Funeral Home of Belzoni handled arrangements. Mrs. Jones was born in Bolivar County and she was a former member of First Methodist Church in Belzoni. She was a former resident of Belzoni before moving to Marietta, GA in 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Jones. Survivors include, two sons, William E. (Meredith) Jones of Gaithersburg, MD, and Allen (Fran) Jones of Roswell, GA; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and four nieces.

JACK NICHOLS
Silver City, MS - Jack Nichols, 85, a retired gin manager, died January 21, 2003, of heart failure, at Flowers Manor in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services were held January 24, 2003, at Mortimer Funeral Home Chapel in Belzoni with burial in Greencrest Memorial Gardens. Rev. Richard Wiman officiated. Mortimer Funeral Home handled arrangements. Mr. Nichols was born in Marie, AR, and lived in Humphreys County most of his life. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Nichols; sister, Mildred McElemurry and a daughter, Penny Nichols Willoughby. Survivors include, one son, Tom Nichols of Collierville, TN; one sister, Maydell Garst of Silver City, MS; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Louise, MS - Flo Ann Peeples, 66, a homemaker, died January 27, 2003, of leukemia, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services are today, January 29, 2003, 11:00 a.m., at Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel in Yazoo City, MS with burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Rev. Robert Ragland will officiate. Stricklin-King Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Peeples was born May 26, 1936 in Yazoo County to Basel McKee and Sara Bonney. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Louise, MS. Survivors include, her husband, James C. Peeples of Louise, MS; three daughters, Donna Ingram, Kathy Vandevere and Nancy Dew, all of Yazoo City, MS; and six grandchildren. Stricklin-King Funeral Home handled arrangements. Mrs. Manning was born November 3, 1923 in Duncan County, NC, to Lonnie and Laura Johnson Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam G. Manning. Survivors include, one son, Sam Manning, Jr. of Yazoo City, MS; three daughters, Laura Moore and Gloria Dees, both of Yazoo City, MS, and Frances Saxton of Belzoni; three sisters, Doris Romanoski of Dallas, TX, Joyce Dowless of Elizabethtown, NC, and Julia Allen of Wilmington, NC; two brothers, Don Campbell of Atlanta, GA, and Lawrence Campbell of Jordanville, NY; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. CARL LEE GOODE, SR.
Mineral Ridge, OH - Carl Lee Goode, Jr., 88, died February 15, 2004, of heart failure, at Glenview Manor Nursing Center in Mineral Ridge, OH. Mr. Goode was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was born December 4, 1915 in Tupelo, MS to R. V. Goode and Mildred Hendrix, both of Mississippi. He later moved to Silver City, MS and then to Warren, OH in 1945 to serve in the military. Funeral services were held February 21, 2004, at Stricklin-King Chapel in Yazoo City, MS, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Rev. Charles H. Anderson officiated. Stricklin-King Funeral Home handled arrangements. Survivors include, one son, Carl L. Mrs. Robertson was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Belzoni. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Kelly Robertson, Sr., her mother, Janie P. Funeral services were held February 24, 2004, at Stricklin-King Chapel in Yazoo City, MS, with burial in Straight Bayou Cemetery in Sharkey County. Rev. Darrell Covington officiated. Stricklin-King Funeral Home handled arrangements. Ms. Crotwell was born May 17, 1941 in Moorhead, MS to Miller Leonard Crotwell and Myrtle Marie McCoy. She was a member of Straight Bayou Baptist Church. Survivors include, two brothers, Freddie Crotwell of Yazoo City, MS and Ted Crotwell of Vicksburg, MS.
